Disneyland Resort Hotels

The Disneyland resort consists of three resort/hotels that are owned and operated by Disney. The first is the Disneyland Hotel which is currently undergoing a major rehabilitation. The second is the Pixar Place Hotel (formerly known as the Disneyland Pacific Hotel and before that as the Pan Pacific Hotel). The newest resort is Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. This is located between Disney California Adventure Park and Downtown Disney.

The Geek's Suggestions

Unlike Disney World where staying onsite is a must, at Disneyland this has traditionally not been the case. Disney has been trying to change this since 2001 and the opening of the Grand Californian and then in 2009 with the addition of the DVC villas. One thing to keep in mind if you have visit Walt Disney World and you enjoy their completely immersive environment stretching from the moment you enter the Disney property till you leave in Anaheim you do not have the same luxury. The Hotels are nice, but they are not resort or other worlds like their WDW cousins. The closest to a WDW experience is the Grand Californian.
