  • Page Number: 1
Work on the new entrance for DCA is moving along. They appear to have the support structure in place and are starting to add the other elements.
Looking over toward Disneyland the sky is a bit threatening this afternoon (no rain in the forecast)
  • Page Number: 2
Not much visible progress from this angle.
A good size crowd in the park today.
The concrete wall has been poured. Wonder if this is part of the back wall of the building or a retaining wall. Hard to tell.
  • Page Number: 3
The Cars Land rock work is looking great and filling in the view.
The new Cars 2 Meet and and Greet area is open.
As well as a small merchandise cart.
  • Page Number: 4
The Cars are sporting some new decals but other than that appear to be the same two that used to be in Condor Flats.
  • Page Number: 5
The tallest tailfin has been covered and so has the gap to the left as they work their way across the range.
  • Page Number: 6
Work on the dome near the Mermaid building is moving along. They are repainting it to match the new building.
The columns have been darkened, also notice work on the left for the new attraction sign.
Back to Cars Land, no visible progress here.
  • Page Number: 7
Looks like they have finished the main roof of the building. The blue now goes all the way to the front.
They were not using the fountains again for Disney Channel Rocks.
  • Page Number: 8
The assembled crowd for the show.
More details are starting to emerge in the park area.
And more of the fence is covered now.
  • Page Number: 9
While waiting for the Fun Wheel snapped this shot showing the new colors for the dome.. more shots in later.
Now for a spin on the wheel. A better look at the new wall and decorative elements in the park area.
The railings have been painted and they repainted the tree boxes. No more red.
  • Page Number: 10
Some shots of the dining area now (I was on the Cars side of the car, so these are not the best)
A lot of scaffolding up over at Goofys
  • Page Number: 11
The new tower looks great, and fairly large from this angle.
Over to Maters. Notice what looks to be the start of something just to the right of the center of this shot. Is that the pad for one of the footers of the turn tables.
Panning over to the main part of Cars Land
  • Page Number: 12
Here you can see they have passed the midway point of the Cadillac Range with only two fins to go.
  • Page Number: 13
A lot of work going on in the Mermaid queue area.
Docs and Flos building is taking shape.
Not much visible progress out here.
  • Page Number: 14
    The Racers show building.
    A random shot toward Disneyland.
A look over at the Sky School.
  • Page Number: 15
The forms are going in for the concrete work around the new seating area.
Surprised that more concrete near the gift shop had not been poured, guessing the rain is slowing things down a bit.
  • Page Number: 16
A look at the Mermaid entrance.
  • Page Number: 17
    From across the Bay..
The Spring break crowds are still around, even with the cool weather.
  • Page Number: 18
A closer look at some of the recently painted areas.
Did they repaint the paddle to be wood looking?
  • Page Number: 19
The old Cars Meet and Greet area is now just an empty area. All the props are gone.
  • Page Number: 20
Disney Junior has opened and replaced Playhouse Disney.
I like the new building look, but the graphics on the sign seemed a little too much. The modern graphics just seem out of place.
  • Page Number: 21
There is a new loop while you wait in line.
All the signage has been updated, even the stroller signs.
  • Page Number: 22
Inside nothing really jumped out at me as being changed except the Disney Junior logo everywhere.
The show itself was basically the same except they swapped out Winnie the Pooh with Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
  • Page Number: 23
Here are some random shots from the show...

  • Page Number: 32
I tried to get a video clip of the new segment but found out my little Vado camera does not really like the stage lighting. Here is the clip for anyone who wants to see a bad clip (I am sure some other site/Youtube will have clean clip of the show up if there is not already).
Next up the Animation Building and its new set of clips that plays in the lobby. I walked in as the Lion King was wrapping up and then when I was ready to start taking Pictures, Cars had taken over.
  • Page Number: 33
Here is a video clip of the Cars Segment.

    Another brief clip.
  • Page Number: 46
Back outside. Noticed this elecTRONica stuff, I do not remember this from my last visit.
A long line for Tower today.
A long line for the womens restroom in Bugs too. I think its because Aladdin let out recently.
  • Page Number: 47
Some shots of the Cars Land work from near the Blue Sky Cellar
  • Page Number: 48
For more shots be sure to check out the Construction Progress section.
  • Page Number: 49
Walking around to the front of the Mermaid Building.
A good shot showing the direction the paint job is heading in.
  • Page Number: 50
Trees are going in on the left side of the building.
A nice wide shot of the building.
  • Page Number: 51
I never really noticed how the Disney Channel Rocks equipment was set up. Looks like they just drilled some holes into the boxes. Surprised they did not come back to paint or have plugs for when the show is not set up.
    Goofys water tower.
The roof structure for the seating area along the parade route is being installed.
  • Page Number: 52
Hard to tell much about the park from this angle, Screamin is in the way.
They were working on the railings/curb around planters that are near the bay.
  • Page Number: 53
The new structure between the Swings and Jellyfish is taking shape.
Another shot of the roof supports.
They were cleaning the parade route concrete.
  • Page Number: 54
  • Page Number: 55
Looks like the roof is finished on Mermaid.
The covered thing in the arch appears to be a speaker.
  • Page Number: 56
Cut through the bakery on the way out to get some shots since it was not busy.
    Noticed they have Duffy items.
  • Page Number: 57
    Heading out.
Over at Disneyland all the walls are finally down and not much has changed.
  • Page Number: 58
A sign up for the evenings festivities.
The other planter that was behind walls.
  • Page Number: 59
    They are repainting the Emporium.
  • Page Number: 60
Do not worry, it is open for business.
  • Page Number: 61
The wait times around 3pm, not too bad really.
The walls in Frontierland have been pushed back a bit so some of the walkway is open. It is still really tight in the area though.
Work continues in New Orleans Square too.
  • Page Number: 62
A random Snow White shirt I saw while stuck in a crowd.
    Hmm.. Doritos have re-appeared.
    Work continues on Splash Mountain.
  • Page Number: 63
    The Hungry Bear has reopened.
It is sporting an updated menu with some new selections.
The kids meal options seem the same.
  • Page Number: 64
    Some new desserts
A shot of a couple of them.
  • Page Number: 65
    The main meals
  • Page Number: 66
I like the Big Al tribute.
Also nice to see the Country Bear signage stayed.
  • Page Number: 67
A look at the new fries and onion rings.
    Stopped by the restrooms...
Noticed a hand dryer, believe this is new.
  • Page Number: 68
Over to Frontierland. Here you can see the choke point I mentioned with the wall.
Another sign for the sneak peek.
Looks like this will be a meet and greet area.
  • Page Number: 69
A merchandise cart near the entrance.
Another one near the roundup entrance
    The Spring signage is up.
  • Page Number: 70
Tangled is still pulling in a long line.
Fantasyland had a lot of people, but not gridlock...
    A new popcorn/cotton candy bucket.
  • Page Number: 71
Or at least new to me.
    Some ducklings in the park.
No real visible progress in Tomorrowland.
  • Page Number: 72
Innoventions has some work going on so you enter by hiking up the usual exit ramp.
You exit through one of the pods. The lower level is not rotating.
Not a bad line for Autopia (they were not using the switchbacks)
  • Page Number: 73
    A look down on Tomorrowland.
  • Page Number: 74
Here you can see most of the pavers are gone.
    Heading into Innoventions.
  • Page Number: 75
There was a wall up to try and get you to walk around the upper level vs making a quick turn for the stairs.
On the lower level the outter ring was walled off, but the Dream House was open. Spotted a CM in the background rehearsing.
One of the curtains/walls to stop you from going to the outter ring.
  • Page Number: 76
Next up the monorail. (sorry these got a bit over exposed)
    The left side
    The right side
  • Page Number: 77
    The new entrance.
  • Page Number: 78
    Now from the park side.
The Monorail station steps are complete.
  • Page Number: 79
Work is moving along at the Disney Hotel Magic Tower. They look to have the bottom half windows swapped out.
Out by the pool the water slide looks to be just about installed, guessing the monorails may be coming soon.
  • Page Number: 80
The exterior of the restaurant building is going back on.
Another shot of the water slide.
  • Page Number: 81
A look over the walls shows a lot of forms for concrete in place
The windows in the wall were quite dirty after the rain.. maybe someone will clean them before the next trip...
  • Page Number: 82
Signage for the new shops is up.
  • Page Number: 83
The walls by La Brea Bakery are down.
    The waits around 5:30
  • Page Number: 84
Pirates have taken over the ranch.
Captain Jack coming out for some pictures.
    Checking out his set.
  • Page Number: 85
  • Page Number: 86
Another of the service dog areas.. this one along the trail.
The merchandise cart open for business (I was in line so could not go look at it)
They moved the line and I ended up near the pond across from Big Thunder. Quite a ways back but made it in with no problem to the first showing.
  • Page Number: 87
A sign about filming. This was up but no announcement was made so most were a bit confused as to when the restriction started. Turns out it was just for the film clip which makes sense.
A lot of the Disneyland brass was out to check out the opening. That is the president in the middle of the shot.
Sorry for the blur, but we were moving and I could not really stop..
  • Page Number: 88
Did get one clear shot of the peg legged parrot.
Some signs decorating the petting zoo area which was the holding pen for the theater.
  • Page Number: 89
Waiting for the doors to open.
Some Pirates roaming the crowd. Anyone recognize this Pirate?
  • Page Number: 90
We were let in just before 7:30.
  • Page Number: 91
There were some pirates up on the rigging that interacted/entertained the crowd while we were seated.
  • Page Number: 92
    Some props lines the sides.
  • Page Number: 93
  • Page Number: 94
A very brief video clip while we waited. Due to where I was and the lighting I figured it would not come out so only took a brief one.
  • Page Number: 95
Show time. A Pirate comes out to warn us and explain what is going on.
He picks a first mate to read the warning.
  • Page Number: 96
After the clip (no photography allowed during the film). The Pirates were hanging around (once you see the clip this will make sense)
  • Page Number: 97
On the way out I took the long way and got a couple more shots of the area. There really was not time to linger due to them wanting to cycle everyone out and get the next show in.
  • Page Number: 98
On the way out Captain Jack was talking to people. This created a problem since everyone wanted to stop and see/listen to him and they really needed us to keep moving.
  • Page Number: 99
I circled back to the merchandise carts.
    And the beverage cart.
  • Page Number: 100
  • Page Number: 101
Still no hearse out at Haunted Mansion
Madam Leota is floating again though.
  • Page Number: 102
No croc or eels but the dragon did appear during Fantasmic.
Unfortunately the dragon did not want to leave the stage though, so they had to run the screens and try to hide it during the finale.
By over exposing the shot managed to get a picture with the Mark Twain and dragon.
  • Page Number: 103
When the fireworks hit the mist screen it caused quite a bit of smoke. It did a great job of hiding the dragon but also hid the finale from us.
    Mickey is up there somewhere.
    There he is, sort of.
  • Page Number: 104
Nice to see they threw the logo up on the screens at the end.
  • Page Number: 105
Within a few minutes after the show the screens were off and the dragon gone.
  • Page Number: 106
The handout you were given at the garage and the time guide with the Sneak Peek listed.
    The back of the flyer.
