One perk of flying international or transcontinental Delta One out of LAX is the Delta One Checkin area.
It has its own set of doors and is a much more relaxed experience than the regular lines. Here you are greeted and escorted in.
An agent takes your bags and IDs and you are shown into this lounge area to wait while they check you in and process your bags.

There are some snacks and beverages in the area. Then when they are done and you are ready you take an elevator upstairs to enter the security line.
Also since we were flying DeltaOne that meant access to the Sky Club. It was quite full this morning so I did not bother to take any pictures.
We boarded just after 9am. Here is my seat for the next 11 hours plus.

Thanks to a delay waiting for the runway to take off we left the ground at 10:28am, slightly behind schedule. Due to construction we had to wait for longer runway that was being used for landings to be available for takeoff.

The Settling In serving.. Butternut Squash, Date, and Meyer Lemon Compote. It arrived looking like this and for those of you who know my eating habits, it left looking the same.

If you were curious here was the TV. Delta business class is not very modern.
The Almost There Meal - Scrambled Eggs with Cream Cheese and Chives. Still not sure why it was breakfast food. It was lunch time in Tokyo.
