Left the room just after 8am this clear morning
Walked over to the bus stop for the resort.
Crossing the main driveway to the front entrance.
Arrived at the Magic Kingdom in less than 20 minutes. The new security bag check structure is nearing completion.
Passing by the Magic Kingdom on my way to the Monorail. No time to enter the park this morning.
A spot where old/new/temporary pavement all meet.
Time to board.
Ferry fulls of guests were being dropped off for the Magic Kingdom (it was about 8:30am)

The TRON building is receiving framing, soon it will be enclosed.
Passing through the Contemporary Resort on my way to the Polynesian.
You can see a mound of dirt from the walkway and boat dock work to the left of the Monorail station at the Magic Kingdom
Work continues at the transportation and ticket center. New bag check and tram stops are being created.
Arrived at the Polynesian just before 9am, with a half hour before our dining reservation.
So took a walk around the lobby. Here is a display advertising the Christmas party at the Magic Kingdom.
The Polynesian Tree is on the ground level right as you would enter from the parking lot/car drop off.

The lobby was quiet this morning so here is a look around.
Star Wars ad on the front desk.
A small area off to one side with a TV for kids to watch.
The BouTiki had not opened for the day (it opens at 9am).
Once BouTiki opened I headed inside to look around.
Upstairs was more crowded. Here is the checkin for Ohana's
Kona Island featured some gingerbread treats and displays.
Kona Island also had several cast member created gingerbread houses

Next stop the Grand Floridian Resort.

A Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is on the second floor.
There are large windows so you can look inside.
The traditional gingerbread house was lobby on the ground level.

Since my last visit this side of the second floor has changed. The Orchestra and old lounge are gone. New seating and a new lounge have opened.
The Enchanted Rose lounge had not opened for the day yet.

Back out to the Monorail and onto my next destination.
Down below near the entrance.
They were working on the gates at the Monorail platform.
A walkway is being constructed from the Magic Kingdom to Grand Floridian. A new swinging bridge has been added and many of the old walkway pavers near the Magic Kingdom have been removed.
The new bridge is on the left.
The old walkway dead ended at the channel. They are resurfacing it as park of this project.
This steel archway is on the service road and is the same height as the monorail beam to ensure no equipment will damage the Monorail.

A look at the entrance work from the Monorail as we headed toward the Contemporary.
New planters are taking shape and concrete is being poured as they move to finish this before the holiday rush.

The retention pond project and retaining walls appears to be complete.
Notice at the top you can see the railbed, no ties or tracks.

Bay Lake Tower... my next trip I am staying there again.
The Contemporary security area has been redone since my last visit. There is now glass separating the secure and unsecure areas. So you can reach the restrooms and not go through the checkpoint.
The Contemporary Gingerbread display is celebrating its 10th season.
A couple hidden Mickeys and Frozen characters.
The pin celebrates the 10th anniversary.
