The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
After the show (see Part 2) I set out to explore the park and experience some of the outdoor attractions before the weather turned bad. Mount Prometheus
A check of the wait times at 4:52pm, only a couple triple digits.
Passing back by the Biglietteria where the lottery is for the Big Band Beat.
We noticed cast members heading toward the Venetian Gondolas
A drinking fountain (also notice the drain pipe in the background).. as I mentioned the level of detail in this park is amazing.
The Gondolas had not reopened and a line was forming so we got in line.
The Hotel MiraCosta from the queue.
No wait time posted yet since it is not open. We waited about 20 minutes.
A check of the queue.. I thought I took a picture but guess not.. there were benches in between so some could sit if needed.
A gondola awaiting guests.
Almost ready to reopen.
Cast Members waiting to go.
Boats were leaving now.
And the first one returning.
The queue was full now and building.
Onboard and cruising the canals. The cast members looked to be working hard to move and guide the gondolas.
This one drifted into our path.
You go out into the Mediterranean Harbor a bit.
Here are some video clips from our experience on the Venetian Gondolas
Yes this was April... it was cool in the 60s.
Right as he was about to sing Mt Prometheus went off.
If you were curious the gondolas can hold 16 guests.
A Mediterranean Harbor Trashcan
Restrooms..
Passing back through the American Waterfront area
Looking across the Mediterranean Harbor
In the distance you can see Cinderella Castle.
To my left the American Waterfront and beyond it Tokyo Bay.
Ahead Mysterious Island.
A Photospot. Fuji film is the sponsor here.
The view of Fortress Explorations from the photo spot
And Mediterranean Harbor
Next to it was a video spot.. sponsored by Panasonic.. same views more or less.
Mount Prometheus
A closer look.
Looking back toward the American Waterfront
More trashcans for those who enjoy seeing them. Guess these are part of Mysterious Island.
Next up Port Discovery. Here is the Aquatopia
Looking back and up..
Not a bad line so we decided to go for a spin.
Some rules..
Two queues.. both short.. but plenty of space for massive lines.
Behind us more extended queue space.
Time to board.
You do not get to control anything. You passively ride along. Also interesting is it is a trackless system and it drives along.. it does not float.
Here is a POV video of my experience.. it is rather bouncy... so you have been warned.
Exiting. Beyond that wall is Tokyo Bay (well the monorail, a road, the real seawall, then Tokyo Bay)
The Stormrider Attraction
Looking back at Aquatopia
We headed up to the DisneySea Electric Railway station to head back to the American Waterfront
A posted 10 minute wait.. turned out to be less.
A snack shake opposite the queue.
A closer look at the menu
Again a mostly empty queue.
A rail car waiting to pull in and the Tower of Terror looming in the background.
You can see some lights out in Tokyo Bay
Mediterranean Harbor from the railway.
Passing over New York in the American Waterfront
Our next destination. Time to use our tickets for the Big Band Beat.
Some signs along the way.
I had a few minutes so a quick walk to Waterfront Park
A video clip of the fountains in the park in action.
Time to head in for the show.
Just about to open the doors.
The crowd was moving.. no time for lobby pictures.
A look inside the theater.
No pictures were allowed during the show or of the theater really (they asked you to put your camera down at this point).
After the show it was about 20 to 8:00pm and Fantasmic was at 8 so we went in search of a spot.
This wraps up this part.. the next section will feature Fantasmic.
