Disneyland Paris Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
A sample of the signage at a Metro Station to help you find your way out.
If you have bad knees or do not like steps be sure to look for the escalator symbol like this one.
Passing a digital board where the next train heads toward Disney. We have two more sightseeing stops so not yet.. but will circle back here in a couple hours.
We surfaced right across from the Arc de Triomphe. Our plan was to arrive around sunset when we set up the day and we came pretty close to right on time with all our estimates. It was just before 7pm.
We were across the round about from the arc.. the traffic here can best be described as organized chaos with cars, bikes, etc.. all traveling the same direction but no real semblance of lanes.
Notice there is one traffic cop out there. He would blow his whistle and wave as he walked in between the cars and amazingly almost all obeyed him.
Here is a video clip of the scene.
Looking behind me..
I was standing on the corner of Avenue des Champs-Elysees and Place Charles De Gaulle
There was a tunnel under the street out to the arc.
Looking up into the arc
A wider shot.
I believe this is Avenue de la Grande Armee
The tomb of the unknowns lies at the base of the arc
Av. des Champs-Elysees
The Eiffel Tower in the distance.
A wider shot
Our original plan was to go up to the top of the arc and watch the sunset and lights come on. But we had enough stairs and decided instead to look around then head to another vantage point to see the lights.
Av des Champs-Elysees
Wonder how many fender benders are here daily..
Back to the Metro to head to our final stop of the day. But I noticed something I did not see earlier. The metro actually rides on tires.
A closer look
We returned to where we started our morning.. Trocadero and looking at the Eiffel tower from the hill.
The fountains were on this evening.. they were not this morning.
Lights were coming on for the evening. This was about quarter to 8.
A lift going up to the top.
Some pictures as we waited for the light show at the top of the hour.
Very hard to make out in this picture but there were a couple of rats or large mice running around as we waited..
Showtime...
There were spotlights and a lot of strobe lights. Not sure what I was expected. It looked good but was not overly impressive to me.
By 8:05pm the show was over and normal lights were back on.
Here is a brief video clip/sample of the lights. We left soon after this for the Metro.
Then transferred to the RER A for the ride back out to Disney. Almost there..
Back at Disney and waiting for a bus back to our hotel at 9:18pm to wrap up our sightseeing day. Tomorrow we are off to Versailles.
