Another great morning looking out on the Magic Kingdom
And Seven Seas Lagoon
We headed off to EPCOT and the Around the World, Segway Experience
Since the park had not opened and only us tour guests and breakfast guests were allowed in I stopped for some pictures at the entrance
No one in our group wanted to be photographed/share the photo on the Segway so here are two shots of Italy from our break.
The sand display for the Disney Earth film
We were on our way to the Beach club and lunch at Beaches and Cream
But along the way I decided to pause and take some Flower and Garden shots
Noticed a pontoon boat in the dock..
Upon a closer look it was a pirate cruise (World Showcase had not officially opened yet, it was still a little before 11am)
Here goes the boat...
We strolled by Canada
And the UK as we headed for the International Gateway
The Pirate Cruise went ashore near the Beach Club
Noticed the restrooms were closed for some work
Our destination
One of the desserts
After lunch we headed to the bus stop
Spotted a turtle in the waterway
Had to stop by Blizzard Beach on the way to Animal Kingdom
Spotted the new dinning option at Animal Kingdom, Picnic in the Park.
You order and pay for your lunch here and then pick it up out in Harambre at a later time, lunch is basically sandwhiches
Also saw a more permanent sign for the announcement of the last safari ride of the day, vs the old temporary signs they would put in the walkway.
Here is where you pick up your picnic
There was a smaller cage inside, I was told this was for a young monkey.
A couple shots from the Pangani Forest
How many gorillas can you spot in this wide (and small) shot?
A closer look.. here is one
There are three here (one on the left and right then in the lower middle)
Over to the other side now
On Safari now.. a black rhino
This bongo stuck its tongue out at me
Wow I was 2 for 2 on seeing the monkeys
The white rhinos (wonder if one of them is the one we were up close with on the tour... should have asked how to tell them apart)
Back to the room for some R&R
Now I am going to break one of my own rules which is not to show family type shots... 2 of our group decided to give parasailing a try and I wanted to share the pictures.
The view from above
Breaking another of my rules.. I am in the pontoon boat that is just to the left of center in this shot taking pictures of them.
The boat passing close by to us
From above.. here you can see the wake of the tow boat going off to the right and then my boat going to the left..
We had to swing wide to avoid some traffic..
Coming in for a landing
It was approximately 8 minutes from when they left the boat till they set back down on the boat.
We spent the next half an hour or so going around Bay Lake and then over to the Seven Seas Lagoon for some pictures
The new pool area
The tennis courts
The Wilderness Lodge
Over in the Seven Seas Lagoon now looking at the Contemporary
Our room was the bottom row of rooms and the third in from the left
Spotted the police car out along the water.. not sure what they were doing.
The Grand Floridians pool area
Where we were for the Spirit of Aloha Show at the Polynesian
The Polynesians pool
Spotted another police car
Once back on dry land we walked over to the Magic Kingdom
Stopped by the classic CoP..
It looked like even more walls around Small World
The whistle on the Liberty Belle sounded like it needed a tune up.
Thought this was odd to have a sign this large out front of Pecos Bills
A quick trip through Pirates
This cart offered an odd selection in Adventureland...
The resort launches/boats were all using the same dock now, before the Polynesian/Grand Floridian used to use their own dock off to the right (closer to the monorail)
Our boat
Our destination.. dinner at Narcoossees
The view from our table
A look inside
The kitchen
Spent some time outside after dinner while we waited for our fireworks cruise
Our boat...
The boat we wanted.. but it was not included in the package or in our price range..
As we toured the lakes our guide pointed out something I never heard/noticed.. if you look at the Wilderness Lodge at night it looks like a bears head (or a hidden Mickey if you stretch your imagination a bit)... here is the best shot I could get.
Some of the neon was turned on the pool area of Bay Lake Tower
The electrical water parade
Another try at the neon
In position for the start of Wishes
Showtime
There were probably a dozen or so boats around us.. including the Grand One
The finale.
