Shanghai Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
Making my way toward Fantasyland by way of the Enchanted Storybook Castle.
The viewing area from this side (this is the right side when looking at the castle.
Approaching the castle.
There is a set of walkways that lead through the middle.
Looking into the Royal Banquet Hall Entrance.
Ringing the center of the castle are four murals. Starting with Brave.
Frozen
Princess and the Frog
And wrapping up with Tangled.
Looking up in the center. The windows are for the castle walk through.. I will visit that on a later day.
The back side of the castle.
Looking down at the Alice in Wonderland Maze.
Decided to visit the maze next.
Along the walkways are displays that tell the Alice in Wonderland story.
Realized that was just the queue I walked through, time to actually enter the attraction.
A choice of paths.
Yep these kids were kicking the door which caused a sound effect of dogs barking and the parents were filming away..
A cave to pass under the walkway I was on earlier.
The Queen of Hearts garden is on this side.
Several photo ops along the various paths.
Up there is where I was taking pictures from earlier of the maze.
A map of the maze to help you out.
Some nice views of the castle as the sun began to set.
The final scene is the Mad Tea Party
Looks like a meet and greet location.
A Magic Passport station. There were several of these around the park. You could purchase the passport then have it stamped and collect a prize.
Looking back at the castle.
I ventured to the last portion of the park.. the back of Fantasyland which featured the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (same attraction as Walt Disney World).
Wait times were long.
Even single rider was long.
There was an extended queue set up.
A cast member with a wait time sign at the end.. it says 120 minutes.
A mine train racing by.
The mine exit at the top of the hill.
A short video clip of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train racing by.
Next to the Mine Train is a small Winnie the Pooh area with two attractions, meet and greet and gift shop.
Here is the gift shop
The fence reminded me of Toontown.
The second attraction in the area is the Hunny Pot Spin (replacing the Mad Tea Party here).
Wait times were always 30 min or more so skipped it.
A look at some of the snacks available in the area.
The Tangled Tree Tavern is located between Winnie the Pooh and the Frozen theater in the back corner of Fantasyland.
It was closed this evening so a look at the board out front.
Another park area like I saw in Treasure Cove.
Approaching the Frozen Sing Along. I skipped this since I did not want to sing along in Mandarin (nor English).
More snacks.
Leaving Fantasyland.
Glancing toward Toy Story Land to see if they were letting anyone in... no regular guests.
The parade route light and sound towers in Tomorrowland.
Tomorrowland trashcans.
Decided to sit and take a break in Tomorrowland then ventured down the path to the Star Wars Launch Bay.
Noticed drinking fountains along the way.
They were not in service though. But thought it was interesting signage and instructions.
A listing of what awaits me.
The entrance to the building.
Heading inside.
BB-8 was right in the walkway.
Some costumes and props in display cases.
The place was a ghost town. 0 min wait for the Millennium falcon cockpit.
Another display.
R2 was out at one of the Meet and Greets
Since no one was around he talked to me a bit
The sign said 5 minutes for Darth Vader but that was wrong.. he was just out a moment ago trying to recruit guests to visit him.
Kylo Ren was doing the same.
The Millennium Falcon cockpit we saw the sign for earlier.
We kept an eye on the Buzz Lightyear sign and when it dropped below 30 we decided to give it a go.
There was a about 5 minutes of queue outside then we headed inside.
Hard to tell in this picture but there was someone walking around the queue trying to sell things (a guest selling knock offs.. he ignored us since I later found out they mostly accept WeChat Payments and they know westerners do not have that usually)
The total wait time was about 20 minutes only.
No pictures from the ride.. I was looking around and shooting.. thought I received a good score for a first time through an attraction.
You exit through Intergalactic Imports.
Looking toward the castle from the upper level of Tomorrowland.
Tron as the sun was setting behind it.
My first close up look at the Tron coaster.
A 105 minute wait at 5:25pm
A photo op and test bikes out front.
Lockers are provided for riders
The sea of people is the standby queue.
A clip of the TRON Lightcycle Power Run passing by first at regular speed then slow motion.
A look at the design center.
The Castle from Tomorrowland
Club Destin-E was about to start on the Pepsie E-Stage.
Turns out it was just a DJ and kids dancing.
Passing by Toy Story Land on my way to Fantasyland to use my one FastPass of the day for Peter Pan.
Near Peter Pan.
The wait was 50 minutes. I realized I was early so decided to go get a bite to eat.
The wait was over an hour so no grotto voyage today.
Fantasyland drinking fountains.. never saw anyone use one.
Decided to visit Pinocchios Village Kitchen for dinner.
It was a scramble style location. Too many people for pictures so here are the menus.
Some of the Pizza choices.
We opted for Pizzas and figured out how to use our season pass Wechat coupon even.
A look around one of the dining rooms. It was crowded.
They had some rooms closed already.
Back to Peter Pan at 6:30pm to use our Fastpass.
Scan points look the same.. but the cast members get your picture on their screen to verify identity.
The lights taking effect as it was past sunset now.
Walked over to Treasure Cove and decided to get in line for Pirates. It was just before 7pm.
No pictures from onboard as I wanted to enjoy it on a first pass.
Made my way back to the Gardens of Imagination to find a spot for Ignite the Dream. It was about 10 minutes before showtime so choice were limited.
Found this spot near the Carousel.
A very large crowd going back to Mickey Avenue behind me.
At show time my view quickly disappeared..
I quickly learned the game and everyone kept moving around for position so I did too and got an ok view after several minutes.
After the show joined the masses leaving. Since we were nearer the back it was relatively easy.
Looking back at the crowd heading my way as I exited.
We opted to take the ferry. No one was heading that way.
Stopped in the room then went up to check out the nightly story time at 9:10pm. A cast member had gathered the kids and was reading to them.
Mickey Mouse Arrives for the finale and some good night photos.
This ends a busy first full day in Shanghai. Tomorrow we head to the city for some sightseeing.
