This page is to help you quickly jump through this picture set. Below you will see a listing of the pages and the captions on that page.

  • Page Number: 1
We start off with a shot of the Magic Tower progress from the garage.
Moving on to the DCA entrance work. Some of the tarps are down so you can see some of the front.
The fins are looking rather complete.
  • Page Number: 2
    The back side.
Not a lot of visible progress on the Carthay.
Scaffolding and tarps up around the pump house. Also could make out some framing behind.
  • Page Number: 3
They had the extended queue for the Little Mermaid set up.
A bunch of CMs out front, but no indication of when or if they were going to open.
    Disney Channel Rocks going on.
  • Page Number: 4
Time for some Fun Wheel shots.
    Cycling a car on Goofys
  • Page Number: 5
They were pouring concrete in the dining area.
    A closer look
The Pizza place is moving along and a lot of details are emerging now.
  • Page Number: 6
  • Page Number: 7
  • Page Number: 8
Moving on to Cars Land. Here is a shot of Maters
Some color going up on the Cadillac Range
  • Page Number: 9
Walls up around the backstage gate and transition from the Wharf to Cars Land.
Random shot of the gift shop that opened last week.
  • Page Number: 10
    Some shots around Cars Land.
  • Page Number: 11
  • Page Number: 12
A closer shot of the new wall.
Here you can see more of the wall and tell where the gate will be.
  • Page Number: 13
A wider shot of the dining area.
  • Page Number: 14
The Carthay from the Fun Wheel
Over on the Racers they had a crane lifting what looks to be the supports for the track into place. So guess that means the circuit will be closed soon.
Notice all the supports that are in.
  • Page Number: 15
The rock work is all the way down to the track on the turn.
  • Page Number: 16
Another crane parked in the back.
Nothing going on in the park. So guess it is done for now.
More dirt being moved around behind the Cozy Cones, looks like they were hauling it away.
  • Page Number: 17
From ground level the entrance to the dining area.
A rare site. All the World of Color platforms submerged and no work going on.
The new food shack (every keeps referring to it as Bayside Brews so I have too)
  • Page Number: 18
    From the swings area.
Looks like the final touches going in. I would venture to guess this will be open in the next week or so, or at least ready to open.
More detail emerging on the covered seating along the parade route.
  • Page Number: 19
The sign for Goofys is up.
The other entrance arch moving along.
  • Page Number: 20
    From the Jellyfish now.
  • Page Number: 21
I think the fence and detail around the fence looks great from here.
  • Page Number: 22
  • Page Number: 23
Looks to be an extended queue option for Mermaid.
More of the extended queue. Wonder if they are going to drill in poles, notice the markings on the ground.
  • Page Number: 24
There were a bunch of CMs out front, so an opening looked like it was going to happen soon so I hung around.
Killing some time waiting to see what was going to happen.
As luck would have it they opened the queue just before 2:00pm and I was back only a handful of groups from the front.
  • Page Number: 25
There is the front of the line with the CM setting pace. I pausing for photos.
  • Page Number: 26
Throwing open the doors, you can see the ride cycling inside.
A look down at the Pier. We did not use much of the outside queue since I was near the front.
Heading back toward the building, as you transition to the walkway near the door.
  • Page Number: 27
Made it into the building. Many were commenting on that new attraction smell (fresh paint)
  • Page Number: 28
    Looking out to the queue.
The first riders of the day.
An ok shot of the mural behind the load area.
  • Page Number: 29
The exit area, notice the arrows on the ground pointing away from the clam shells to help you figure out which way is out.
    On board and heading in.
  • Page Number: 30
First past the CM control area (a touch screen system plus the usual assortment of buttons and switches, indicators).
Want to apologize, on this first pass through I had the wide lens on the camera in one hand and the video camera in the other since I did not know if I would make it on again I tried to multitask with mixed results.
Here is the video, not that good but you can at least get a feel for the attraction and pacing which the stills do not provide.
  • Page Number: 31
Scuttle is setting up the attraction, he is telling the story so we experience it from his point of view/memory.
    Heading under the sea..
  • Page Number: 32
First up Part of Your World. When you ride be sure to notice where Sebastian pops up.
Next up the big Under the Sea number.
  • Page Number: 33
Keep your eyes open, there are quite a few animated characters scattered around the room.
    Ariel hanging out.
  • Page Number: 34
Also wanted to note to pay attention to the audio. It comes from outside the clam shell and you can hear the different instruments, etc.. coming from them in some cases, like this one.
Jetsam and Floatsam are awaiting around the next corner.
  • Page Number: 35
Then you enter the grotto with Ursula.
Ariel is transformed and given legs.
  • Page Number: 36
Heading into the Kiss the Girl scene
  • Page Number: 37
The kiss to ruin Ursulas plan.
  • Page Number: 38
    The finale scene.
  • Page Number: 39
Scuttle wraps things up as you head to the unload area.
After exiting. Here is looking back at the unload area (and the wheelchair entrance).
    A wheelchair chariot going by.
  • Page Number: 40
Heading out. That is the entrance on the right.
Noticed they had signs out now about the sneak preview. I hopped in line again. It was posted as a 30 minute wait and it took about 20 minutes from when I entered till I was walking off.
They line had filled in since my first trip and word was out that the attraction was open.
  • Page Number: 41
Since we used more of the queue this time around, here are some shots. The plants look like sea life.
Some great detail around the queue.
  • Page Number: 42
But still a couple odd choices, like the speakers that line the main archway. Wonder if covers are coming soon. They looked odd and out of place.
Do not forget to look down, the concrete has seashells in it.
  • Page Number: 43
    More of the plants.
Oops someone got blue paint on this.
The suns rays behind Ariel move.
  • Page Number: 44
    Inside the speakers are covered.
A look a the clam shell. I saw a couple families of four squeeze into it but in reality two adults and maybe a small child is the comfortable max.
  • Page Number: 45
The belt on the load platform.
This time around went with a tighter lens, so and knowing what was coming helped with the picture quality...

  • Page Number: 55
From the Blue Sky Cellar patio
  • Page Number: 56
Since this update is already long enough if you want to see more shots of the rock work check out the construction progress section
The back of the pump house work.
Some Tinkerbell merchandise in the doorway of Greetings from California
  • Page Number: 57
Noticed the ticket booths have some attraction posters now in addition to just movies (or Disney Channel stuff)
  • Page Number: 58
    Next stop Disneyland.
Main Street is decked out for the 4th of July (and Memorial Day)
  • Page Number: 59
Guests already lining the street for the parade and it was only quarter to three so they had over an hour wait still.
    The waits around 2:45pm
  • Page Number: 60
They had both buses going today, seems like it has been a while since I have seen that.
They had the queue for Star Tours stretching to Main Street but it was not needed. The wait was 45 min and filled just the Tomorrowland area.
  • Page Number: 61
    They had Fastpass running today.
    The new machines.
  • Page Number: 62
Seems like they tried to simplify the instructions.
A couple Monorail shots, only blue was running Friday.
A closer look, looks like the trench for the pipes for the fountain.
  • Page Number: 63
Looks like the second floor is being prepped for concrete.
    Heading back to the park.
  • Page Number: 64
    A closer shot.
Work on the exterior of the Golden Horseshoe goes on, but it is open now.
  • Page Number: 65
Speaking of open the new snack place is.. more shots in a few pages.
Inside the horseshoe they had the balcony closed.
The Billies seemed happy to be back inside.
  • Page Number: 66
No real noticeable changes, but it was full and dark so a little hard to tell.
    The full menu is back.
  • Page Number: 67
The Stage Door Cafe has reopened too.
  • Page Number: 68
Now onto the new snack location, I did not see a name anywhere, anyone know it?
Looks like they combined the carts and lemonade stand into one location.
    The menu.
  • Page Number: 69
  • Page Number: 70
So the building that was being worked on is just the break room and I guess storage room for the boat CMs.
  • Page Number: 71
The Main Street stores interiors have been switched to summer displays too.
    Here is one.
  • Page Number: 72
Waiting for the parade. A band from Arizona was the pre-parade.
Time for the parade. Again want to apologize in advance since I did both video and stills at the same time.
  • Page Number: 73
    Here is the video.
I will keep my comments to a min since I think you can figure it out from the shot for these...

After the parade I was heading out to the hotels so walked along side it for a while.
There were employees inside the shoe store, looked to be stocking the shelves.
  • Page Number: 96
    A promotion next weekend.
A new Mickey handbag at Vault Disney
If handbags are not your thing, how about this sign at Island Charters
  • Page Number: 97
The Lego Store has a Star Wars promotion this weekend. They are building an 8ft R2D2 out of legos.
And you can help.. there are tables and stations set up outside the store.
  • Page Number: 98
A look at their progress as Day 1 was coming to an end.
A smaller model of what he will look like
Apricot Lane is also open now (thought it was not opening till June).
  • Page Number: 99
  • Page Number: 100
Walls are now up around the Neverland Pool as they prepare for the next phase of construction (the pool was open Friday).
  • Page Number: 101
More walls.. which still lead to a dead end.
The full lobby of the Dreams Tower was open. Here is a quick look around. It is not complete yet.
  • Page Number: 102
Guess my comment/guess last week that this is temporary was incorrect. Looks like it is here to stay (I say this based on the Wonder Tower we will visit in a few pages)
An emergency exit. Kind of surprised no signs saying do not enter.
  • Page Number: 103
They are still finishing up the exterior it looked like.
The two new dining locations are open for business. To get there you have to go around the outside of the Dreams Tower and enter on the pathway near the rose court.
  • Page Number: 104
    Here is the entrance
A new outdoor seating area with a large fireplace.
  • Page Number: 105
Trader Sams (we will visit there in a while)
A wider shot of the fireplace area. That is the Wonder Tower in the background.
  • Page Number: 106
The new pool deck, it was not open Friday, but looks ready to go.
  • Page Number: 107
Walking back toward the Wonder Tower (which will soon be the Frontierland Tower).
A garden/lawn area sits where some of the waterfalls and ponds used to be.
    Looking back.
  • Page Number: 108
The lobby was open so headed in to check it out.
A very minimal and relaxed feel.
  • Page Number: 109
The centerpiece is a large model of Big Thunder.
  • Page Number: 110
Now a look at the model
  • Page Number: 111
  • Page Number: 112
  • Page Number: 113

The restrooms in the building have been redone too.
    The wallpaper
  • Page Number: 116
    Heading back outside
  • Page Number: 117
Discovered it was a challenge to get a clear shot of the pool with trees, poles, fences in the way.
    Almost had one..
  • Page Number: 118
The pool deck from the opposite side.
    On the gates.
  • Page Number: 119
Walked back around to the new dining locations.
    There is patio seating available.
For those that do not get it, Trader Sam is the head salesman at the end of the Jungle Cruise.
  • Page Number: 120
Inside it is a bar, very small but a lot of detail.
  • Page Number: 121
A couple of the items on the walls.
  • Page Number: 122
    The rules..
    Back outside.
  • Page Number: 123
As you can see they had the waterfall on.
    The bridge over the pool
Looking toward the old pool. You can see they do not connect. Also they had a lift out that would help wheel chair bound guests get into the water.
  • Page Number: 124
Also notice the water slides do not connect to the pool.
  • Page Number: 125
  • Page Number: 126
    The Magic Tower progress.
Time to check out the quick service dining (think their equivalent to White Water Snacks at the Grand CA).
  • Page Number: 127
It is a self service order/kiosk.
    With an open kitchen
And the cash registers on the far side.
  • Page Number: 128
    The menu.
Several grab and go items that do not require you to order.

More seating outside, overlooking the pool.
    The trashcans
  • Page Number: 133
Walls up around the Neverland Pool area.
Thought this was interesting. The gas line comes out separate and then connects to the poles. Guessing some sort of CA code. Wonder if covers will be going on that.
  • Page Number: 134
  • Page Number: 135
    A fire going already.
Walked over to the Grand and then out to Downtown Disney. Saw this display at Studio 365.
  • Page Number: 136
    The wait times around 5:40pm
Continuing the island nature after the hotel.. a couple shots of the Tiki Room and Dole Whip counter as I walked by.

The hearse is back at the Haunted Mansion (forgot to check last week)
    Splash Mountain has re-opened.
  • Page Number: 139
I did not ride and from what I could tell the logs looked the same.
Waiting for the parade... noticed they have lights on the Mary Blair sign.
    Another band before this parade.
  • Page Number: 140
    CMs counting the crowd
    Time for the parade.
  • Page Number: 141

While walking by Redwood Creek overhead a CM tell a child not to play with the bears nails as they will break.
Noticed several were broken on the upper paw.
  • Page Number: 157
    Time for Mermaid again...
Still leaving the Disney Channel Rocks stuff out.
The lights add to it, the speakers still stand out to me though..
  • Page Number: 158
The large lights were not on (or not on yet).
More of the plants since I was in line for quite a while this time around.
