Tokyo Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
One perk of flying international or transcontinental Delta One out of LAX is the Delta One Checkin area.
It has its own set of doors and is a much more relaxed experience than the regular lines. Here you are greeted and escorted in.
An agent takes your bags and IDs and you are shown into this lounge area to wait while they check you in and process your bags.
There are some snacks and beverages in the area. Then when they are done and you are ready you take an elevator upstairs to enter the security line.
Also since we were flying DeltaOne that meant access to the Sky Club. It was quite full this morning so I did not bother to take any pictures.
We boarded just after 9am. Here is my seat for the next 11 hours plus.
Looking across the aisle at another seat.
The menu for today.
My view as we waited for everyone to board.
Thanks to a delay waiting for the runway to take off we left the ground at 10:28am, slightly behind schedule. Due to construction we had to wait for longer runway that was being used for landings to be available for takeoff.
Looking North at the California Coast.
Some flight information.. Just under 5,500 miles to Tokyo.
We had a great view of where I live as we left the LA area. I live on the small valley just right of center in this picture.
The Settling In serving.. Butternut Squash, Date, and Meyer Lemon Compote. It arrived looking like this and for those of you who know my eating habits, it left looking the same.
The Starters. Roasted Autumn Vegetables, Assorted Breads, and Celeriac and Smoked Blue Cheese Soup.
One of the Main Course choices - Seafood Spinach Lasagne
Another choice the Chicken Breast
For dessert their was a sundae bar. I opted for some plain vanilla ice cream.
A look at the choices on the cart.
Our flight path this afternoon took us north to Alaska then West.
If you were curious here was the TV. Delta business class is not very modern.
The Almost There Meal - Scrambled Eggs with Cream Cheese and Chives. Still not sure why it was breakfast food. It was lunch time in Tokyo.
The Coast of Japan. Not sure exactly where we are. We did fly by Fukushima.
Approaching the Tokyo area.
Looking back..
As we approached the Tokyo area you could see Mt Fuji above the clouds.
Downtown Tokyo
Tokyo Disney Resort is just to the left of the center of this picture on the peninsula sticking out into the bay, it is on the far side, Mt. Fuji in the background.
A closer look. You can make out the official hotels along the top edge from this angle. We stayed in the one on the left.
As we swung around to get into the landing pattern for Haneda, Tokyo Disney is on the left near the middle of this picture.
Another view of Mt. Fuji.
Random countryside as we were on final approach.
Almost down, looking across the Bay toward Tokyo Disney Resort.
One of the far runways of Haneda is built on the water.
Looking across at Tokyo Disney right before touchdown.
Touchdown at 2:36pm Tokyo Time.
One of the domestic terminal buildings.
Heading outside to wait for the bus.
Well I understand Welcome to Japan and stop 6.
We bought our ticket inside at a counter. Your other choice is an automated machine.
My bus ticket. Only 830 yen to get to the hotel.
Our bus stop..
Some English did pop up as part of the rotation.
A look around.
Our bus pulling in right on time. 3:45pm
The stops ahead of us...
It did go to English too.
Got the scenic tour of the airport as the bus went on to stop at the two domestic terminals.
Finally leaving the airport.
Just in time to run into the evening traffic. It was just after 4pm on a Saturday.
I see a lot of red and yellow.
The same as we got closer to the city.
A first glimpse of Disneyland. Notice the Castle and Space Mountain. To the right in the distance is Tower of Terror.
Tokyo Disney exit..
A sign to guide you.
An auxiliary parking lot, not in use today.
A Christmas traffic cone?
The entrance sign.
We drove around to several stops at Disney, we were the last stop. Notice parking is 3,000 Yen. Which is just under $30.
Passing by Bon Voyage (think World of Disney)
A Disney Resort Cruiser decorated for the holidays.
A nice view of Mount Fuji from the bus as the sun was setting, it was just before 5pm.
The bus dropped us off on the 1st floor of the Sheraton and we had to walk upstairs to checkin.
Plenty of Christmas decorations around the hotel.
A photo op on the lobby level.
Made it to our room at 5:15pm. Had a few minutes to take a look around before the bags arrived. We had four beds in our room.
The table and TV side of the room. We did move one of the twin beds over here to put suitcases on.
Not a lot of drawer space.. this was it really.
A small bar area with some free bottled water and a fridge.
To the left the closet to the right the bathroom
In the closet a safe.
Now the best part of the room.. the view. We could see Cinderella Castle across the parking lot.
And to the right Tokyo DisneySea.
Our bags showed up, unpacked a few things and were over to the Bayside Station waiting for the monorail at 5:55pm.
The monorail we drew this trip featured Christmas hand holds (the other choice was DisneySea 15th Anniversary crystals).
Arriving at Ikspiari from the Gateway station.
Our destination this evening for dinner (yep I am real adventurous). It was approaching 6:20 by this point because we went in search of a Welcome Card at Ikspiari which saved us 10% off dinner.
A concert was going on in the central courtyard near the Disney Store.
The Disney Store.
A poster for the performer.
Stopped by the Disney Store.
Rain Forest Cafe specials
Most of the stores had Christmas decorations. Here are some at Rain forest
We walked over to the Disney Ambassador Hotel.
Plenty of decorations near the restaurants
Inside the Tick Tock Diner
Looking into the Empire Grill
Stopped by the gift shop next.
Then went out front. They had a lot of lights up for the season.
A couple of trees were part of the display too.
Looking toward the front entrance.
Mickey
Inside trees flank the staircase by the ballrooms
Walking back to Ikspiari
The Gateway Resort Line Station decked out for the season.
A great Christmas photo op.
This time we were on one of the 15th anniversary monorails.
Each car has its own crystal / color.
Tokyo Disneyland from the Disneyland Station.
A Christmas photo op at the Disneyland Station.
I walked next door to the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel
These looked much better than they photographed.. but you can get an idea for it. The character topiaries had lights to match their primary color.
Heading inside.
A tree outside of Canna
A look at the decorations around the lobby.
The front desk.
Mickey and Minnie flank the entrance with Christmas Banners.
Back outside and walking toward the Resort Line Station
A construction wall at the Resort Line Station.
A monorail leaving the station.
Caught Sky High Wishes from the Station before boarding.
To close out the day the photo spot at the Bayside Resort Line Station.
