At the bottom of the escalator at the Mickey and Friends Garage a CM was giving everyone high fours!
At the Downtown Disney tram stop they have added a new location for the wheelchair accessible courtesy van.
They had one pulled in and were taping off the ground and measuring. So it is still a work in progress and not open yet.
  • Page Number: 2
A better view of where it is, right in between the two tram stops.
Thought this was interesting. On the table at the security check point these cards.
  • Page Number: 3
    The front..
    And the back...
    First stop today, Disneyland.
  • Page Number: 4
Always nice to be back after some time in Orlando.
Mickey and Minnie out with the Straw Hatters.
  • Page Number: 5
The Disneyana Store and Market House are both closed for conversion to Starbucks.
  • Page Number: 6
Interesting they say their new location is next to Lincoln. Does that mean the Disney Gallery is going to be partially renamed? Makes sense if the front store part is Disneyana then the gallery is the back two rooms. No new signage down there yet though.
    They are repainting the facades.
  • Page Number: 7
Seems like this indicates that the Market House name is staying for the new location.
  • Page Number: 8
    The waits just before 2:00pm
The Mark Twain has returned to service since my last visit and it looks great!
  • Page Number: 9
Looks the woodwork has been repainted and repaired.
  • Page Number: 10
This also means we get a better view of the Big Thunder work from the upper deck.
Looking through the station you can see the new track.
Rainbow Ridge visible progress has slowed. It looks very much the same as last visit from our vantage point.
  • Page Number: 11
A closer picture of the new track.
  • Page Number: 12
A crew working near the track switch.
  • Page Number: 13
The holes in the mountain have been patched up.
  • Page Number: 14
    Passing by the Fantasmic stage.
    New Orleans Square this afternoon.
The Columbia was in port and not in service today.
  • Page Number: 15
The forest still looks so thin now. Wonder how long it will take to fill back in.
Continuing to look around the Mark Twain.
  • Page Number: 16
  • Page Number: 17
A family of ducks out enjoying the river.
  • Page Number: 18
A couple more pictures of the Big Thunder work as we pull into port.
  • Page Number: 19
A lot of wild life out in this pond along the Big Thunder trail today.
    A turtle swimming by.
    And several fish.
  • Page Number: 20
Next stop the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree
The Cowboy Roundup was underway as I approached.
Since everyones attention was on the round up the rodeo games and back portion were empty except for cast members.
  • Page Number: 21
Cowgirl Minnie out dancing during the round up.
  • Page Number: 22
A couple video clips of the Cowboy Roundup if you were curious about it.
    Time to move on.
  • Page Number: 23
Casey Jr was closed because Soundsational was starting soon.
Painting the railing near the Mad Tea Party.
  • Page Number: 24
Speaking of painting the rest of the light towers in the Small World Mall are underwraps and being repainted.
And the Le Petit Chalet was also closed and looks like it is receiving some new paint too.
  • Page Number: 25
Less than a month till Mickey and the Magical Map premieres (May 25th).
More details of the stage/sets can be seen over the wall.
Out in Toontown the Goofy Water is still not done.. this is the longest drinking fountain rehab.
  • Page Number: 26
Noticed Buena Vista Street pop corn buckets in Small World Mall. Did they run out or is this a cost saving measure?
  • Page Number: 27
    Walking past the Matterhorn.
Tomorrowland was not as jammed up as usual. Both the Subs and Space Mountain were closed today.
The Plaza Inn no longer has the daily birthday celebrations.
  • Page Number: 28
Continuing the food thread... the Blue Bayou has new menus.
    Lunch
    Dinner
  • Page Number: 29
For this weeks Limited Time Magic we get earth week food...
Looks like they resurfaced or cleaned the fountain. It looked brighter than usual.
  • Page Number: 30
The Mark Twain looks great. The white really pops now.
A classic Disneyland flag was being flown onboard.
  • Page Number: 31
Noticed what appears to be a plastic bumper on the boat now. That was wood before, right?
Walked through the Fantasy Faire and spotted this billboard which was new to me.
  • Page Number: 32
    Notice the wanted poster artwork.
    Compared to this other one.
The Tangled Tower... its not the impressive restroom tower like WDW has, but still nice.
  • Page Number: 33
A duck posing for pictures in front of the castle
Then it became shy and turned away...
Stopped by the Gallery. The animation desk from the Disneyana store now sits right inside the store.
  • Page Number: 34
The medium figs have taken over this area.
    A look at the sore.
Time to head over to DCA. A look at Carthay Circle.

    Some waits around 4pm.
    Random grizzly peak picture.
Route 66 is busy but not jammed this afternoon.
  • Page Number: 36
Wow a long back up for GRR. Found out this was the Fastpass return line.
The stand by posted time was under an hour.
  • Page Number: 37
The Condor Flats restrooms are closed for some work.
  • Page Number: 38
Are these new shirts? I do not recall seeing them.
In front of Taste Pilots there was some tape on the ground (hard to make out from this angle.. oops) that looked like a queue outside. Were they trying something different or was the park that crowded recently that they needed a queue outside?
  • Page Number: 39
In Hollywoodland on Sunset Blvd there is now a stand selling Monsters University merchandise. This is where the old truck usually is parked. It looks like the repurposed the carts from the Mad T Party.
  • Page Number: 40
  • Page Number: 41
  • Page Number: 42
The cart is here because across the street will become the Meet and Greet for the characters soon as this facade will become a set for them.
The Pixar Play parade was about to begin.
The Monsters Unit is out of service since it is being tweaked to promote Monsters University. So the Incredibles lead off the parade.
  • Page Number: 43
I thought it was a nice touch that between units they would close the parade gates and line the next group up backstage then open the gates and step off.
  • Page Number: 44
    Walking through Radiator Springs.
Not sure why but every time I walk by I want to take pictures of the rock work...
  • Page Number: 45
    A posted 95 minute wait.
But it sure looked shorter than that.
The bubbles were from the parade passing by.
  • Page Number: 46
    Cleaning up the extended queue.
Some of the cactus plants were in bloom.
  • Page Number: 47
  • Page Number: 48
  • Page Number: 49
DJ rolling by while I was fiddling around taking pictures.
  • Page Number: 50
Do you know your Ornament Valley Rock Layers?
  • Page Number: 51
  • Page Number: 52
    Moving on to Paradise Pier.
    Paradise Park was in bloom/
  • Page Number: 53
  • Page Number: 54
Cycling some of the World of Color fountains.
The Ellis Island Boys in Paradise Gardens.
Seems like they are never going to fix this out by the stores. I believe it was a light pole once upon a time.
  • Page Number: 55
    No Mr. Potato Head today.
    Back through Cars Land.
    An important reminder...
  • Page Number: 56
A better picture showing where the Monsters University cart is.
A Red Car heading my way.
  • Page Number: 57
Walked through the Animation Building. Seems like they should be switching out these ads for the upcoming slate. They still had Brave, Wreck It Ralph, and Frankenweenie.
The Monsters Inc segment was playing the main lobby as I walked through.
  • Page Number: 58
The Mad T Party had just begun when I stepped back outside.
    So walked through.
  • Page Number: 59
Saw Dancing With Disney is slated to return to Stage 17 in June.
  • Page Number: 60
An Oz window in Elias and Co.
Monsters merchandise in Elias and Co.
Many more guests entering than leaving right now.
  • Page Number: 61
The Esplanade was busy as usual for a Friday night.
    Back to Disneyland and Tomorrowland.
Innoventions has returned to normal.. no massive lines to enter this week.
  • Page Number: 62
Space Mountain has been closed since the day after my last visit due to OSHA issues.
  • Page Number: 63
    Decided to walk through Innoventions.
With the Subs and Space both closed Tomorrowland was not that crowded tonight.
  • Page Number: 64
The Power City game was closed today.
They switched the guest flow at the Iron Man exhibit. If you want to do the suit up experience they had the queue going through what was being used as the exit the first night.
And it extended to the other side of the walkway.
  • Page Number: 65
This meant the area used by the queue the first night was open to walk around, it seemed much less congested this way.
  • Page Number: 66
  • Page Number: 67
Also note when you entered they made you walk all the way around to get to the Iron Man exhibit. There was a cast member standing there not letting you take the quick left into the exhibit.
    Tomasina was at Tomorrowland Terrace.
Decided to take the train from Toontown to New Orleans Square. The plan seemed good until the train that pulled in empty and was being taken offline.
  • Page Number: 68
Then the next train pulled in an only a handful of guests disembarked. I was not going to make that one either..
then the Cast Memeber did something extremely nice. He asked the next several groups, which included me, to wait for him at the back of the train. He then came back and opened the Lilly Belle for us.
So I got to do something I have not done.. ride the Lilly Belle at night. The pictures are way too dark.. but here are a couple to share. (If you want to see better pictures of the Lilly Belle visit my Raildays pictures from last year).
  • Page Number: 69
    Passing by the Grand Canyon.
By the time we reached Main Street all the other groups but one had left.
So it was just three of us riding to NOS where I disembarked and the other two stayed on to complete the round trip.
  • Page Number: 70
I made it to Fantasmic with about 5 minutes to spare.
Some random pictures from the show.
  • Page Number: 71
  • Page Number: 72
  • Page Number: 73
One of my favorite parts of the show, the Mark Twain rounding the corner to make its pass.
  • Page Number: 74
I then made my way to Main Street and arrived with a minute or so to spare before Remember.
  • Page Number: 75
This is the final weekend for Remember, Magical starts next week for the summer.
On the way out they were not using the new van stop for guests.. just an assembly point for cast members.
