Tokyo Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
8:15am - At the JR Maihama Station and ready to go.
8:16am - My train to Tokyo arriving.
Looking back at Tokyo Disney Resort as we sped away.
8:42am - Arrived at Tokyo Station and now trying to find the exit I want.. Ended up a few blocks from where I wanted to be... oops.
Walking by Tokyo Station at Street Level (I had wanted to exit out the front of that building to get pictures of it but instead had to walk a few blocks to reach it).
The road ahead.. walking over to the Tokyo Imperial Palace grounds.
Looking back.
All is quiet in Tokyo at 9am on a Sunday morning.
Babasaki Moat
I believe this is the Kokyo Galen National Garden
There was some signage to help you find your way around.
A map of the grounds. On my previous visit we went to the East Garden. Today we are heading to the other side to explore.
A closer look at where we will be walking through this morning.
There were some joggers from time to time but other than that really quiet in this area.
The Sakashita-mon Gate
Hamaguri-bori Moat with the Kunaicho Chosha (Imperial Household Agency Blgd) in the background
Making my way over to the Nijubashi Bridge area
The Sei-mon Gate, notice the guards on either side.
Fushimi-yagura in the distance
Some history of the area
The Sakurada-mon Gate
There were a lot more joggers on this side of the grounds.
I found this interesting. The joggers felt comfortable leaving their bags, drinks, etc.. on benches and the wall and then would set off for a lap which would take them well out of sight.
Gaisen-bori Moat
Looking the other way, across the road at the Hibya-bori Moat
Through the buildings we could catch a glimpse of the Tokyo Tower, our next destination.
Walking along Harumi-dori Ave on our way to the Tokyo Metro station.
9:38am - Found the Hibiya Station
9:53am - Resurfaced at Onarimon Station
Tokyo Prince Hotel
Zojo-ji Sange Datsumon Gate
There is signage to help you find your way or in my case confirmed my cell phone was telling me the proper direction.
A map of the temple grounds
A group of kids raising the flag for the day
care guardian deities of children
A description of the area
We walked up the street toward the Tokyo Tower but with the limited visibility decided not to hike up the hill to it and instead headed downhill to our next destination while taking in some views of the Tower
10:26am - Found Akabanebashi Station and on our way to our final stop this morning in Tokyo.
We found it really easy to navigate our way around the city. All the lines had colors and letters to identify them and then each station had a number which was helpful in finding the proper direction, did you need to go up or down numerically to be headin
The names, letters and colors were also marked on the ground in some cases to help you with transfers.
Once on the train there were digital displays with the same information and approximate times.
10:58am - Arrived at Shibuya Station and surfaced near the famous scramble crossing.
This area was substantially more crowded than anywhere else we had been so far. This was a Sunday morning so it was not insanely crowded but still very busy.
Many compare this to New York's Times Square.
Hachiko Memorial Statue
We moved to a second story window to get a view of the crossing. At peak times up to 3,000 people will cross during a single cycle.

Moving down to ground level and preparing to cross.

We walked up Koen Dori (Jingu-dori St.) and spotted a familiar sight across the street.
Then around the corner we found what we were looking for... a Disney Store of course :)
This is the facade for the store that faces the street.
The store spans three stories but is rather small on each.
Some elements of the store are highly themed like this walkway.
This is the 2nd floor space
A Pinocchio display
A Peter Pan display
This Toy Story room was on the 3rd floor
To get from floor to floor is a narrow spiral staircase.
The store is celebrating its 30th anniversary. I did not spot any other store specific merchandise really.
Back at ground level the Alice in Wonderland archway
A look around the first floor space.
Heading out.
A directory for the shopping center
Making our way back to the crossing and train station.
11:36am - About to cross then head down to the subway and back to Disney.
11:59am - The hand holds on the trains.
Some trains did not have digital displays and instead had maps like this.
12:30pm - Back at the JR Maihama Station
11:59am - The hand holds on the trains.
