Opened the curtains this early morning (it was just past 5:30am) to take my first look at Shanghai Disneyland in the light of day. This was the view from our room at the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel.
In the center was the Enchanted Storybook Castle.
    To the left slightly DisneyTown.

A little further left Tomorrowland with the Tron Canopy visible above the treeline and other buildings. Beyond it through the haze in the distance you can just barely see the skyline for downtown Shanghai.
A little further to the left the Toy Story Hotel.
Moving back to the middle across the Great Lawn is the gate to Wishing Star Lake that I walked through last night.

    Continuing right the topiary Mickey.
Panning up, this is to the right of the Castle, rising above the building is the rock formations of Adventure Isle, in the foreground are the show buildings for Roaring Rapids (the brown building) and to the right Soaring.
Moving back to the left beyond the entrance building (there is no train in Shanghai but it looks like the train stations you will find at other parks) is the top of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Mountain.

Back to the Enchanted Storybook Castle for a closer look.
In the foreground is the World of Disney in DisneyTown, the background the Walt Disney Grand Theatre
    The Lakeshore District of DisneyTown.
  • Page Number: 5
A closer look toward Downtown Shanghai as the sun reflects off the buildings.
This large building on the horizon is the show building for Pirates of the Caribbean.
To the far right of my view is the Metro Station.

This cup was in the mini bar area and the wrapper said with their compliments, so we received a souvenir mug.
The chocolates that were in the room last night.
Information on the Magic Kingdom Club that was provided. Breakfast started late, 7am, considering the park opened at 8am.

Random picture of the mirror over the desk where I was working.
Some of the items provided in the room.
It was starting to get brighter and fountains were on to the left. That ramp beyond the fountains is the walkway to the parking lot for the park.

I walked down the hall and took a look down into a quiet lobby, it was 6:40am and not a lot of activity.
  • Page Number: 9
Looking out a window toward the ballrooms for the hotel.
The back of the ballroom building leads to a garden.

Back at the room waiting for breakfast. The ferry had arrived and was ready to start at 7am.
We went up to see if they happened to open early.
10 minutes till and all is locked up. When they say 7am they mean 7am.

So I took the elevator down to the lobby and walked out back to look around, same view as our room more or less, just lower.
    Looking to the left

Back in the lobby looking up at the ceiling.
Down the hall past the elevators is the gift shop, Tinker Bell Gifts

A quick look inside before heading back upstairs.. 2 minutes till breakfast.
A quick recording of the elevator ride.

My first plate.. starting off with some waffles.
Since it was not crowded here is a look at the Magic Kingdom Club breakfast offerings at the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel. The orange juice was freshly squeezed using the juicer just barely in frame on the right.

The waffles show up in the empty pan on the right (they were making a fresh batch).

There was also an omelet/egg station, but there were people there so I will have to get a picture another day.

Waffles are done, time for another plate.
After breakfast heading back to the room, a look at the hallway.
    Room number signs.

Headed down to the lobby and out to catch the bus. It was there so no time for pictures.. but a quick snap of Mickey and Minnie as I ran by.
    The shuttle schedule.
On our way to the park, it was 7:46am.

Looking at the hotel as we drove by.
    Some signs along the road.
Passing the taxi area. All quiet this morning.

The bus took us to the VIP drop off in Disneytown, which is really close to the park entrance.
Following the crowd from our bus toward the park.
A couple of random Duffy Friend eggs along the walkway.

Unfortunately we quickly learned there is no ticket counter or guest relations here so we could not pick up our Season Passes.. so a CM pointed us to the front gate.. through an empty Disneytown.
Some of the sights as I walked through Disneytown toward the front of the park.

A couple other guests in Disneytown, but for the most part it was closed and empty.

We reached the front of Disneytown and realized we were fenced in. All day guests were being corralled around Disneytown to a massive security line.
We found a security cast member and asked where to go (he found someone who knew English and they called someone and eventually decided to let us through and told us to get into the big line with everyone else). It was just 8am and the gates were opening.

8:04am and we are a long way from making it to the security check. I do not think I will view the lines in Anaheim and Orlando the same every again.
  • Page Number: 28
Our line wrapped near the Steamboat Willie fountain.
Looking back at World of Disney.
We were originally dropped off on the other side of the theater, which loomed over the entrance.

    Passing the Disneytown Entrance.
8:23am.. made it through security now getting into the ticket line... only one family in front of us.
8:40am.. have our tickets after a little confusion and now in the season pass entry line (which was shorter than the regular entry lines)

Almost there at 8:47am ... this wraps up part 1, getting to the park.
