Frozen Fun banners at the DCA entrance.
  • Page Number: 7
Frozen Fun has taken over the DCA Guidemap and time guide too.
A quick look inside. The Frozen Fun activities are listed.
  • Page Number: 8
The other big news is Condor Flats is completely closed off for renovation work. With Soarin down for an extended period they are taking the opportunity to redo the theme of the area.
One quick mention while looking at paper.. at the garage they gave out these two ads.
Stepping onto Buena Vista Street. Almost all signs of Christmas are gone. The window displays are about all that was left Friday.
  • Page Number: 9
The Christmas tree is gone and in its place a Frozen Fun photo op.
In the distance you can see the wall up by Condor Flats.. I circle around to that later in this update.
  • Page Number: 10
Hollywood Blvd has most of the Christmas decorations gone and Frozen Fun banners have taken their place on the lamp posts.
Award Wieners had an Olaf treat. No other special offerings for Frozen. They still had the Big Hero 6 hot dogs.
  • Page Number: 11
Frozen Fun has taken over the Backlot area.
And Frozen has moved into the Animation Building.

This area at night is where you can meet Marshmallow.
  • Page Number: 16
The bar is now the House of Ice
The building has a wrap on it (it did not look like new paint).
Looking toward the main stage which is used for a new night time event called Freeze the Night.
  • Page Number: 17
Back to the House of Ice
The dance stage from the House of Cards is gone and in its place this open dance floor.
  • Page Number: 18
The face painting is still there but now Frozen choices.
  • Page Number: 19
As I walked around the corner I heard the Pirates of the Caribbean movie theme being played so stopped to check it out. This is a middle school orchestra.
Here is a clip featuring some of the Pirates theme and Thriller.
  • Page Number: 20
The main stage for Freeze the Night. No band, just a DJ platform.

The Muppets have been removed and now it is called the Crown Jewel Theatre and features a Frozen Sing-Along
Evergreens were brought into the area.
  • Page Number: 22
You can also get a FastPass for the Sing-Along at these unmarked machines.
    What the FastPass looks like
  • Page Number: 23
Next door in Stage 17 is the Snow Fest, but it was closed this afternoon for some reason. The CastMembers did not know why or would not share and no ETA on reopening when I asked.
  • Page Number: 24
The Muppet store is now the Wandering Oakens Trading post.
A look around. They have removed the large counter so you can now walk into/through the store.
And a lot of merchandise is outside the store.
  • Page Number: 25
A quick look around at some of the merchandise
Inside above the merchandise are some props.

  • Page Number: 32
The building received some sort of wrap along the walkways.
Inside you are greeted with signage for the meet and greet.
  • Page Number: 33
A queue for the Animation Academy. The one leading up to the doors was full already.
Anna & Elsa have moved into the Character Close-Up area.
  • Page Number: 34
As seems the new norm you cannot see the characters unless you go through. Walls are up forming some rooms in the area now.
Jumping ahead several hours I gave my FastPass to someone to meet the Frozen sisters.. here are two pictures they sent. When you walk down the hallway there are doors to enter to meet them.
  • Page Number: 35
    Anna & Elsa
Jumping back to the regular time line.. a closer look at the sign for the FastPass return.
The queue for the Animation Academy. Interesting it said Standby on the sign. Guessing there was a FastPass option somewhere?
  • Page Number: 36
Off the Page (last trip I looked at the Frozen merchandise there if you are interested check out my 12/19 pictures set)
Another view of the Trading Post
A Frozen Fun sign near the Sing-Along exit area.
  • Page Number: 37
The exit area for the Sing-Along is rather plain. The movie poster signs are removed. So its just an open concrete area.
Banners are hung over the props as you enter the theater (note I used standby and was one of the last people in so I could not really stop to take pictures.. the Cast Members kept pushing me along because they wanted to close the doors and start the show).
  • Page Number: 38
Inside all traces of the Muppets appeared to be gone (but I was walking fairly quickly and trying to snap a few pictures so I may have missed something).
  • Page Number: 39
The waiting area looks quite different now. This is all I saw of it before being hurried into the first door.
  • Page Number: 40
Inside I ended up with a seat in the back but toward the middle. It was a full house. Maybe a dozen empty seats scattered around that I could see.
The theater has new projections and some new decorations.
  • Page Number: 41
Show time.. the penguin pit is covered and there is a stage in front of the projection screen now.
  • Page Number: 42

  • Page Number: 49
Here is a video clip of the finale.
    Time to leave...
  • Page Number: 50
The Snow Fest was still closed. Olaf was greeting guests just inside the exit doors. This was the best shot I could get of him.
    Without waiting 45 minutes.
A better view of where the FastPass carts were located for the Anna & Elsa meet and greet.
  • Page Number: 51
These benches along the street looked different to me.. were these somewhere else before?
The Red Car News Boys passed by.
Some Christmas decorations still up in Fliks Fun Fair
  • Page Number: 52
If internet reporting/rumor is to be believed we are down to less than a month before the Flying Tires will be removed.
The Cozy Cone Popcorn Flavors of the day.. butter and Bacon & Cheddar
Some Christmas decorations are still up in Cars Land. Here is a look inside the Cozy Cone lobby.
  • Page Number: 53
The garland and decorations towards the Racers are removed from Cars Land. The telephone poles on the right are still there but will be gone soon.
    Looking the other way.
Inside Flos there were still Christmas trees
  • Page Number: 54
The Pacific Wharf Cafe is closed for renovation.
The cart is still open and selling fresh bread.
And a couple of the menu items have moved next door to Cocina Cucamonga.
  • Page Number: 55
Noticed they were still cutting bread inside.. so the bakery is remaining open while the attraction and cafe are being worked on.
  • Page Number: 56
The right two areas feature the Mexican menu.
Then a blank one and the far left features the bread bowls.
A queue for the bread bowls
  • Page Number: 57
The reduced/temporary menu features only Clam Chowder and Broccoli and Cheese options.
The CMs where their Pacific Wharf costumes so can tell the difference between the two ordering areas that way too.
The walls for the cafe work cut off some of the outdoor seating.
  • Page Number: 58
World of Color is closed for the winter for renovation. They are draining Paradise Bay. A look at the current state.

A sign up explaining how the water will be recycled.
Out on the platform some spools of new hoses are visible, but not much else yet.
  • Page Number: 60
Here you can see the water level is down slightly from where it normally is.
The platform has a bow in it..
    This section is partially submerged.
  • Page Number: 61
And next to it this section rises up higher.
The fountains are interesting to see for geeks like me but are a great example of bad show from a theme perspective.
The kiosk near the Corn Dog wagon featured Soarin merchandise. Condor Flats is closed which includes the Fly n Buy.
  • Page Number: 62
Taste Pilots is also closed so some of the menu has moved to the Paradise Garden Grill
  • Page Number: 63
A look at the temporary menu at Paradise Garden Grill
  • Page Number: 64
Looks like some light renovation/painting going on.
Another shot of the Condor Flats/Soarin merchandise kiosk.
Walking through Paradise Park it seems much more open now.
  • Page Number: 65
Here you can see where the archways used to be.
Looks like they just cut them off. Guess that means they will not come back in the same form. Unless they actually slide inside there.
  • Page Number: 66
    Where the other one was.
Doug was out near the water wheel since Redwood Creek was also closed.
  • Page Number: 67
They had some games taped off to entertain kids.
    The walls blocking Redwood Creek
  • Page Number: 68
Christmas decorations still visible over the wall.
Some of the trees are not looking that well. Wonder if this is just winter or if the frost got to them?
The walkway is blocked just past the Grand Californian walkway.
  • Page Number: 69
A closer look at the end of the road.
Nothing visible going on along the walkway. Wonder if anything will change there or if the walls are that far out just to stop guests from going down the dead end.
    Walking around GRR.
  • Page Number: 70
No visible changes on the bread tour entrance.
Ghirardelli still has Christmas garland up.

    The wait times around 3:23pm
  • Page Number: 73
The Condor Flats walls come all the way out to the line board. Wonder if all that rock work is coming out?
Looks like the name Condor Flats may be going away and it will be the Grizzly Peak Airfield when it re-opens.
  • Page Number: 74
On the wall a map showing what is closed off and directing you to the Garden Grill for burgers.

Why the need for tape there? Do people not know to push strollers up to the curb/rail?
Walking back by the Haunted Mansion (which is still running the Holiday version through the weekend).
  • Page Number: 83
The Mark Twain in port. The new front rails are still odd looking to me. I guess they match the upper deck but it still stands out.
The Jungle Cruise is closed for the removal of the Christmas overlay.
In the hub the small trees are still there, but the Christmas ornaments have been removed.
  • Page Number: 84
The Frozen pre-parade has returned before Soundsational.
The Magic Eye Theatre is closed for removal of Big Hero 6. The question is what is next? Captain EO returns or something else? Cinderella preview? A Marvel movie?
  • Page Number: 85
The Big Hero 6 signage is still in place.
The Matterhorn is closed for renovation. The wall features the same signs as last year that talk about the history of the mountain.
