  • A look outside this morning at the pool area of Disney's Boardwalk Resort as I wait for the rest of my group.
  • 8:15am - On my way to the bus stop

  • 8:42am - Arrived at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Spotted this Loki bus nearby.
  • No wait at security this morning.

  • That's a good sign.. no backup at Kilimanjaro Safari.
  • Entering the queue at 8:56am with a posted 25 min wait.
  • Hmm.. the extended queue was in use. We were moving but had to walk a long way.
  • While in line a welcome popped up in the app.
  • 9:26am - Boarding my Safari truck. So total wait time turned out to be 30 minutes.

  • Looking over toward Gorilla Falls as I exited - A male gorilla gathering some brush
  • Decided to take a walk through Gorilla Falls
  • This area was roped off. You could look from the walkway but could not go the exhibits.
  • No handouts, you could load the PDF of the bird spotting guide on your phone. Seems this would make sense to integrate into the App vs a stand alone document. One advantage of the PDF is you could print your own for your family at home.

  • Gino, the male silver back of the family troop is over 40 years old and has been at the park since opening.

  • An Encanto photo wall on a backstage gate on Discovery Island.
  • A new kiosk is being constructed on the walkway toward Pandora. Assuming its a DVC kiosk.
  • The Merry Menagerie Puppets and performers were out so we spent some time visiting them.

  • Nemo and Dorey round out the set of statues.
  • Next stop the Discovery River Theater for the Disney Kitetails show. The Dinoland side was filling in. This was about 15 minutes prior to showtime.

  • I sat on the Asia side near the landing zone. On the Dinoland side performers were out for a pre-show.

  • The kites landed/crashed into the empty seating area next to where I was sitting. Here are a series of shots of Baloo coming in after his performance.

  • About 10 minutes later the boats returned after circling Discovery Island.

  • They alternate shows so we are back to the Jungle Book show.

  • Noticed these fans on poles set up behind the wall. Looks like a portion of the space will be opened soon for some use.

  • Arrived at the theatre about 12 minutes prior to the 2pm show of A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King.
  • We just barely made it in. We were one of the last groups to be seated. They filled us into a reserved spot that was not needed for the show about 2 minutes prior to show time.
  • Showtime. I took some random pictures, but mostly just enjoyed the show from the great seat.
