Trip Log:

Started off the day parking in the Mickey and Friends garage, then headed to the parks by tram. Walked into DCA and stopped by Taste Pilots for lunch. After lunch wandered around GRR and out to the Pier. Walked by Avalon Cove, Toy Story, and hopped on the Fun Wheel. After our round trip continued on past the swings work, went for a spin on the Zephyr then back through the Bay Area and into Fliks Fun Fair. Made the circle and then headed for the entrance and over to Disneyland. Stopped by the new Gallery and then strolled down Main Street. Walked through Adventureland and out to New Orleans Square to grab a Fastpass for Haunted Mansion the walked along the Rivers of America and out to the Big Thunder Ranch. Continued on into Fantasyland and out to Toontown. Stopped by Donald's House to take some pictures of the Go Coaster next door then headed back through Fantasyland and around the Matterhorn on our way into Tomorrowland. Headed back to Main Street and grabbed dinner at the Plaza Inn and the Corn Dog Wagon. After dinner went for a round trip ride on the Monorail then walked around the Castle a bit before heading over to catch the last Billy Hill show of the night. After Billy it was back to Tomorrowland to grab a Fastpass for Buzz then back to Adventureland to rejoin my group and check out the wait times. We ened up on the last Mark Twain trip of the evening (5:45). Once back on land we hopped on the train and rode over to Tomorrowland. Watched Space Mountain for a while then went on Buzz. We headed over to NOS next and spent some time along the Rivers of America before getting in line to use our Haunted Mansion Fastpasses. The attraction went down again, this time we saw people coming out of the emergency exit so we bailed and wandered back to Main Street and spent some time in the shops then pulled up a curb to wait for Holiday Screams. After the show headed for the tram and back to the car to call it a night.

Other Interesting Stats:
* Moderate Walking Stats (meaning over 2.5mph): 14,282 steps, 127 minutes.

For Comparisons to other trips or more park miles click here to visit our park Miles Section.

Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions, and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted. The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled.

My Thoughts & Observations:

Hello all,

Friday was a surprisingly calm day at the Disneyland Resort. I was expecting traffic jams to get in and wall to wall guests inside and was pleasantly surprised. Maybe I just lucked out with my timing.. the parks had a healthy crowd but it seemed lighter than the past few visits. Parking was even easy. Though the Lazygeek reported seeing them setting up cones to block off the garage when he arrived (about 5 minutes after me).

Disneyland & DCA Thoughts and Observations:

  • As you saw in the pictorial update we spent the first portion of the trip over at DCA checking out the World of Color progress. Its amazing how the water makes you feel like things are really moving along. Only a couple more weeks and the Bay should be back to its filled state, assuming there are no problems. The viewing area seems to be moving again, all be it at a very slow pace. I do not have anything else overly interesting to report from DCA. It was kind of odd to see the Christmas decorations up so early but I guess with the holidays so close together there is no other choice.

  • Looking at the entertainment guides for the weekend they changed them from last trip. The Halloween Round-up and Candy Corn Acres are gone and in its place are the Blue Sky Cellar (DCA) and Pixie Hollow (Disneyland). Also they have the alternate street party times now for the days DCA closes early. Also found it interesting how the Blue Sky Cellar is listed as New...

  • Speaking of New the Magic Shop on Main Street has re-opened under new management. Disney no longer operates it. To the casual observer there is no real change. Just some new displays in the windows and items for sale inside. I am glad to see it stayed a Magic Shop but find it interesting they have gone back to outsourcing the shops, seems like history is repeating itself again... hopefully this time around with a better result.

  • The Disneyland Railroad was back in service. I did not notice any changes (I only went from NOS to Tomorrowland though). Also the Go Coaster has returned and looks great, well let me rephrase, the attraction itself looks bright and back to its original state, but the train looked dull still to us.

  • The Haunted Mansion went down again while we were in line. This time around they were evacuating the attraction and guests were coming out the emergency exits so I bailed on the line and did not get to ride this time around.

  • Main Street filled in to be fairly crowded for the Halloween Screams fireworks, but not as jammed as weeks past. Maybe the projections on the midst screens out in NOS held some of the crowd (if anyone has pictures they would like to share from over there drop me an email. I had a first time viewer of the show with me and wanted them to see it from Main Street so I never was able to see the screens myself, except for on Youtube of course.

  • On Saturday morning we made a quick stop at the Disneyland Resort due to it being someones birthday and they wanted to pick up their gift card but due to there being a couple football games we wanted to watch we headed for home. Anyways on that brief trip I spent some time roaming Downtown Disney and I was surprised at the number of people also roaming around for a Saturday morning around 10am. There were several groups of kids, who seemed to be on a scavenger hunt as well as other small groups walking around. I thought that was an interesting idea, not sure if it was because of a birthday or for Halloween.

I have done several of these now and have not received many comments.. are they useful, a waste of time, too dated by the time you read them... no one reads this section?
