The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
A clear morning today. A couple pictures on my way to the bus at Pop Century.
All is quiet at 8am.
Bus stops were not too busy.
My first stop today is the Animal Kingdom.
This is 8:32am, about half an hour before park opening.
Took some time to check out the Pandora - The World of Avatar construction while I waited for a friend and the park to open.
Looking closer you can get a better feel for the scale with the workers and the detail/greenery going into the floating mountains.
A black swan near the park entrance.
Pandora from the Rain Forest Cafe entrance
Several dozen workers visible on the scaffolding this morning.
Scaffolding removed from this section so you ccan see the detail.
8:56am - Almost time for the park to open.
A video clip of the opening moment that features the Winged Encounter Birds.
The Wilderness Explorer map.
Tiffins opens Memorial Day weekend.
A look at Pandora from near Pizzafari
Looking down the path on the back side of the Tree of Life, this is taken from near the giant door/gate that says Harambe before you go over the bridge.
Temporary lights in Harambe for some after hours event.
Pandora from near the Harambe Theatre
The end of the road for now... this will be the path to Pandora eventually.
I always enjoy the signs/details in Animal Kingdom. Here are some on the restroom building that is located at the end of the path.
Notice the fishing line coming off the building and going down into the water with the plastic bottle.
A closer look at the bottle.
Looking up river toward Harambe
A closer look
The back of Tusker House which is where you enter for to dine now a days.
Next we visiting Pangani Forest. A hippo resting underwater.
It was a quiet walk.
A Zebra at the outlook.
A silver back gorilla
Another gorilla having a morning snack.
Free cookie samples in Zuris Treats this morning.
The Tree of Life, notice the ongoing work on the right. That is what I took a picture of earlier from the walkway through the trees.
A closer look at the work.
The Winged Encounter birds flying overhead for another show at the front of the park.
The Flights of Wonder seating cover has been redone. Wonder if they are still working on it or if this is the finished product.
Some of the signs in Asia. Notice the new one for the Lantern Festival (laying the groundwork for Rivers of Light).
A close up
I like how there are some props around the lights for Rivers of Light.. but no real attempt to camouflage the main light and cover during the day on most of the units.
The viewing area in front of the Theater in the Wild
The Thirsty River Bar. I do not know why but the site of a bar set up like this in the park does not sit well with me.
Some signs/props in Asia.
From the bridge by Everest the Rivers of Light area. Based the the viewing areas this looks to be almost show center.
Wheelchairs were out in one area. The wall looks too high to me. Seems if you were average height sitting in that chair it would be a challenge to see the show.
Bleacher seating in the top portion.
The Viva Gaia Street Band! was out on Discover Island near Flame Tree BBQ
You can see what will be the roof this new structure in the Flame Tree dining area in the middle, it will eventually be raised into place.
Crossed paths with Baloo
And King Louie
Random picture of the Rivers of Life equipment island from the Flame Tree dining area.
Everest from the dining area.
This snake was crossing the path as we headed to the bus stops. Almost saw two different people step on it. They were talking and not paying attention the ground or those of us trying to warn them there was a snake on the ground.
