Soundsational Summer banners line Downtown Disney
  • Page Number: 3
The current ads for annual passes on the ticket booths.
Not a lot of visible progress on the entrance as they are working on details and electrical it appears.
  • Page Number: 4
A couple of workers, they took the time to wave after this shot.
Surprised the fins are still behind tarps.
No visible progress on the lockers/guest relations side.
  • Page Number: 5
    The park side.
Most of the panels have covers on them now.
Over to the Carthay where some scaffolding is going up.
  • Page Number: 6
    Looks like forms for concrete
The walls have been moved around and some more Red Car rail is done. We will visit there later.
The pump house facade is taking shape.
  • Page Number: 7
More forms and rebar sticking up.
The extended queue area on the Bay Area side of Mermaid was full of strollers today.
A larger than usual crowd for Disney Channel Rocks. Wonder if this is a side effect of Mermaid or summer?
  • Page Number: 8
Two new signs on Ariels. One for her attraction.
And the other for the Fun Wheel.
They were using the WoC fountains for the Disney Channel Rocks show again.
  • Page Number: 9
Time for a spin on the Fun Wheel. We start off in the dining area. Looks like concrete work near the entrance.
Noticed the rails are in for the lines.
  • Page Number: 10
Hmm.. is this little shack for condiments?
Fresh looking concrete near the entrance archway.
  • Page Number: 11
A wider shot of the area.
    The Carthay
Maters is moving along, but not much is visible.
  • Page Number: 12
That is a lot of HVAC equipment on Flos
  • Page Number: 13
What a nice looking seating area. The round seating in a dining area seems like an interesting choice.
  • Page Number: 14
Now a look at the Cadillac Range.
  • Page Number: 15
  • Page Number: 16
Work on the entrance archway is slowly progressing.
  • Page Number: 17
    From the ground...
    From the swings.
  • Page Number: 18
Bayside Brews looks to be just about complete and ready to open.
  • Page Number: 19
The walls are back a bit and you can see one side of it.
  • Page Number: 20
The other entrance archway by Goofys is receiving its lights.
Speaking of Goofys CMs stationed out front to answer questions. They were doing some limited Cast Member testing it appeared, I saw a dozen or so walk up and on.
  • Page Number: 21
Some more signage/posters/etc.. are up in the queue.
    A look at them.
  • Page Number: 22
  • Page Number: 23
  • Page Number: 24
  • Page Number: 25
Wow a long line for Corn Dog Castle
Speaking of long line they had one set up for Mermaid, but it was not in use.
If you have never watched a custodial CM do a water image you really should..
  • Page Number: 26
  • Page Number: 27
Black out curtains are up now, my guess is they are gutting the building.
    From the Blue Sky patio.
  • Page Number: 28
It is amazing that all the rock work is hand carved.
  • Page Number: 29
Here you can see they are starting to paint, from the bottom up some more of the rocks in the foreground.
The Blue Sky Cellar was open so stopped by.
  • Page Number: 30
Had the place to myself for a few moments..
Always fun to compare the concepts to what was built. Here are Goofys Fastpass machines.
And one of the posters in the queue.
  • Page Number: 31
Some new pictures in the display case at the end of the hallway.
The Mermaid shots are gone and Goofy has gone in.
  • Page Number: 32
    No other changes
I read that this walkway will be closing this weekend.
  • Page Number: 33
Over to the Backlot. The walls in the center of the street are gone and the rail work is partially done. On the North side there are some low walls up.
At first I thought it may be a curb removal project, but looks like the walls are on the edge of the curb, so maybe light post work?
  • Page Number: 34
A long shot to show the rail heading into the main construction area now.
But interesting to note they did not finish the brick on the Disney Junior side of the street. Guess that has to wait till they redo that concrete too.
Where the rail stops or at least heads under the wall.
  • Page Number: 35
Star Tours is open and the poster is updated.
Main Street is in its Red, White, and Blue summer mode.
  • Page Number: 36
    The waits around 2:30pm
  • Page Number: 37
Ready for a large crowd for Star Tours but not in use yet today.
This just seems like way too big of a hat to manage at the parks.. but it was cool to see (seems I ran into this guy a half dozen times throughout the afternoon)
Fastpasses were gone before lunch I heard.
  • Page Number: 38
The line stretched to Star Trader.
The rocket is under wraps for some paint.
  • Page Number: 39
Star Trader has a large assortment of Star Tours merchandise now.
Quite a few as part of this Launch Collection.
  • Page Number: 40
The shop still extends into the former arcade area.
A promotion on Captian EO merchandise.
  • Page Number: 41
Innoventions was still using the reverse entrance. Wonder if this is here to stay or if there is work still going on. The building was spinning and I walked through and saw nothing too interesting going on inside.
A couple shots from the monorail (goofed on the focus but you can at least get the drift of what is going on behind the walls.
  • Page Number: 42
    Heading around front the entrance.
  • Page Number: 43
    Buzz near Innoventions
Trying to show where the Star Tours line goes, that mob in front of Star Trader is the line.
    Looking down the main walkway.
  • Page Number: 44
    Roger was down.
    As was the Go Coaster.
    Time for the parade.
  • Page Number: 45
Since I have shot it several times this time played around and tried to get some detail shots I had not before.
  • Page Number: 46
    She was not rotating around.
  • Page Number: 47
  • Page Number: 48
  • Page Number: 49
Walked through the BBQ to check out their summer overlay.
  • Page Number: 50
  • Page Number: 51
  • Page Number: 52
    Big Thunder has re-opened.
The Golden Horseshoe is still under wraps.
  • Page Number: 53
    And the Balcony closed.
The Billies are performing their normal schedule.
Due to the cooler weather the Splash Mtn line was not too bad, or maybe it was Star Tours drawing the crowds instead.
  • Page Number: 54
The small walkway that goes over the Splash turn around and connects Critter Country to the Harbor Galley is open again.
    Just before 5pm.
  • Page Number: 55
The R2D2 popcorn buckets are available. I liked how they put a limit of 4 per guest on the sign.
Tomorrowland Terrace has an offering too.
  • Page Number: 56
For an idea of size here it is by other cups.
Tomorrowland is very crowded now with Star Tours open.
The Railroad was down. It was in the process of re-opening during the Flag Retreat.
  • Page Number: 57
The gift shop on the city hall side of the street as you head under the train tracks is open again.
The counter area looks smaller to me. I thought it stretched the entire store before.
Hmm.. the area at the end of Main Street was set up for Wheel Chairs only. Guess this is because of the extended Star Tours queue taking their regular space.
  • Page Number: 58
You can also buy R2 on Main Street.
Did not notice it on the way in, but the banners on the reverse side of the Soundsational Summer ones in Downtown Disney are for Star Tours.
  • Page Number: 59
    This store is open now.
  • Page Number: 60
Out at the hotel the walkway leading along the old pool is completely walled off now. So to reach the Wonder tower, pool area, etc.. you have to walk around the Dreams Tower.
The Dream Tower lobby looks the same..
Heading toward the pool area. In the background is the Wonder Tower. In the foreground the small geyser/hot spring area.
  • Page Number: 61
Heading down the trail to the Wonder Tower
The geyser area. That is the Wonder Tower on the right.
Thought the rail looked great how they painted it, especially with the setting sun.
  • Page Number: 62
I hung around a while and checked back a second time and never saw anything besides this steam/fog coming out. I thought I read/heard it was supposed to erupt on occasion..
Work on the Magic Tower is moving along.
  • Page Number: 63
They had repainted the fireplace screen (it had wet paint signs on it).
    The menu for Trader Sams
  • Page Number: 64
    A look inside.
There is also a bigger book.
  • Page Number: 65
    A look at that.
  • Page Number: 66
The old Neverland Pool area is being cleared to be upgraded to the new E-Ticket pool.
Spinning around to look at the D-Ticket pool area that is open.
  • Page Number: 67
Looks like they are going to resurface the pool if nothing else. They are breaking it up.
The fence and landscaping along the main walkway has been ripped out.
  • Page Number: 68
The old entrance to the pool area is cleared.
Plants being boxed up and moved around.
  • Page Number: 69
    A great balloon someone had.
The pool hours are 6am to 10pm but they did not have the hours of the slides posted.
    Back to the geyser area.
  • Page Number: 70
The waterfalls were not on this afternoon.
  • Page Number: 71
The maps have not been updated yet.
    Set up for a wedding.
  • Page Number: 72
Cars posters on the AMC building.
    Back to DCA.
A closer look at one of the outcroppings.
  • Page Number: 73
I found this to be a bit tacky/off putting to have the walk around vendors that roam the World of Color area out on the Pier.
A closer look at some of the new fire/flame throwing equipment.
  • Page Number: 74
The one that does the three streams
    The original ones.
One of the ones that can swivel around.
  • Page Number: 75
    Paradise Park does look nice.
    A couple random Mermaid shots..
  • Page Number: 76
Caught this sign off to the side. So in the morning before park opening if you stay at one of the three Disney Hotels you can get onto Mermaid early.
The lights were on at Goofys (I will circle back when it gets darker)
  • Page Number: 77
Hmm.. noticed this on the backlot.
The Electronica crew was out interacting with guests.
  • Page Number: 78
Some Cars artwork in Off the Page
Vinylmation and Ears in collectors boxes
  • Page Number: 79
This area was roped off. Not sure why, no signs of work.
The Cars poster is new, or at least new to me.
  • Page Number: 80
I just enjoy hanging out in the Animation lobby..
The Electronica booths were all open well before the evening festivities begin.
As of 8pm they still had tickets for the 10:15 show.
  • Page Number: 81
There were a couple raft loads of brave (or crazy) guests on GRR in the cool evening.
It was finally getting dark enough to check out Goofys.
  • Page Number: 82
    And Bayside Brews
I thought the lighting on the clouds was great (it did not photograph that well).
  • Page Number: 83
  • Page Number: 84
  • Page Number: 85
  • Page Number: 86
  • Page Number: 87
  • Page Number: 88
Time for Laser Man, wanted to see the current show one last time. There is a new one premiering the 17th.
  • Page Number: 89
  • Page Number: 90
Over to Disneyland. A shot of the Mary Blair sign at work.
  • Page Number: 91
    A couple random Magical shots.
  • Page Number: 92
On the way into the garage they were handing out flyers for Duffy.
Over at the Disneyana store they had these flyers/post cards for the upcoming Chip Foose event
    The backside.
