Waiting for the Christmas tree, which is still backstage
  • Page Number: 5
    The wait times around 2:10pm
More castle decorations, but still not done.
There were two columns on either side of the hub in front of the castle, my bet is for equipment for the Christmas parade taping.

Space Mountain is back to its old self, all the Ghost Galaxy equipment is gone.

A decent crowd had gathered for the 2:45 show (it was about 2:30 only)
They are using the Fantasmic speakers for the show.
  • Page Number: 13
The show directors/techs were set up on the second terrace. Also there was a small roped off area for Disney folks (several Disneyland and WDI people were spotted).
The Columbia emptied and headed out empty so guests are not stuck on board during the show.
The Mark Twain pulls in to get ready for the show.
  • Page Number: 14
There are banners up for the show
Spotted some launchers on the speakers, were those new or left over from Magical?
    Tony Baxter was in attendance.

Showtime.. the procession starts out in New Orleans Square and makes its way to the riverfront.

The Mark Twain then heads on down the River
  • Page Number: 32
The flag was at half staff due to the Fort Hood incident, one of the few real world influences inside the park.
Over to DCA now. No signs of Santas Beach Party.
A new lighthouse structure is on top of what I have been calling the fountain (where the Christmas true usually went in the park near the Bay Area)
  • Page Number: 33
The Christmas tree is out on the Pier (visible in the background here)
The water level looks the same as testing and installation work continues on the platform.
Meanwhile in the viewing area more concrete is being poured.
  • Page Number: 34
The different tiers are really taking shape now.
  • Page Number: 35
    Installation of lighting/projector gear.
No real visible progress on the swings
  • Page Number: 36
Some of the concrete work on the fountain is done.
  • Page Number: 37
    The Christmas tree
  • Page Number: 38
    Jessie was out for pictures
    And spotted this near by.
The second tower painting looks complete, but only one was operational.
  • Page Number: 39
The single rider line was closed and the sign gone even... that is too bad. I really thought the line was a good idea.
There is now scaffolding all the way around the elevator and all the stucco is gone
  • Page Number: 40
    This looks about the same.
Rebar is going into the Little Mermaid area.
  • Page Number: 41
Over at the Disneyland Hotel looks like they are putting up plastic so they can paint this side of the tower.
  • Page Number: 42
Work continues out in Cars Land on that road/concrete pathway.
  • Page Number: 43
Another concrete pad nearby. Wonder if this is going to be the foundation/pads for some of the ride track?? Or just some other infrastructure.
  • Page Number: 44
A look at the Little Mermaid work
Looks like a trench.. also quite a bit of rebar is already in.
  • Page Number: 45
A wider look at the swings work
The World of Color viewing area
    The Little Mermaid work
  • Page Number: 46
They were raising and lowering this light rig.
In the distance you can see the pipe work continues. In the middle of the shot is fairly close to where the Cars Land entrance will be (right on the other side of the Wharf buildings where those trees are. (there was some discussion last update as to the angle, so thought this shot may help)
  • Page Number: 47
The elevator at the swings from ground level
Now some shots from the Zephyr
  • Page Number: 48
No real progress on this pipe work
  • Page Number: 49
The trees are still in their crates
Not very busy in the wall walkway... just one CM cleaning..
The electrical for the new lighthouse is not connected yet.

Back to Disneyland and I managed to get stuck in the Street Party traffic.
  • Page Number: 52
    The wait times around 4:10pm
Out in the French Market they are working on the other door now.
  • Page Number: 53
There is a meet and greet for the film, they took over the Angel Courtyard
Wow.. if the wait was that long earlier that is crazy for a film that is now out yet...
This is where the meet and greet takes place (it was closed due to the show starting soon)
  • Page Number: 54
  • Page Number: 55
Headed out to find a spot for the 4:15 Showboat Jubilee and spotted Bob Iger (center/left of the shot looking to the right).
A better shot. He appeared to only have one person with him who was talking about the show from what I could tell (the blond woman), by the end of the show his wife and I am assuming his kids joined him (since the kids looked grade school age, I am not going to post any pictures of the group). I also spotted him on the Dream Suite balcony during Fantasmic.
    Show time..
  • Page Number: 56
The stage director clearing the way.
  • Page Number: 57
One group they were asking to move were these two that stopped to ask for Igers autograph.
  • Page Number: 58
I thought it was great that he did sign something for them even though the show was there..
  • Page Number: 59
I thought this was a great shot with the sun set.
Spotted this shirt down in the front row.. wonder if he knew Bob Iger was 20 yards or so behind him...
  • Page Number: 60
  • Page Number: 61
  • Page Number: 62
  • Page Number: 63
He seemed to be enjoying the show (and spotting some people he knew on the Mark Twain)
So do you recognize anyone in this shot? If you are a Disney animation fan you may... On the right in sun glasses is John Musker and on the left partially covered is Ron Clements I believe.
Here is a better shot. They are the co-directors of the Princess and the Frog and also brought us the Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and the Great Mouse Detective.

  • Page Number: 70
I managed to get ahead of the Mark Twain and here it is coming around the riverbend near Splash Mountain (I was at the Hungry Bear)
Everyone was still singing and dancing.
  • Page Number: 71
As it rounded the far bend it looked like those on board were lining up for a photo op, I spotted a Photopass person.
  • Page Number: 72
I stopped at the Flag Retreat
I spotted a good half dozen or so stations set up around the parks.
  • Page Number: 73

The gang from Up was in the pre-parade plugging the DVD and Bluray release.
  • Page Number: 75

Even with the partially filled bay you can get some great shots
Also I wanted to try out a new mini-tripod I picked up.
  • Page Number: 77
  • Page Number: 78
Spotted this sign, with the great LED lighting out from of the Studio 365 store in Downtown Disney

This is a speed painting group that paints animal faces and talks about conservation.
Can you guess what this is?
  • Page Number: 82
  • Page Number: 83
From when she started till now was about 10 minutes.
  • Page Number: 84
One more before heading back to Disneyland
  • Page Number: 85
  • Page Number: 86
Again about 10 minutes to completion.
A shot of the stroller area from the monorail..
  • Page Number: 87
The Street Party looks great after dark, photos are trickier and really do not do it justice.
  • Page Number: 88
    The lines around 6:50pm
Walked through NOS and here are some better shots of the new Princess and the Frog giftshop, which is near the exit to the Meet and Greet.

  • Page Number: 90
  • Page Number: 91
A couple random shots from Haunted Mansion
  • Page Number: 92
Tried to get a good shot of the rising moon and Mickey, but it looked much better in person than the shot..
  • Page Number: 93
Again trying to get the moon behind the dragon and it looked much better in person than the shot..
The Princess and the Frog stuff was removed for Fantasmic
Remember was back Friday, including Tinkerbell.
  • Page Number: 94
    The new guidemaps.
Noticed in the DCA one there is a building for Little Mermaid, and nothing for the swings but a number saying they are coming soon. Also the Christmas tree is in the wrong spot.
