    Downtown Disney Summer Celebration continues this weekend with a Sand Volleyball tournament and exhibition. Here is the schedule.
    In addition to Volleyball there is a shaved ice truck by the court.
    Also a DJ on hand throughout the event.

    Near ESPN there were autograph sessions. This is Coach Karch Kiraly, an Olympic Gold Medalist in both indoor and beach volleyball (thanks to Randy for the help identifying him since I missed his name while there)

    The Legends of Frontierland: Gold Rush and the Music of Nashville received top billing on the Times Guide this week.
    Had some time so stopped by the try out the Legends of Frontierland for a while. Here is the land map as we started the adventure.

    A closer look.
    Was given a map and a name tag (I had no idea what to call myself so they named me Jiminy Jason as my western name). I earned 10 bits while playing.
    A closer look at the bits. You can use these for various game play elements. Each coin is 5 bits. You can trade in 50 bits for a gold nugget. Land costs 100 bits.

    Our first stop was the Telegraph Station to see what was going on.

    We started looking in the stores.
    There are some props you can purchase to use in the game.. mustaches, hats, and other disguises.

    Hmm.. seems something is going on here.. looks like a Rainbow Ridge group was plotting something.

    LB Enterprises, part of the Legends of Frontierland has opened a business.

    This week the stage show was listed on the times guide. 11:15, 12:15, 1:15, 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00.
    Made my way out to the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree for the Music of Nashville which premiered today and will be playing Fri, Sat, and Sun for the rest of the summer.

    Upon entering you were given a card with the cast of the show on it.
    The back portion of the Jamboree has the picnic tables the front portion chairs (picture in a few pages)

    Before the band took the stage an MC to introduce the show (both the one we were about to see and the TV show). She was giving away prizes, Season 1 DVDs.
    The food location is moved further back and to the side now.
    In addition to food it sells the DVD too.

    We returned to Frontierland after the show and finally found Runaway Rosanna, who responded to the telegraph.
    Returned it to the Telegraph Office to earn 5 bits.

    Made my way out to New Orleans Square to see it in the day time.
    Today was the first day Club 33 was back in normal operation. Members inside eating, with their shopping bags on the new window.

    The old Club 33 entrance still has its signage.

    The new gates that block off the Court of Angels (there was a gap in the gate and a fairly constant stream of guests looking inside.. so this is only the top portion).
    Here is a quick look through the gap. The stairs survived but have safety enhancements (railings, lights). Also new statues at the base.

    Noticed there are now curtains on the now larger hallways overhead. They were all open this afternoon.
    The other archway entrance to the Court of Angels. FYI this felt like plastic.
    No work has been done to clean up where the balconies were cut for the new overhead walkway/bridge.

    Splash Mountain turned 25 this week. To mark the occasion Disneyland Annual Passholder could stop by for a free commemorative poster.

    Quite a bit of land has been purchased since earlier. Orange is Frontierland and Yellow Rainbow Ridge

    Wonder why they still have so many payphones accessible.. assuming there is a law or ordinance? Seems one or two would work fine for emergency purposes. I cannot remember the last time I saw anyone on one of these.

    Work continues on the railings along the walkway near Redwood Creek.

    Hard to see but this evening noticed quite a few umbrellas along the walkway to provide shade for the benches.
