One of the stairwells in the Mickey and Friends garage was blocked off at the bottom. The other floors had barriers but some, like the 4th where I entered were open. Wonder why..
A random shot of the first floor.. since I had to walk through to get out due to the stairwell being barricaded.
They had the trams with the doors over on this route now. One was running as a test and another was parked here.
  • Page Number: 2
Here you can see one with the doors in operation. It appeared you had to open the door yourself, then it closed behind you.
Their are food and wine banners up along Downtown Disney
  • Page Number: 3
Interesting that the Zephyr is listed as closed, thought it opened last week.
A giant banner for the Food and Wine
  • Page Number: 4
More banners along the parade route.
The lamp posts are in along the backlot. More pictures of them later.
  • Page Number: 5
More banners along the parade route
Not much visible progress on the steelwork for the rocks of Cars Land.
But over at the Little Mermaid there is quite a bit of visible progress.
  • Page Number: 6
The steel is up for the the east end of the builing (the side that faces the Bay Area, where the old restrooms were).
  • Page Number: 7
The walls were still up around Paradise Park
They were prepping the area to open. Here you can see the walls and drapes going around the programming trailers for World of Color.
Some other walls stacked on the side, guessing those were from the concrete work that was going on to the right or the Zephyr work on the left.
  • Page Number: 8
There were quite a few workers in the area.
Finishing up some painting and sealing
  • Page Number: 9
The swings queue and wrap around boardwalk are really taking shape.
No major changes out on the platform, at least that we could tell.
Did spot several of these, they look to be weights on the corners.
  • Page Number: 10
The three projectors are still in the middle, guess that is their new permanent location.
A better shot of the curtain/drape going in front of the trailers.
  • Page Number: 11
    The Zephyr was running.
  • Page Number: 12
    Some of the fountains.
Looking up at the swings queue from the Fun Wheel line
They were raising the speakers that are stored in the housing closes the bridge to the pier.
  • Page Number: 13
A closer look at the rig near the Zephyr/Jupin Jellyfish
    Back to the swings
Over to the Little Mermaid (again all from the Fun Wheel queue.. I had a lot of time to kill...)
  • Page Number: 14
There was a problem with one of the exit gates so the attraction was stopped while a CM worked on it.
Now some shots from the Fun Wheel. We start off with a great overview
The area looks just about complete
  • Page Number: 15
The trailers are all covered now.
They started the stain/sealant work on the stage covering.
  • Page Number: 16
The center section of the platform was submerged
  • Page Number: 17
    Over to Cars Land
Looks like a surface has been added to the white sections of the track. Also notice in the background the form work.
  • Page Number: 18
A better shot of the far area where they have the forms and rebar in for the foundation of the track as it goes around the corner
Over to the right of the test area another foundation.
  • Page Number: 19
Looks like they are putting in the footers for the show building/rock work on the far right of the site.
Not much has changed on the left side of the project.
  • Page Number: 20
Over to the Little Mermaid now
  • Page Number: 21
Spotted a drinking fountain in the park.
Another corner of the platform with more weights.
Looking down on the Swings you can see the structure is really taking shape.
  • Page Number: 22
  • Page Number: 23
Back over to the Little Mermaid
More steel waiting to be installed
  • Page Number: 24
The platform was submerged but the tops of the projectors were still out of the water. Also as you can see the water is still fairly clear.
  • Page Number: 25
    A diver checking things out.
The wood coverings for the projectors
A closer shot of the footers going in over at Cars Land
  • Page Number: 26
    Back to the Little Mermaid
  • Page Number: 27
Over to the SS Rustworthy for some shots of the swings work
The railings are being installed on the steps
  • Page Number: 28
  • Page Number: 29
There are new trashcans in the area near the Jellyfish
  • Page Number: 30
By the time I made it around to the Zephyr it was closed due to the wind. So here is a shot from the ground of the Little Mermaid area.
    and the park
  • Page Number: 31
There are now speakers installed along the walkway
  • Page Number: 32
The ones nearest the Bay Area are now playing a new background soundtrack.
The Little Mermaid building from ground level
  • Page Number: 33
  • Page Number: 34
Here you can see the distance from the show building to the wall for the back of the Redwood Creek area.
  • Page Number: 35
A mass of people near GRR.. it seemed the Fastpass distribution was backed up.
  • Page Number: 36
Now time to head down the backlot. On first glance these new lightposts look like the old ones..
But if you look closely there is a lot more detail to them.
  • Page Number: 37
One of the old ones that is still up
Then one of the new ones.
  • Page Number: 38
The water is out of the fountain near the restrooms, and the lights are all stacked up in the middle.
Stage 12 has a large banner for the Food and Wine festival
  • Page Number: 39
Looking down the street.. hard to tell really with this lighting...
The line for hot dogs and turkey legs.
Guessing this will be replaced or repainted soon.
  • Page Number: 40
    A random ear shot.
The DCA AP center is now in Greetings from California.
  • Page Number: 41
A couple of CMs working to secure the banner better since it was windy.
Over to Disneyland now. No one taking advantage of the new benches.
Main Street was alive with activity. I noticed they now had a CM walking in front of/next to the horses. Is this a new procedure? Both of the street cars that were running had an escort.
  • Page Number: 42
The hand cart is still mia
The Rivers of America project is still rolling around. I spotted several concrete trucks this afternoon.
    The new keel boat.
  • Page Number: 43
    Still working on the tree
  • Page Number: 44
Graduation hats are now for sale.
    The wait times around 1:50pm
  • Page Number: 45
    A great spring afternoon
Noticed fish are back in the moat
  • Page Number: 46
If only this flower was pointed the other way this would have been a decent shot...
  • Page Number: 47
Fish is the pond as you look toward Frontierland.
The line for the Stage Door Cafe stretched back to the seating area.
Concrete has been poured for the new raft dock on the island.
  • Page Number: 48
The track is now in around the front of the island.
    The Fantasmic equipment was covered.
  • Page Number: 49
A better shot of the dock
    Looking around the river bend
  • Page Number: 50
The canoe dock is taking shape
Looks like the docks on the side of the island that faces Big Thunder are ready for concrete
  • Page Number: 51
The scaffolding is down around the Columbia
  • Page Number: 52
  • Page Number: 53
Looks like a new mechanism is going in for the water wheel.
Looking down at Adventureland from the tree house
Track still needs to be installed near the switch area.
  • Page Number: 54
Still no paddle wheel on the Mark Twain
    The switch
  • Page Number: 55
    The raft dock
    The smoking area dock
  • Page Number: 56
    The line board around 2:30
  • Page Number: 57
Over to the Blue Sky Cellar now to see what was going on. The display at the end of entrance walkway has some new pictures.
    A great concept!
  • Page Number: 58
This looks like it is from the Tower of Terror building (just beckoning for a webcam/construction cam)
The portion of the racers from ground level. The Fun Wheel looks so far away.
  • Page Number: 59
    The Red Car work
    Paradise Park
  • Page Number: 60
A random shot of the red car model that has been on display.
Back out to the Pier. Looks like some programming going on in the background and sealing in the foreground.
  • Page Number: 61
Custodial CMs cleaning the railings and light fixtures. Guess that means this will be open very soon (last I read Saturday was the day).
  • Page Number: 62
The Zephyr was still closed due to the winds
I could not tell what he was working on but he kept going from that laptop around to several other areas. I never saw any lights or fountains turn on.
  • Page Number: 63
They were working on this fence while I was there. Looks like it opens/is removable since it is where the stage can raise up to.
Working their way around to all the lights to clean them.
A group of CMs entered the area.
  • Page Number: 64
Looked like a photo shoot, maybe for new CM outfits?
They shot pictures in a couple locations.
A look over at the swings
  • Page Number: 65
    Screamin had a healthy line
  • Page Number: 66
All the workers are done for the day over at the Little Mermaid
  • Page Number: 67
Looks to be slow going on the work here with little visible exterior progress.. seems to me they would want this done for next week for the festival.
  • Page Number: 68
One of the longer wait times I have seen for Tower
    New lamp posts here too
They installed lights for the parade on these.
  • Page Number: 69
The new ones seem to match these that are across from tower
    Back to Disneyland
  • Page Number: 70
The backstage walkway was open for the first half of the party then I noticed they closed it.
At around 4:30 I noticed all the lights were on, wonder if they timers were not changed for daylight savings time.
  • Page Number: 71
    The Flag Retreat
Kind of weird to see all those same color cars in a row.
    Some paver problems in Tomorrowland.
  • Page Number: 72
    Back to DCA
A look over the wall at the Red Car work (the Lazygeek got there late so the lighting was terrible)
  • Page Number: 73
In this shot you can just barely tell where the line ends for now.
Back out to the Pier where they were prepping for the evenings testing
  • Page Number: 74
From the Redwood Creek tower you can just barely see the Mermaid building.
  • Page Number: 75
    From near the restrooms
  • Page Number: 76
Stopped back by to see if any testing was going on. They were cycling through some fountains on the far platform.
    The curtains were pulled back
  • Page Number: 77
The gift shop was closed for the evening.
The lights would turn on, cycle, then the fountains would go on.
  • Page Number: 78
Back to Disneyland, the Lazygeek noticed something missing in this glass work above the Music store.
To close with a shot of Elvis performing at the Tomorrowland Terrace
