    I started the morning off bright and early. Here is a quick look into DCA around 6:00am as I was walking out of the room to head for the park.
    The Goodyear blimp was overhead for the festivities.
    Noticed this new banner at the Grand Californian entrance with the new slogan.

    We were waiting for a shuttle that never showed up...
    As we entered the park this morning they gave us this pin to celebrate the occasion.

    As soon as the show wrapped up they started to clear the area and this line of Cast Members set up for the arrival of the first guests.
    A few minutes later those that had been camping out since yesterday were led up to the line.

    The crowd started to move and we started to back peddle to keep in front of them (there is a series of video clips in a couple pages).

    When the crowd got their first look at Cars Land a loud cheer went up.

    Plenty of Cast Memebers and some media lined the streets to watch the masses arrive.
    The crew at Luigis were all out and many were cleaning the windows and into the act.

    The crowd is at Flos and quickly closing in on the Racers.

    Disney had broken up the masses so it would not overwhelm Cars Land. They were let in in waves.

    As I was taking this picture someone came up beside my to take a picture.
    I looked over ant it was Bob Iger, no one can pass by without taking a picture!

    The queue was rapidly approaching our area so time to move on.
    Once back on Route 66 there were plenty of photo ops and smiles to go around. Here George and Tom are taking a picture with some guests who asked for one.

    What a great view! As I was taking in the view guess who showed up next to me to take pictures.
    George Kalogridis. I gave him a tip on the best place to stand to see shoot Route 66 (thanks to taking hundreds of construction pictures from here!)
    Tom Staggs joined him on the patio and Roger Gould joined the group to take some pictures (he is in the blue shirt).
