Trip Log:

Arrived at the Disneyland Resort just after noon and was directed into a parking spot on the Mickey level of the parking structure. No wait at security or for a tram this afternoon. Spent some time on Main Street USA at Disneyland then wandered through Tomorrowland, around the Matterhorn and out to it's a small world area then passed through Fantasyland and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Continued on through Critter Country, New Orleans Square, and Adventure to finish my circle of the park. Decided to cross over to Disney California Adventure and grab a bite to eat at Flo's. After eating strolled through the Wharf and then around Pixar Pier. Saw a short queue for the Pal-A-Round so went for spin. After my loop of the Pier walked through Avengers Campus and into Hollywood Land. Returned to Disneyland for the 4:30pm Flag Retreat in Town Square. Made my way up Main Street USA and walked through Frontierland and along the Rivers of America. The wait for Pirates was minimal so went for a cruise before returning to Town Square for the 6:10pm All-American College Band performance. Next stop Sleeping Beauty Castle for the band's 7:10pm set. Stopped by Tomorrowland for a quick snack then back to Main Street to find a spot for the 8:00pm College Band pre-parade. After their performance made my way through the crowd on Main Street USA and returned to Disney California Adventure. Found a spot for the final set of the All-American College Band at the Backlot Stage. After their performance headed for the tram as Disneyland fireworks were going off. Boarded a tram and returned to the garage, found my car and headed for home.

Other Interesting Stats:
* Moderate Walking Stats (meaning over 2.5mph): 11,815 steps, 106 minutes.

For Comparisons to other trips or more park miles click here to visit our park Miles Section.

Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions, and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted. The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled.

My Thoughts & Observations:

Hello Everyone!

I had a great day at the parks on Friday. It was the final day of the 2022 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band and my only agenda item was to enjoy the band. In addition to that I was able to catch up with some friends in between sets. The crowds seemed slightly less than last week. Most wait times were well below an hour with only the usual spiking beyond. The weather was warm again topping out in the low 90s with a tiny breeze then cooling to the 70s by the time I left.

Another week and still no announcement from Disneyland on the plans for Magic Key Renewals. Only a couple weeks left until expirations start to hit. A lot of speculation going around and it was definitely on quite a few guests minds based on the conversations I had as well as overheard while roaming the parks.

Thoughts and Observations:

  • Started my afternoon being directed into a spot on the Mickey level of the parking structure. Again I drew a spot down near the end of an aisle so it was a hike to the escalators. No wait at security or to board a waiting tram so those were both pluses. Also I started off hitting a green light at Ball Road even. Once at the parks only a couple guests in line ahead of me to enter the park.
  • I arrived just before the 1pm park hopping time was to begin. I did not see any indications for the lines, I just assumed the ones with no waiting for first entry and the mass of people waiting were those for park hopping (which was correct). Several parties around me were in the wrong line. Seems they need some signs or more cast members to tell people where to line up.
  • Halloween continues to roll out around the parks. Main Street windows feature their pumpkins and merchandise is showing up in the stores. The Haunted Mansion closes Monday for its switch over to the holiday show. At DCA the poles are up along Route 66 but no decorations yet.
  • Its always great to step onto Main Street and encounter entertainment. The various groups that perform around the park really add to the experience. The Straw Hatters were wrapping up a set and then the Dapper Dans started. As I walked into Tomorrowland I caught the Disneyland Band.
  • The Monorail was closed again due to the heat but did reopen in the evening. Also noted the hours are back to full park hours so the Monorail has been reopening after fireworks again. Other closures right now include renovation work on the Matterhorn and Treehouse. On my walk through the park Rise of the Resistance was down due to a problem (not abnormal).
  • While walking through Tomorrowland I thought it was odd to find Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore out for pictures. They seemed out of place in Tomorrowland in their normal costumes. They both had decent crowds.
  • I walked through Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and not sure if my luck is bad or what but I saw no characters out again. Usually you would see something going on somewhere in the land on a walk through.
  • Opted to grab a bite to eat at Flo's. The group wanted to eat inside and we lucked out finding a table. It seemed many groups were lingering in the A/C. The meal was good again. Seems the ice shortages are continuing around the parks. When we ate lunch they would not give you a cup of ice. They would give you a cup of water with a little ice in it. Also looked like they were going light on ice in the fountain drinks too.
  • On the opposite end of the spectrum I asked for ice water at Award Wieners later in the afternoon and the cup was almost all ice with very little water.
  • As I was walking around Pixar Pier the Pixar Pal-A-Round only had a few parties in line for the non swinging gondolas so I went for a spin. Ended up having to wait 3 gondolas only so under 5 minutes and they did not pair me up with anyone so I had a gondola to myself. It had been a while and was nice to take in the sights.
  • In my lap around Disney California Adventure the Little Mermaid was down due to a problem and the Zephyr due to wind.
  • My luck in Avengers Campus seemed to mirror Galaxy's Edge. I walked through as the Spider-Man show was wrapping up. In my stroll through I saw no other characters, I looked in the main campus area as well as out by Guardians where I spotted some a few weeks ago.
  • While walking by Pirates the wait time was posted at 20 minutes but the queue was moving quickly and barely at the door so I got in line. Turned out to be 7 minutes only.
  • My primary goal this visit was to enjoy the final day performances of the 2022 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band so from 4:30 until I left I was primarily watching the band or visiting with friends/family while waiting for the next set, so it was a very relaxing evening.
