The new digital road signs over Buena Vista Drive were on this afternoon as we approached the area. This is taken from the bus as we pulled out of Typhoon Lagoon.
Of course to reach Disney Springs the bus had to go all the way around so that meant a left. Here is a look at some of the ongoing construction as Buena Vista Drive is widened and bus lanes are added.
Pulling into the bus stop. It took approx 15 min from Typhoon Lagoon till we were able to exit the bus at Disney Springs.
A look back at the bus stops. They are a little confusing with at least two buses using each stop right now until the new stops open in June.
The Holiday Photo op is still on the left as you enter the Marketplace.
Directional signage.
No real visible progress on AristoCrepes from the other day.
The Fultons sign is gone from the top and more demo work has proceeded.
More walls were down around the Town Center. As you cross the bridge near T-Rex you can get a clear view now.
A tighter shot of the far bank.
The kiosks across from Fultons/Paddlefish are now out from behind walls.
They are not open yet.
All the walls out to the bridge were gone.
Chairs were on the deck opposite the walkway.
The bridge was in use today as groups of cast members were previewing the Town Center.
No real visible progress on STK. It is scheduled to open the end of May.
CMs checking in for their preview.
A fair crowd for a Friday afternoon just past 12:30.
The Edison is slated to open next spring. So another year of construction here.
The STK sign was on this afternoon.
Planet Hollywood is slowly moving along.
More kiosks between STK and Planet Hollywood. I will grab better pictures later, off to eat now.
A list of what is new.. most of which was new in December. The next big round is not until mid May.
The food truck court had two trucks open this afternoon
One of which is the Magic Kingdom truck.. which I have wanted to try for several visits but it was always closed or not there when I was.
While waiting for my food a look around. I realized there is no real shade in the eating area where the tables were.
My corn dog and waffle fries. It was $8 including tax.
It was extremely hot as they cooked it while I waited. So I opted to try and cool it down. Also this way you can see the breading to hot dog ratio.
Next stop for me was Disney Quest. I wanted to pay one last visit. I am assuming it will close down before my next visit.
Current pricing.
I started to walk around and I noticed something missing...
People. I had many rooms to myself.
This looked interesting. Turned out to be rather dull.
I squeaked out a victory..
You could basically walk into/onto anything throughout the building. There were no waits. For example on the Astro Blasters we were the only two playing.
Only one guest at the Animation Academy. I found it funny she sat about as far from the instructor as you could get.
No waits for Cyber Space Mountain.
The gift shop at the exit had some guests shopping.
Several cast members playing with hula hoops out front. Not much else going on.
I paid a visit to the Orange Garage to see what I could see. Yep I traveled 2200 miles and walked around a parking structure.. that I had already walked around on a previous trip.
STK from the roof of the garage.
The new entrance for the Planet Hollywood Observatory.
The Edison
The walkway leading to STK looks like it will be opening soon. A second set of walls are present near Planet Hollywood on the right.
The new bus stop. Our driver said it is expected to open in June.
Palm trees waiting to be planted.
The Disney Springs water tower and beyond it the second parking structure (the Lime Garage)
Heading down.
The Coke building.
The bus stops. Notice the second set of walls there around the Coke building. Makes me think some of the bus stop may be opening earlier.
A covered waiting area. I think this may be valet parking or something maybe.
The Coke building and Planet Hollywood.
From ground level.
New digital directory signs are in place.
They say this will open in summer. Sure looks like there is a long way to go.
The walls are partially down on the bridge leading back to STK.
A look across at the other bridge/walkway that looks ready to open.
Notice the red directory sign in the Town Center area.
An ice cream kiosk near Planet Hollywood.
Another kiosk/store.
STK
Water flowing in the fountain.
Chairs on the top floor.
Continuing on past the Edison again.
Noticed a sign up in the distance today and the plywood is gone revealing windows.
A closer look.
A couple more pictures of the springs
Fultons to Paddlefish progress from this side.
More of the springs.
A video clip of the Town Center Disney Spring.
Found the rest of my group... they looked at me like I was crazy to visit the parking garage.. they went for ice cream instead.
Walls up for the store that will become the new boutique.
Decided to pay a visit to the other set of pedestrian bridges. I had not been on these yet.
Looking back at the Marketplace from the bridge.
A new Disney Springs sign being constructed at the corner of Hotel Plaza Blvd and Buena Vista Drive.
The Marketplace bus stop.
Buena Vista Drive
Looking the other way on Buena Vista Drive.
The Lime Garage in the distance
A second bridge spans Hotel Plaza Blvd at the intersection.
The bridge itself is just like the other one.
A map to help you if you are unable to place where this is.
Buena Vista Drive heading away from Hotel Plaza Blvd is reduced to one lane, no turning into the bus stop area.
Time to catch the bus to leave.
On the bus at 3:30pm.
The new sign from ground level.
Passing by the Lime Garage which looks ready to open soon.
It took half an hour on the bus to get to our next stop.. the Beach Club (it was 4:01 when we pulled in there). Those pictures start part 3.
