Mail Call

Hello everyone,

Thanks for those who have written in, we do read and reply to all emails we receive. Below are some of the more interesting ones:

Mike Writes: My name is Mike Collins and I am the producer of CoasterRadio.com, a new internet radio show and website dedicated to theme parks and thrill rides. You can check it out at http://www.coasterradio.com

This week, we produced a show celebrating Disneyland's 50th Anniversary and we were joined by Eric Jacobson, Senior Vice President for Creative Development of Walt Disney Imagineering. Eric is responsible for all the Imagineering that goes on at the Disneyland Resort in California, as well as the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney-MGM Studios, and other entertainment venues at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Geek's Response: Thanks Mike. I will pass this along to our readers... I listened to the show and really enjoyed the interview with Eric Jacobson. Also a note, we(disneygeek.com) signed up to be a Disneyland Affiliate for the coasterradio network.

Question: Anyone out there planning on going to Hong Kong Disneyland for its opening on September 12th?

Geek's Response: I am not, but I said I would ask if any of our site guests are going or know anyone who is going. If you do please let me know. One I would like to post your thoughts and if you have any images.. #2 and more importantly a reporter contacted me who will be there and wants to interview American Disney fans who made the trek.

Joe Writes: I just read about the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage Ride, and I want to know if this impacts the opening schedule of Monsters Inc.? Also I am scheduling a visit to Disneyland in the winter of 2006 and wanted to know if they will still be selling the Golden Mickey Ears?

Geek's Response:

To clear up the opening dates:

Turtle Talk with Crush (DCA) - NOW open
Monsters Inc - (DCA) - opens January 2006
Finding Nemo Submarines - Opens Spring 2007

The Golden Mouse Ears with Mickey on them will be avialable throughout the celebration, which lasts until the end of 2006, so yes they should be available on your visit in January. The ones they gave away on the 17th had the 50th logo on them and the date and the only way to get those was to have been at the park or to go find a pair on E-Bay where they started showing up on Sunday... (you won't find mine there though.. they are staying in my room....)

Thanks again everyone for your comments and questions. Remember you can also write us and other other guests of the sites through the geek's blog
