  • Page Number: 1
Wonder when they will update the directory. The Timon lot has been gone for quite a while now.
Not much visible progress from ground level on the new entrance.
  • Page Number: 2
They were still working on the fins.
First stop Disneyland. Is this cart always out now or is this because of the Emporium work?
Speaking of which, no visible progress there either.
  • Page Number: 3
They were ready for a large crowd at Star Tours.
  • Page Number: 4
Not a bad wait this morning.
The scaffolding is down and the rocket is repainted.
  • Page Number: 5
Monorail Orange (and Blue) were running this morning, great to see two on the line again.
  • Page Number: 6
A look at the Buena Vista Street work from the monorail. Notice the new fountain, the pump house behind it, the red car tracks going in in front of the Carthay.. quite a bit of progress since my last look.
A closer look at the pump house
Here you can se the Red Car track going in.
  • Page Number: 7
More tarps up on the Carthay as the exterior will be going on soon.
    A closer look
The Cars 2 banners have been replaced with Winnie the Pooh in Downtown Disney.
  • Page Number: 8
    Heading back.
The new turnstiles have arrived. I would guess that means these will be open very soon.
  • Page Number: 9
  • Page Number: 10
Alice was down and a handful of CMs in the area checking it out.
A nice quiet morning on the Big Thunder trail.
  • Page Number: 11
The Mark Twain pulling into port.
  • Page Number: 12
For those of you who though the ODV carts would be gone with the new stand in Frontierland, looks like you were wrong.
The water on the Jungle Cruise was really turned up this morning.
  • Page Number: 13
Some random shots as we navigated the
  • Page Number: 14
One of the elephants is still backstage being worked on. (Funny how the Skipper referenced it hiding in the Jungle.. many on our boat did not get it since they seemed to be tourists).
  • Page Number: 15
    The wait times around 9:15am
  • Page Number: 16
Headed over to DCA for 9:30 when the gates opened. A tree has been placed just inside the new entrance.
    The Carthay from ground level.
  • Page Number: 17
A wider shot to show where the tree is.
The masses heading for Toy Story.
Not too bad of a score... we managed to get all the bonuses triggered. But still scored no where near the highs for the day/month.
  • Page Number: 18
Fireworks barges out for the special World of Color preshow this weekend.
    A closer look.
  • Page Number: 19
Paradise Gardens is now open, I will have more shots that you probably want to click through in a few pages.
The fireworks box from the Fun Wheel.
A check in at Cars Land.
  • Page Number: 20
Notice the walkway/road that is now going in between the gift shop and tire shop. You can just barely make out the cover in this picture.
This rock work is moving along slowly. Notice the couple workers.
  • Page Number: 21
The road/walkway coming from near Bugsland is taking shape.
  • Page Number: 22
Trying for a better shot of the end of the road. Looks like this will be the way in from Bugs once that connector gets built.
    The Carthay
  • Page Number: 23
Back on the ground and heading into Paradise Garden
Some finishing touches still need to be done, for example no parade speakers/lights here yet.
Wow! How is this for a dramatic change from the old parade route.
  • Page Number: 24
All the detail in this area is amazing. It is definitely up to what you expect from Disney. Small things like the variations in the ground. Look at the stonework under the entrance archway.
  • Page Number: 25
A little different than Pizza Mow Mow..
The seating area. Plenty of shade and fans. Wonder if heaters will be installed by next winter?
  • Page Number: 26
Is that a space for another sign or lighting above the awning?
There are plenty of trees, planters, and other things to break up the seating area.
  • Page Number: 27
Those were condiment stands.. one guess was right.
A look inside the Pizza/Pasta place, it was not open yet for the day. Opened at 11am.
  • Page Number: 28
This area was great. In amongst the trees is a Band Stand. The back faces the grill.
  • Page Number: 29
  • Page Number: 30
The band that will be performing later (I will have a couple clips in a few pages)
  • Page Number: 31
    The old PT Fleas building.
A look at the Garden Grill
I was a little disappointed with the menu, given my limited tastes nothing I would eat here.
  • Page Number: 32
A little tricky to get a shot of the sign on the building with all the other signs in the way.
The band stand is on the left in this shot.
  • Page Number: 33
The restrooms are in the same spot as before.
Getting ready to open for the day.
  • Page Number: 34
Decided to take a look in the restrooms. All the signage is new, but the tile work is the original.
  • Page Number: 35
Took a look at PTs old building. Interesting to note as I was taking pictures they were closing it up.. using chairs to block the entrances. Not sure why.
  • Page Number: 36
The side of the Band Stand.
  • Page Number: 37
    The lights look great.
  • Page Number: 38
But they are unfinished, or at least this one was (unless someone took the bulb)
One area I was wrong with my guesses. This structure is just a shady area to each. Thought this was going to be the band stand...

  • Page Number: 40
Doubled back to the Pizza & Pasta since it was 11am now and it was open.
  • Page Number: 41
  • Page Number: 42
Inside there are several stations and you go around and pick up your food then head to one of the two cash register areas. Pizza is in the middle
    Pasta is on the left.
  • Page Number: 43
One of the checkout areas (this is the one on the left when you enter, across from the Pasta)
A look at the menus and food.
    Everything is clearly labeled.
  • Page Number: 44
The kitchen areas are open so you can watch them prepare the dishes.
  • Page Number: 45
There are two beverage stations. One on each end (this is the one near the Pasta side)
  • Page Number: 46
    Desserts are by the registers

The other drink station by the Salads
    And the other cash registers.
  • Page Number: 54
Bayside Brews had not opened for the day yet.
  • Page Number: 55
Noticed a poster under the swings... so took a walk around.
There were a handful on the side facing the walkway, once you walked around back there were none (wonder if more are to come)
  • Page Number: 56

  • Page Number: 60
A closer look at the signs on the entrance arches
    Next up the Little Mermaid.

  • Page Number: 62
Odyssey was performing when we doubled back for lunch.
    A brief clip.
  • Page Number: 63

Bayside Brews was open. A look around.
  • Page Number: 67
A new candy store has popped up where the fortune cookie place was eons ago... this is on the corner of the Wharf area.
    The menu.
  • Page Number: 68
The reflections were terrible but here is an attempt or two to look inside.
  • Page Number: 69
A look at the connector from the Wharf to Cars Land.

My favorite shot, this really show cases this incredible project.
Here you can see how that new road will tie in.
A look at the new entrance.
  • Page Number: 73
The top features the Paradise Garden area.
  • Page Number: 74
Moving on to Bugsland. Noticed Francis standing in a planter. Is this the figure that used to be in the farm area? If so wonder if the others are coming over too?
    Goofy out for a stroll
  • Page Number: 75
Stopped by the Gallery on Main Street to check out some of the artwork. These Cars/Disneyland paintings were great!

  • Page Number: 94
The sound sound on the jet flyby was great!
  • Page Number: 95
There were quite a few fireworks too. I was not expecting as much.
  • Page Number: 96
I have to admit I was having some Luminaria flashbacks though, and happy I was not down toward the far end of the Red section, looked like the smoke was heading that way.
