Mail Call

Hello everyone,

Thanks for those who have written in, we do read and eventually reply to all emails we receive. Below are some of the more interesting ones:

Kris B Writes: I don't know if this is the right spot to send this, but I just wanted to say thank you for all the work you do in taking pictures and posting them. I look so forward to seeing Disneyland even though I can't be there. I happen to be one of the ones that like all the pictures of every angle and all the detail I can see. I disagree with the e-mail you posted, I personally love to see many shots as I can. It feels so much more like seeing it in person. I actually would rather see blurry pictures than none at all. I wish I took as many beautiful pics as you do. Anyways, thanks a million I really appreciate it!!!

Geek's Response: Kris, thanks for the email, we are glad your enjoying the site. I have gotten several others saying similiar things about the email posted in the last mailbag about the image quality. We are striving to keep the quality of all shots used as best as possible, but every now and then we are forced to choose between not clear and not using it..

John Writes: I just want to say I love your pictures of WDW and DL. What camera do you use? Also, how do you download all of your pictures when you are on vacation? I have to do it to a laptop, then burn it onto a disc.

Thanks and keep up the great work,
John

Geek's Repsonse: We have information, links, etc.. about the cameras we use on the about us page (http://www.disneygeek.com/site_info/about_us.htm) But to directly answer the questions: Cameras we currently use: The primary Camera we use is a Sony Cybershot DSC -V1 (5 Megapixel), the geeks brother uses a Sony Cybershot DSC-U30 (2 megapixel).

As for moving the pictures around while on vacation that is a bit trickier. The first thing we have are a lot of memory sticks (512, 256, 4x128, 64, 32). We take all pictures at around 2048xwhatever it is, which is a fairly high resolution. For this last trip to Florida we bought an 80GB extrenal, USB, hard drive that we used to archive the images each night, through a laptop. This was a little faster than using CDRs for us.

Theresa Writes:
I have a list of all the Disneyland Resort Penny Press Machine Locations. I got it when I went to Disneyland on Wednesday(6/2). A sales person handed the list to me after buying a 'Penny Press Collection' book. I'm retyping it so I could forward it to others who would be interested. Here's the list of pressed pennies.. I don't have any photos of the coins, nor the machines. I'll see if I can take a few photos of the coins I got.

Geek's Response: Thanks for the list. I have added it to the site, under the Other Topics in the Disneyland Section - Click Here

David Writes: I really love your site and particularly enjoy the Disneyland photo updates. With all the renovations going on in the park, I was hoping to see some before and after shots of Peter Pan. Several years ago when I was at the park last (I'm in New York now), I remember looking up at the clock tower and seeing what horrible shape it was in -- wood rotting, paint peeling. I know there are/were several areas in the park that were in despair, however this is the one that stood out the most to me. I was hoping you had some detail shots from the past few years and shots of the renovation.

Thanks again for the hard work and dedication, this is such a great site.

David

Geek's Response: David, thanks for the compliments and visiting the site. We are thinking of putting together sections that have before and after shots of the ongoing projects and up and coming ones. Hopefully within the next few weeks once we complete the WDW Updates we can get the before and after Disneyland shots together and online.
