We start off bright and early heading to the Mickey and Friends garage. While driving down Katella tried to get a good shot of the tank (well I did not since I was driving but recruited a helper)
Parked the car and headed for the Disneyland Hotel. A better shot than I normally have of the work on the far side of the garage
All the trams ready to go for the day.

Quite a few others had the same idea as me to park and walk vs dealing with the hotel parking.
The Maliboomer was still standing but scaffolding all the way up now.
Spent the next four hours at Destination D. Look for a special section in our D23 area covering this event.

We had a lunch break at noon. So I headed for Disneyland to grab a bite to eat.
    Took the monorail over.
No visible changes from this angle (and I could not get a shot through the wall)

Main Street traffic is back to normal after the few weeks of rail work.

After lunch had to make a quick run out to the car. Noticed more of the Indy camouflage is up.

They did not use the outdoor lot (yet). I walked back and spent the next 4 hours at Destination D.
Dinner break was around 5:45pm. I took a quick peek at the Disneyland Hotel work (but the sun was in a bad spot, so I apologize for the pics)

We walked through DD, vouchers were available for the Cars screening. Anyone go to this? Curious how it was.
A small army of TDA folks with balloons at the security tents. Not sure what was going on.

No visible progress on the mural.
    But elecTRONica is moving along.

The old parade gate was open so you can see some of the tail fins taking shape for the Cadillac range. Int he foreground is Flos
The Maliboomer as the sun is setting

A pan from right to left. The shakes building is rubble now.
PT Fleas is gone.. moved up the road.
One last look at the fins.

    Looking back at the Mountains.

Now around to Mermaid where you can see more scaffolding going up and concrete on the exterior.
  • Page Number: 15
    A closer look
Noticed the light that was gone (on the bottom) is back.
  • Page Number: 16
The PT Flea building is close to its new location.
  • Page Number: 17
It looks to be right next to the new foundation and still on its wheels awaiting final placement.
Is this all they used to push/pull it?
  • Page Number: 18
To make a path they removed the planters.
  • Page Number: 19
Now a spin on the Fun Wheel. It was about 7pm so quite dark but luckily with a longer shutter speed you could still get some ok shots.
The buildings are really taking shape now.
Some of the concrete forms are down in the tire pit.

Lizzies is frames already. Will this be the first building done?
Looking down in the dining area looks like the planters have been removed.

  • Page Number: 22
  • Page Number: 23
    Where PTs used to be.
The farm gang stilling hanging out backstage. They actually look pretty good there and its something to see from the Fun Wheel.
Toy Story reopens soon (on Sunday it sounded like it was cycling.. you could hear the door latches opening and being closed).
