Starting off this morning walking around the Boardwalk a bit. A look over at the Dolphin.
The Luna pool area is nice and quiet this morning.
A map of the Boardwalk.
The Christmas tree out on the lawn.
A look around the lobby.
A large gingerbread stand in t he middle. In the evening it sells fresh treats.
A closer look at the gingerbread stand.
Some facts and figures..
This carrousel in the lobby played Disney music from time to time.
Found some hidden Mickeys on a couple horses.
Next stop the Animal Kingdom. Noticed they painted on the ground to help guests know where to line up at the bus stops.
Saw several of the new gray buses. Also ones with a similar look but white instead of gray.
The Animal Kingdom Christmas tree is outside the park again this year (as it traditionally is).
All the turn stiles are gone and the entrance feels much more open now.
Some work going on near guest relations once you enter the park. Guessing a future kiosk location for the myMagic+
The Tree of Life.
Wilderness Explorers have a large presence in the park. I did not have any kids in our group and did not participate in the program.
Some renovation work on one of the animal areas in the Tree of Life Garden. This is where the otters used to be.
This sign was new to me.
Approaching Africa you are still greeted with walls as they work on the new Festival of the Lion King theater.
Speaking of the theater it is moving along.
If you look carefully around the park and listen to the cast members you can see how integrated the Wilderness Explorers have become.
The extended queue for the safari was set up but not in use this morning.
A Wild Africa Trek overlooking the hippo area.
Time for some safari pictures.
Just as it was drawn up. Several different animals visible in the distance.
A young giraffe with its mother.
Ducklings in one of the ponds.
The Zebra were running around a bit and the lions watching.
Next stop Pangani Forest and the gorillas. Here is a male silverback.
The family group had a tire swing but no signs of them.
Out in the lagoon by Asia was some equipment.
Best guess is some early proof of concept testing for the new nighttime show coming in a couple of years.
If you looked carefully around the lagoon you saw quite a bit of gear out.
Some Christmas merchandise.
One of the dining areas for Flame Tree was blocked off and looked to be the control center for the equipment.
Random Expedition Everest picture
New since my last visit, Mickey and Minnie have a new meet and greet location on Discovery Island.
The Lion King theater from the boat dock near Asia.
Random Tree of Life picture
Santa Mickey pop corn buckets. Seemed a little out of place in Africa.
The bar is moving and the area new area is behind walls.
This was interesting. Due to Fastpass+ the return time for the traditional Fastpass was actually tracking with the current time so no wait at all. The Standby line was posted at 15 minutes.
My Fastpass. It was issued at 13:50 and good at 1:50 (same time). So I was able to walk right on.
An extended queue set up for Fastpass returns. The MagicBands slow down the entry.
Water Buck on the Savanna
The Fastpass Return extended queue.
They were just about to open it up because the line had backed up.
Some of the treats available at the bakery.
Made a pass through Camp Minnie Mickey since its days are numbered.
The barriers as you approach the construction area up river.
Minnie and Mickey have left but some of the other characters are still around and using the greeting trails.
A large area for Fastpass+ returns.
The character trees are always fun to see.
On the way out of the park cut through the stores.
The music from the Animal Kingdom.
The track listing.
On the way out near guest relations they had maps from and time schedules from all the parks available.
Current bus stops.
Time to wait for my bus.
Our destination for dinner.. Shulas at the Dolphin.
They were setting up for the College Football awards show on the Boardwalk, the show was Thursday night.
The Swan/Dolphin were hosting a large Baseball meeting and tradeshow.
Inside the Swan a large chocolate display.
Some facts and figures
There were several receptions set up for various teams as you walked around.
The Dolphin Lobby tree.
The lobby was crazy with TV sets and a lot of people moving around.
Dinner was at Shulas. It was way too dark inside to take any pictures.
No sign of the Breathless, instead a fishing boat in its place (should have used a flash, oops)
No one out swimming this evening.
Made my way to Epcot and caught the end of the British Revolution set.
And then Father Christmas came out and spoke a bit.
The character Meet and Greet in the UK has Fastpass+.
The main Epcot Christmas tree.
Snowflakes near the tree.
Storytelling in Norway as I passed by.
All quiet in Germany.
Santas Village near the American Adventure
Mr and Mrs Claus out for pictures.
The new restrooms by the American Adventure are impressive.. and well over due to help with the crowds this time of year.
A quick look inside a the changing table.
The Candlelight was just getting under way.
Tonight Sigourney Weaver was the guest narrator.
Her opening remarks.
Another clip from the ceremony.
Found a pair of Glow with the Show Ears to stand behind for Illuminations (not on purpose just happened).
The ears do nothing with the show.. but thought they were interesting in the foreground.
Video of the finale and Holiday tag for Illuminations.
A pleasant walk back to the Boardwalk. I really enjoyed having a less than 10 min walk from the show to my room.
To close the night a look at the Boardwalk Christmas Tree.
