I had not noticed this Italian Sorbet stand at DD before.
Place your bets.. will ticket prices go up this weekend.. the last several years the first weekend of August has been the date...
Heading into DCA the World of Color signs were still up.
  • Page Number: 2
Another large one out by GRR, guess they have been having problems with people not being in the park.. remember all members of your party have to go through the turnstyle at the park entrance to get a Fastpass (once in the park only one person needs to take all the tickets to get the Fastpass)
Progress is slow, but steady on the exterior of the Little Mermaid.

  • Page Number: 4
Notice the framing is up for the back side of the arch.
The play fountain was running today (also notice the center and left section of the World of Color platform are at show level today).
  • Page Number: 5
The insulation is in and just waiting to be sealed up.
  • Page Number: 6
    From the Zephyr
  • Page Number: 7
Cable trays/track waiting to be installed.
Over under the swings, did they swap out the speakers? I need to go look at the old photos, these just stuck out to me on this trip.
  • Page Number: 8
More steel being lowered into place for Cars Land
They have painted a bunch of the steel on the right side of the project when looking from the Fun Wheel.
  • Page Number: 9
    Not much visible over here.
Guessing this is for Flos V8 Cafe
  • Page Number: 10
The side by side track is making its way around the curve.
    A closer look
  • Page Number: 11
The test track is all gone now.
The steel for the rock work that will cover the front of the show building is moving along.
  • Page Number: 12
Looks like all the steel is in place for the building and they are starting on the roof.
I like this shot to show the scale. Notice the couple of workers in this shot.
  • Page Number: 13
Over to the Little Mermaid building where the roof is moving along.
A better shot of the new structure.
  • Page Number: 14
  • Page Number: 15
The painted steel from the ground.
  • Page Number: 16
    From the Wharf area.
Looks like concrete has been sprayed on the other side (or something put under the mesh)
    A closer look
  • Page Number: 17
Here is a good shot of how the scaffolding is working/supported.
  • Page Number: 18
    The walkway is still closed
But the walls have been pushed back on the other side, so now Tower is using its regular entrance and Fastpass is back.
  • Page Number: 19
    Where the track ends/begins.
    The curve
You can see the light poles in the background. I would think this new permanent walkway will be opening very soon.
  • Page Number: 20
A couple wider shots of the area.
  • Page Number: 21
Notice the new gate/door taking shape.
    A closer look.
A healthy wait for Tower today.
  • Page Number: 22
Where the other gate will be
This area between Tower and the Hyperion is still walled off.. seems like nothing is happening over here.
  • Page Number: 23
    Stopped by the Animation building.
    Only one food truck today.
Star Tours closed earlier this week. They put up a black curtain and banner saying relaunching in 2011, other than that nothing is visible from outside.
  • Page Number: 24
  • Page Number: 25
As I exited Captain EO there was a crowd of people for Buzz.. a bad spot for photos with Space Mountain exit, Captain EO, and this this crowd/line.
Over at Alice no visible progress.
  • Page Number: 26
  • Page Number: 27
I read a couple new effects are working in Snow White, but the line was out the door, longer than my patience.
Over at Big Thunder the sound was really off.. the train was around the corner as it just started playing.
Pocahontas out for photos along the trail.
  • Page Number: 28
Guns have recently returned to some of the Disneyland stores.. all plastic and brightly colored.
    The waits around 4:45
Over to DCA.. the water in the Bay is looking rather brown.. still can see the pipes/cables though.
  • Page Number: 29
A couple random Pixar Play Parade shots, the Ratatouille unit is back for the summer.
Since there was no real wait went for a spin on the Fun Wheel. They were testing the WoC fountains.
  • Page Number: 30
    The circle has been closed.
  • Page Number: 31
Not much visible progress on the other buildings.
  • Page Number: 32
A couple close up fountain shots..
  • Page Number: 33
Stairs are now visible inside the building to get to the second level offices/spaces.
  • Page Number: 34
A shot of the rock work from the parade route.
  • Page Number: 35
Stopped by the Blue Sky Cellar.. just to refresh everyones mind, here is the concept art.
Noticed the tent for the techs was on the roof, not sure if I mentioned/noticed this before.
  • Page Number: 36
    Some Glow Fest shots.
  • Page Number: 37
They were short one drummer so they recruited a guest
Billy (I can not remember his name in the show but I will stick with Billy since that is where he was for a long time)!
  • Page Number: 38
    Stopped by the Gallery
    Some of the 55 merchandise.
  • Page Number: 39
  • Page Number: 40
  • Page Number: 41
A new series of attraction vehicles coming soon.
  • Page Number: 42
In the small office they have some of the new merchandise out.
  • Page Number: 43
Cut through the stores and thought it was weird how empty this looked (no guests or CMs in the shot.. kind of odd).
Was held up as the Street Party crew was exiting Main Street.
  • Page Number: 44
Almost snatched a shot with no one in it..
Buzz was down for about a week. No real visible changes, just some fresh paint and/or cleaning.
  • Page Number: 45
The ride vehicles were still beat up and several covered/out of service.
  • Page Number: 46
    The robot was not moving.
I managed to get a great score.. hit all 9s before the last room.. not sure what the real score was since my photo had the wrong score (I was the only person in my car but my photo had 12K for one seat and 32K for the other... so a ghost beat me!!!).
  • Page Number: 47
The All American College Band and the swing party. Notice the child in the foreground. She was out there for several songs and dancing away.
A future CM standing near by?
  • Page Number: 48
    The crowd gathering for Fantasmic
    The waits around 7:45
  • Page Number: 49
    The 80z All Stars
No LCDs again.. so guess those are no longer used.
  • Page Number: 50
Noticed the laptop on this platform.
  • Page Number: 51
The crowd was thinner so some better shots of the new rails. Notice the different color in the middle of the bricks/rail near where the line is.. I will have a closer shot on the next page).
  • Page Number: 52
    The closer shot I promised.
Event closer... thought this was interesting. I did not see any of these on the other portion of the rail.
  • Page Number: 53
A DJ getting set up for the evening (explains the laptop)
  • Page Number: 54
Getting ready to move to the Backlot.
The party moved down to the DJ.
  • Page Number: 55
  • Page Number: 56
They announced via twitter some dance lessons and asked people to wear yellow. There were some but not many while I was around that seemed to have gotten the message and wanted to participate.
The VW is now parked closer to the Muppets so there is space to dance in front of the DJ
  • Page Number: 57
  • Page Number: 58
    Noticed some neon was out
Made it around to near the Zephyr for the start of World of Color
  • Page Number: 59
From this angle you could make out the screens.
  • Page Number: 60
As well as the pop up domes (sorry about the focus)
Working my way around the Bay now.. this shot is from the other side of the Zephyr.
From the far side of the Swings (since I had already shot the show from the near Jellyfish and under the swings skipped that area)
  • Page Number: 61
Making my way around toward the exit to the Fun Wheel now.
You could see the screens, but the view was obstructed and not that good.
This is from the other side of the Fun Wheel, closer to the pop corn stand.
  • Page Number: 62
Working on toward the area in front of Screamin
  • Page Number: 63
From the hill near Sreamins launch area. From here the fountains looked great but the screen was not really visible.
Made my way further up the hill
  • Page Number: 64
Decided to stay in this area for the rest of the show more or less (moved up and down the hill a bit)
  • Page Number: 65
  • Page Number: 66
An interesting perspective on the fire and how it is angled toward the viewing area.
You could sort of tell what was on the projection domes from here too.
  • Page Number: 67
  • Page Number: 68
  • Page Number: 69
For the post show tried to make it onto the bridge.. they would not let you over to the rail though.
But from the bottom I was able to get an interesting shot or two through the trees.
  • Page Number: 70
To end the stay Magical from the Sunshine Plaza.. kind of odd to have Taylor Swift playing as the soundtrack...
