    Walking down Harbor Blvd a little after 5:00am.
    Plenty of signs alerting drivers to the event and where to park.

    As I entered the resort shuttle area there were guests filtering in but no mass of humanity or craziness.
    Plenty of Cast Members out to answer questions and direct you.
    No lines at the security tents even.

    Cast Members handing out free Eye Glasses to the first couple of thousand guests. The cast members were having fun and in good spirits.

    Warnings of delayed openings since there was a Grad Nite last night at DCA. So you could choose which park to visit first.

    The Esplanade had a fair number of guests lined up at each park and everything was well organized.
    Notice the lines on the ground to keep walkways open.

    A pan around the area as the 15 minute announcement was playing.
    In the center of the Esplanade was a media platform. Here is a merchandise display that was being used for some of the interviews.

    In position for the opening moment. Opted for DCA since Disneyland had a Monorail beam in my way.
    For the final countdown, starting with 10 there were fireworks.

    The DCA crowds moved up to the turn stiles.

    An Annual Passholder preview for Mickey and the Magical Map was to be held today.
    More monster merchandise as we walked out to the Small World Mall.
    The terrace area was set up as radio row with several stations broadcasting today.

    The wristband distribution area. No line and you could choose what show you wanted. We opted for 2:00pm, the first one.
    Main Street traffic had evened out and the cast members and characters were gone.

    News Boys out walking the street distributing Buena Vista Street Bugles. Too bad it was the Spring issue and not a special edition for the day or for summer yet.

    The Racers fastpass sign.. I had not seen this since I am rarely at the park for opening.
    Route 66 had a fair number of guests considering the Racers did not open for a couple hours still.

    The Racers were cycling in snail mode when we first showed up (they crawl around the track, makes it much easier for pictures).

    I do not think the second red car is going to catch up. After this the speed was bumped up to almost normal operation.

    Recently the trashcans in Fife, Fiddler and Practical Cafe had been updated.

    I had to go back and check out of my hotel room. A view of the backside of the Cadillac Range.
    And the giant water tower that was put in backstage.

    No problems at all getting into the garage. Looking at Disneyland Drive traffic was flowing smoothly out there too.
    Surprised they did not have summer billboards up yet at the tram stop.

    Gibson Girl was not open yet.. so took the opportunity to take a few photos with no guests around.

    Quite a few ducklings and ducks in the pond between Adventureland and Frontierland.
    Shortly after this picture (as I was changing lenses) this bird dove out of the tree and went after a duckling).

    The Tree House on the island is still under wraps.
    The walls are down in New Orleans Square.

    The exit ramp has been redone. You no longer exit straight down, there is a new ramp that leads back toward the station.

    Noticed a new ladder and hose to fill the tender with water. Still cannot believe that after nearly 60 years of doing it one way it is not deemed unsafe by the state of California to fill the trains.

    Thought this was funny as we were walking through Adventureland saw this sign. The other side is for the Meet and Greet. But it just seemed out of place to see a farewell greeting that led to a seating area.

    We went inside for a screening of the film thanks to the DisneylandToday twitter folks.
    After the movie it was back to Disneyland.

    Been going for 7 hours already.. and it is only 1:15..
    A large crowd waiting to enter the Theatre for the Annual Passholder screening. It holds 1,800 guests and the show was going to be full.

    The main difference between yesterday and today was the audience. The Annual Passholder crowd was quite vocal as they cheered, clapped, and sung along.

    The pork shank like you can purchase at Gastons in Florida is now available at Disneyland in Fantayland.

    The Esplanade was busy, but park hopping was still relatively easy, especially compared to last week.
    Main Street was busy, but not gridlock.

    Disneyland Drive was doing its impression of a parking lot.
    Noticed a steady stream of cars entering the garage using the overpass.
