  • Page Number: 1
Heading into the parks, noticed CHOC Walk banners up for the annual fundraiser that takes place next week.
The ticket booth signs are back to Annual Pass signs, no more Aulani on there.
  • Page Number: 2
The fireworks poster has been swapped out to properly show the current show, Remember.
The Emporium work is complete (interior shots later)
Main Street was fairly crowded with everyone entering the park.
  • Page Number: 3
Seems this needs to be updated to promote the home video release... or is it still in theaters?
No visible progress on the camera store. Still under wraps.
  • Page Number: 4
The only attractions with waits seemed to be in Fantasyland (not on the board).
But here is a look at Peter Pan.
Walked through Plaza Gardens, no signs of work yet.
  • Page Number: 5
The Frontierland work has wrapped up.
    The new boardwalk.
  • Page Number: 6
    The Halloween Tree has returned.
  • Page Number: 7
    Out the door for breakfast.
The exterior of Pirates and the front of the Dream Suite is under wraps.
  • Page Number: 8
The not so hidden Club 33 entrance thanks to the facade work going on.
  • Page Number: 9
  • Page Number: 10
Out in Critter Country the re-configured Meet and Greet is out from behind walls.
  • Page Number: 11
  • Page Number: 12
  • Page Number: 13
There is now a large queue area, and you can no longer walk around the planter thanks to this queue.
  • Page Number: 14
The walls are down around the drinking fountain across from Pirates.
  • Page Number: 15
    A random Jungle Cruise shot.
Work continues on the Adventureland restrooms
  • Page Number: 16
Looking down Main Street from the hub you can just barely see the top of the Carthay (also note the flag is at half staff for Steve Jobs)
  • Page Number: 17
But by the time you reach Coke Corner it is out of sight.
Walked through the Fortuosity store on my way to check out the Emporium.
  • Page Number: 18
As usual the store is decked out for the season.
  • Page Number: 19
Now a look around the completed Emporium.
Since it was around 9:30am the store was not crowded, so it looks even more open than usual.
  • Page Number: 20
The recently completed Annex/Back room portions.
  • Page Number: 21
  • Page Number: 22
On the way to DCA stopped to catch a little of the Disneyland Band.
  • Page Number: 23
Noticed almost all the merchandise kiosks are now these large displays.
A look toward the Carthay, I will walk over there later.
The kiosk by GRR has been changed too.
  • Page Number: 24
All the railing work looks to be complete.
Joining the herd on my way to Toy Story.
    A rare sight... no wait.
  • Page Number: 25
My score.. not bad for riding by myself.
And since there were maybe 50 people in front of me I managed to set a high score (probably lasted another 10-15 minutes only but still fun).
By the time I exited the line had grown to its normal length.
  • Page Number: 26
Next stop the Fun Wheel and Cars Land shots. As you can see the scaffolding is being removed and the Cadillac Range looks great.
A pan from left to right of the tail fins
  • Page Number: 27
  • Page Number: 28
    A worker inside Flos today.
  • Page Number: 29
The arch is moving along. The concrete work looks to be wrapping up and painting will start soon. Also on the right notice the mesh is up for the backside of the rockwork.
    Panning to the right.
    Continuing on..
  • Page Number: 30
They are working their way along. I would say more than half of the new mesh work is now done.
Spotted one worker on the rock face.
  • Page Number: 31
More trees around Maters. So getting good shots of the testing is rather tricky. You can make out a few workers through the trees.
The wood frame went up fast but now it seems to be moving more slowly.
  • Page Number: 32
No visible progress on the Cozy Cone.
The building framing looks to be done and in the back you can see what looks to be a backstage gate swung open.
  • Page Number: 33
    Working over to the Carthay.
    A closer look
The court house is covered and looks to be ready for its exterior.
  • Page Number: 34
Not much visible change here. Guessing once the scaffolding comes down around the radiator cap they will finish the concrete work.
Only seven more stories of scaffolding to remove..
The repainting of Screamin looks to be done.
  • Page Number: 35
The painting of the far corner of the rock wall is moving along.
    Back to Screamin.
    A better shot.
  • Page Number: 36
I know this happened a while ago.. but I always forgot to grab a picture. King Tritons now has the extra steps like the one at Disneyland.
A closer look at the far side of the rock wall. Notice the toothpicks waiting for the scaffolding and mesh.
  • Page Number: 37
    Duffys spot.
A closer look at the mesh for the new rock wall.
    How the corner will look.
  • Page Number: 38
Walls up around where the flour silos used to be.
From the Blue Sky Cellar area there are now trees obstructing a good portion of the view.
  • Page Number: 39
The trees appeared to still be in crates so guessing they are being staged for installation this coming week.. either that or just to block our view down the main street..
A look through the trees does not reveal much.
  • Page Number: 40
Made another pass through the Blue Sky Cellar. Here are some better pictures of the display case that talks about the interior design of the Cafe
  • Page Number: 41
  • Page Number: 42
Heading toward the front of the park to check out the Buena Vista Street work.
  • Page Number: 43
The Carthay is really taking shape behind the tarps.
Steel is up for the west side of the street. The footprint of the stores has really been extended. It is really hard to tell with these shots, I know...
  • Page Number: 44
Here you can see how it extends to the left beyond the building. Just as the Zephyr did.
On the pump house side of the street the parade lighting posts and street lights are in.
  • Page Number: 45
Surprised these buildings are still intact.
A closer look at the new lights.
A wigwag has been installed near the station too.
  • Page Number: 46
Thought this was a great shot with the palm trees.. just wish I had shifted a bit to hide the parade light pole on the left.
Signage is up at the stop on the pump house.
  • Page Number: 47
In the back more posts, guessing for the speakers, just like out by the Little Mermaid area.
Trying to look through a crack in the fence. Cannot really tell much.
  • Page Number: 48
A little hard to tell but there is also a wall up along the Monorail beam too.
    ElecTRONica has returned.
The walls are down, but the ODV cart is replaced by one of the new merchandise carts.
  • Page Number: 49
Nothing else looks too different in the area, guessing it was concrete work.
  • Page Number: 50
The curb looks to be the same.
The exterior of the Carthay is slowly going up.
  • Page Number: 51
Notice the awning says Information. Guess this will be the the new info kiosk, wonder if a line board will return to DCA.. it has been years.
  • Page Number: 52
Back to Disneyland. Noticed a photo location set up on Main Street, guessing for the after hours party. I did not see any of the characters using it during the day.
    The wait times around 11:10am
    Can you spot the turtle?
  • Page Number: 53
    Another one.
The line for the Tangled crew had a 60 minute posted wait.
  • Page Number: 54
    The Halloween cups.
  • Page Number: 55
Stopped by the Halloween Roundup to check out the current pumpkins
  • Page Number: 56
  • Page Number: 57
  • Page Number: 58
  • Page Number: 59
  • Page Number: 60
  • Page Number: 61
They had a good selection of Villains rotating through.
  • Page Number: 62
    Almost showtime...
I was finally able to catch the Calling All Drummers show. I found out they are running it four times a day now. Twice in the noon hour and twice in the 1pm hour.
This brief show features some of the drummers from the Soundsational parade
  • Page Number: 63
Here are two clips from the show.
  • Page Number: 64
After the show headed for Toontown to see what was going on.
Long waits for the characters today.
  • Page Number: 65
This just seems awkward to me to have a DVC book out near the park.
I caught the second performance to get some more video.
  • Page Number: 66
Here is video of the full show. I goofed and had the lens mis aligned but you can get the drift of the show.
Walked through Downtown Disney to get to the Disneyland Hotel since the Monorail was closed today.
  • Page Number: 67
    The Oktoberfest area.
  • Page Number: 68
    Here is the menu.
As I mentioned the Monorail was closed today.
  • Page Number: 69
This evening the Paint in Motion artists were going to be out.
The scaffolding was down on the area near the restaurants.
The side of the Fantasy tower has been touched up.
  • Page Number: 70
The parking lot side of the tower looks complete, the ongoing work is now in the lobby area on the first floor.
The walls have been pushed back out front. Just the columns and fountain area were walled off.
  • Page Number: 71
Wonder what will go on these pedestals.
  • Page Number: 72
  • Page Number: 73
When you walk through the main doors there is a water station and a great painting.
No signage up on the gift shop entrance yet.
Looking left you can see a good portion of the lobby is walled off.
  • Page Number: 74
So reaching the front desk is a bit of challenge (notice the character out interacting with guests).
The elevator area. The outter two are done and the center one is walled off.
Here you can see the old meets new.
  • Page Number: 75
A better shot of the small old section in the middle.
    A not so hidden Mickey.
Still miss the old pictures.. this new look seems so plain to me. Maybe it is not finished yet.
  • Page Number: 76
    Heading outside.
There are now a couple windows so you can look through the wall to check out the pool progress.
  • Page Number: 77
You can see most of the decking has been poured and they were working on plants and pavers today.
The poles are where the fence will be.
  • Page Number: 78
Out front of the Adventure Tower rebar is going in for the concrete pour.
  • Page Number: 79
Some of the fencing is in on the far side.
Work is moving along on the edge of the building that overlooks the pool
  • Page Number: 80
A wide shot of the E-ticket pool area. The workers in the foreground were reconfiguring the wall. The one on the right was re-framing and the one on the left re-painting.
As you can see they are saving the pool till the end.
Interesting the ramp and steps will be outside the gate.
  • Page Number: 81
Here you can see the paver/stone work.
  • Page Number: 82
Another window shows they are wrapping up the work along this walkway.
Back to Disneyland. Mickey, Minnie and the Straw Hatters were out.
  • Page Number: 83
As were Chip and Dale and the Firehouse Band.
    Main Street still looked crowded.
Jake out for pictures in New Orleans Square.
  • Page Number: 84
Walls still across from the Big Thunder exit where the DVC kiosk was.
    A pumpkin I missed earlier.
  • Page Number: 85
Some shots from the Mark Twain
Spotted a real cat roaming along.
  • Page Number: 86
Next stop for us Tom Sawyer Island.
Wanted to take some shots of the peaceful back side of the island but there were quite a few people around. Not sure why parents let their kids go over the fences and into the cemetery for pictures. The fences are there for a reason...
  • Page Number: 87
Still kind of sad to visit the Island and not be able to go into the Fort.
A new cart out near the perfume shop.
  • Page Number: 88
A quick look at the Flag Retreat
Over to DCA. The Cadillac Range at Sunset.
  • Page Number: 89
  • Page Number: 90
Looks like the foundation for Sarges is going in. Notice the rebar in the middle of the shot.
    Over to the Carthay.
  • Page Number: 91
Hmm... seems the new trees really get in the way of my wide shot of the range...
  • Page Number: 92
Another shot of the new rock face that is taking shape.
  • Page Number: 93
There was a large crowd waiting to get into the House of Blues for a concert.
    A band at the Octoberfest
A look at the Paint in Motion performance.
  • Page Number: 94
I tried to get a video but with their spot light the video camera (and cell phone camera) did not want to work. So this is the best I had.
    Here are some stills.
Do you know who this is yet?
  • Page Number: 95
    John Lennon
Next up they asked for a volunteer to be painted.
  • Page Number: 96
Then one more painting. As if figuring it out was not hard enough this one he painted upside down!
  • Page Number: 97
    Bob Marley
They had CHOC walk bags for sale too to help raise funds for the event.
On the way back to the parks walked by the Rumble Kings
  • Page Number: 98
    The Halloween Tree at night.
A ride through the Haunted Mansion
  • Page Number: 99
Several people asked me what was in the houses mouth. Turns out to be teeth and a tongue. (not visible in this picture)
  • Page Number: 100
I had a Fastpass for the Blue Section of World of Color but showed up 5 minutes before show time so I was not in an optimum location.
  • Page Number: 101
It really would not have been that bad if all the kids were at regular height but up their parents shoulder made seeing cleanly quite a challenge.
I did have a great view of the projections on loop, but of course had the wrong lens on so no good pictures.
