Disneyland Paris Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
This trip we splurged and upgraded our seats to business class. This meant we were able to try out the new Delta One at LAX service. This is the entrance sign for it. This was just before 10am on Saturday. We left our house about an hour before this.
You are greeted by someone at the curb and they take your bags and do the checkin. While processing the checkin you can go sit in a lounge. Here is one of the walls.
Snacks and beverages while you wait.
There were also kiosks if you wanted to check anything. Then they led you up to security and to the Sky Club.
Found a seat with a view.
Our plane arriving. All on time so far.
Delta One Business seats are all lay flat. Here is where I got to spend the next 6 plus hours on the way to JFK.
We received a little kit with toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc..
Also noise cancelling headphones to use.
The seat controls.
We each had our own large LCD screen.
Before takeoff they served orange juice and champagne.
Looking out one of my two windows.. I could see our suitcases waiting to be loaded on the plane.
The menu for the flight.
The inside of the DeltaOne Menu.
Pushed back from the gate at 1:15pm and ready to start this journey.
Airborne at 1:31pm
It was a nice clear day for flying here in Los Angeles.
Catalina Island
Always fun to pass over familiar sights.. everyone should know this one... the Disneyland Resort!
Since people always ask me for more food pictures this trip I tried to take a bunch, most are cell phone so not the best.. but I will include them. This is the antipasto misto.
Was really happy to have live TV on the flight. With a Saturday that meant a lot of Football to watch and the flight went really fast. One complaint I do have is you pay thousands of dollars for DeltaOne and you still have to pay extra if you want wi-fi! It should be included in the premium service.
I had the beef filet.
The dessert.
Passing over New York City just past 9pm local time.
On the ground and pulling into our gate just before 10pm. This was about 40 minutes late. Our Air France Flight leaves at 11:20pm.
It was an adventure to get to the correct terminal and gate. We arrived just before 11pm and found our plane but no signs of live.. no one boarding, no gate crew.. We found out the flight was delayed an hour from another passenger. Neither app (Delta nor Air France) bothered to tell me this! Nor the gate sign. About 11:20 I did get an email from Delta saying so. But no other alerts. Very poor.
My business class seat onboard Air France. A little newer and nicer than DeltaOne.
Another large LCD Screen. This one was adjustable too.
A storage compartment with headphones.
The entertainment system remote.
Pushed back from the gate and were on our way around 12:30am.
The Air France Safety Video.. just like others tries to be entertaining.
Airborne just past 12:41am
Oops forgot to take the picture before I started. They served a meal during the night but I was sleeping and missed it. Speaking of sleeping I am about 6 feet tall and had no problem using the lay flat bed.. plenty of room. This was the light breakfast around 11:46am.
Passing by the southern tip of England just after noon. A clear day on this side of the Atlantic too.
Here is the flight map to show where we are.
Just before 1pm somewhere outside Paris.
Touchdown just past 1:00pm
Off the plane and heading for customs at 1:11pm
This is where things took a bad turn.. the luggage took forever to show up and only 2 of our 3 did so we had to file a lost bag report and hope it would show up. We finally finished that, and luckily our car was still waiting. Finally leaving the airport at 2:40pm.
On the road to Disneyland Paris.
Spotted a familiar face on a sign just before 3pm.
There were a lot of road signs in the area.
In the distance my first glimpse of the Disneyland Hotel and beyond it Sleeping Beauty Castle. This was at 3:05pm
To either side fields of corn.. the resort is in a farming area.
Passing the first Disney Hotel.. the Newport Bay Club.
The entrance to ours, the Sequoia Lodge
Made it to our room and dropped the bags at 3:41pm. This is the view we had which is the front of the hotel.
Found our park tickets and prepared to head out.
Before doing so a very quick look around the room.
This was a standard Golden Forest Club Room.
The large bottle of water was on the table for us when we arrived.
The bathroom area.
Not a lot of space to hang up clothes.
The elevator lobby on our floor, we were on the 7th/top floor.
The elevator doors could use some paint. They were looking rather worn.
Down on the 2nd/main floor. to the right the back of the hotel and walkway to the parks. Behind me the north wing. In front of me the south. To the left the gift shop.
We stopped by the Golden Forest Lounge to see what was there.
The lounge was open for breakfast in the morning then beverages most of the day and a light snack in the mid afternoon.
Inside the Golden Forest lounge.
A look at the light snack.
I did not take a picture of it but there was a refrigerator with Coke products as well as a hot beverage station.
4:30pm and on our way to the Disney Village (their Downtown Disney)
Some renovation work going on at the decking off the 2nd floor.
The grounds of the lodge.
Looking back at the hotel.
Next door is the Hotel New York.
Disney Village is a short walk from the hotel, under 10 minutes.
At the far side of the lake is the Newport Bay Club which is being renovated.
Hotel New York
No ice skating in front.. instead a track with cars for kids.
A look at Lake Disney. Some boats out this perfect afternoon.
They are renovating the walkway around the lake. I have pictures on later days of the walls and new pavers.
Took this picture for Denise at MouseSteps.. she is an advocate for Earl of Sandwich here. I was on a meal plan and did not stop to eat there but thought I would share a picture of it.
A fair number of guests in the village this Sunday afternoon
A brief look as we walked through. We were on a quest for dinner then to get to the park before sunset to see a couple attractions before they closed.
There is also a McDonalds.
A Disney Store (and a World of Disney too)
Disney Village trash can.
We decided to eat at Annettes for dinner. Because there was no line, it was on the way, and we knew we would like the burgers.
A look at the menu. We had the plus meal plan so we could order from the sections with the plus logo.
Onion ring starter
Cole slaw starter
My main course.. a burger and fries.
Milkshakes for dessert.
A look around the seating area.
The counter area.
The front of Annettes as we headed for the park.
Planet Hollywood.
The entrance sign for the park. I have it on an angle because I did not want to leave the secure area and have to go back through security...
The Walt Disney Studios Park.. will be visiting there in a couple days.
The Disney Legends statue and Disneyland Hotel mark the park to Disneyland Park.
The floral Mickey is out front of the hotel and park.
Under the hotel is the main entrance and ticket booths.
A look at the ticket booths as I head to the entrance. The next section will feature my entry into the park. It was approaching 6pm at this time.
