Walt Disney World Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
A shot of one of the trees at the airport.
The Disney store at the airport
More Christmas decorations at the airport by the down escalators
Made it to the Magical Express checkin area which is now in the other terminal from our last trip in April.
No lines getting there at 6am
I can only image how this is later in the day.
We were escorted out to a waiting bus by the CM who met us at the counter
Sorry for the blurr.. we were leaving and they really didn't want to wait for me to take pictures...
The Pop Century Lobby with its Christmas tree
First stop was EPCOT to pick up our dining card
Then it was off to the Contemporary for breakfast
Noticed this work going on near the channel that leads backstage where the electrical water parade floats are docked
A crane up at the MK, more on this later
The North Wing of the Contemporary is blocked off for rehab/contruction
I got a kick out of this sign right next to the monorail track in the station
The Contemporary tree
Looking up from our table
And looking the other direction
We walked around the resort a bit.
A sign on the gift shop window
The pin booth is gone and replaced by these couple racks of items instead
Looks like new carpet and paint on the ballroom floor.. or it all just looked really clean and bright
Wi-fi antennas sticking up over the wall..
A large display near the main doors on the entry level.
Not sure what to call it..
Here are the incrediants
They have replaced some of the bricks with regular pavement at the MK bus stop, but the other side still needs to be done (we have some pictures on a later day)
New plants and bark..
Now into the Magic Kingdom
Took this shot to show what was missing.. the Christmas tree from Town Square. It was out by the Rose Garden still.
The large crane behind the castle doing rehab work.
I think the painted rehab tarps look great. Much nicer than the solid color Disneyland uses..
Here is the Christmas tree
Ice Cream sandwhiches are only $3.00 in Florida (Disneyland just raised their price from $3.50 to $4.00)
Signs for the new attraction are up.. but no signs of life today.
There is a stage set up for the High School Musical Pep Rally in Tomorrowland. The placement seems odd to me.. it doesn't fit in with the show at all.
Some painting in Fantasyland
A character meet and greet area
Here is a good shot of the painting going on.
Here are two shots of the new castle show. I will run a special section with complete photo coverage of the show.
I liked this shot of Big Thunder from Liberty Square
Some random Small World shots.
Still such a waste.. we really miss the Skyway
A couple shots from on the Magic Carpets in Adventureland
Next up Pirates
They have added new effects just like Anaheims version, only not as good in my opinion, same additions for the most part but the overall effect just is not there
I did not remember this large light rig near Splash Mountain.. looks like its missing some themeing or something
A look back through Frontierland
Big Thunder
A train pulling into the Frontierland station
Santa on Main Street
The monorails all have this on one side of the front and back cars for the Year of a Million Dreams
The WDW entrance near Cross Roads
Our first room of the day, out in the 80s.
We were able to see the WDW entrance sign from the railing that is how far out we were.
The poster in the 50s room we were moved to.
Someone lost a paratrooper in the trees
They added a new door to the luggage storage, my guess to help with the congestion in the front.
They were still putting the finishing touches on
A couple more shots of the Pop Century Lobby area
Noticed new bright LED lights at the entrance/exit to many of the buses
Back to EPCOT for the evening
The tree topper
I thought this looked rather bad. It was one of the stores as you enter World Showcase. Looks like the same signs from the store that used to be at Downtown Disney (note these items are not on sale, they are just priced under $10)
Off Kilter
Next up the Candlelight. We had a good standing spot.
Mario Lopez was the guest narrator.
Our postcard shot of the day.. this did come out nicely.
A large gingerbread house in the Liberty Inn
And in true Disney fashion they turned it into a giftshop/ODV location.
To close a close-up of the Angel on the top of the Christmas tree.
