Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
We are going to walk to the park from the hotel. Passing by the flags out front.
Looking up our room is on the top floor in the middle of this picture
The Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel sign along the street/walkway.
Plenty of signs to direct you if you need help. 700m to the park from the sign, this that probably makes the complete trip room to train station about 1000m.
The walkway is called the Park Promenade. Did you catch the operating hours... all day.
A map of the property to help give you an idea.
The entrance sign on this side of the promenade matches the one on the other side by the transportation area.
Some topiaries along the walkway.
Looking ahead. I did not realize it at the time but this is about the busiest we would see the walkway. Most of the time we were by ourselves on it.
Several fountains and seating areas along the promenade
The large fountain marks the entrance area to the park. Beyond it you can see the archway we saw in the morning near the bus stops.
A familiar sight.. ticket booths. Notice the queues are covered here.
The train station in Hong Kong matches Disneyland in Anaheim.
Made it into the park.. my 7th Disney park (3rd Castle Park)!
A familiar yet different sign... that is my theme for the park... felt almost like home but slightly off.
Tonight the objective was a walk through of the park to get a feel for it. Not a lot of detail shots.. so with that in mind a quick look at the attraction posters as you enter.
Stepping into Town Square. Main Street is brick here and no trolley tracks.
The Town Square side of the Train Station. The small building to the right is an elevator for accessibility.
The Railroad is closed due to work on the Iron Man attraction in Tomorrowland.
A Main Street USA trash can.
The photography store is in Town Square and Kodak is still a sponsor here.
No flag pole.. instead a band stand in the center of Town Square.
It is decorated for spring. Through Main Street are displays. Spike the Bee is present in quite a few.
Turning onto Main Street USA. The first block on the left is being worked on so it is covered. As is the Castle.
This turned out to be among the busiest times I saw the street.
Great to see an Omnibus in action (as well as a couple cars).
More spring time plants and Spike the Bee sightings
At center street a Market.. featuring Mickey waffles!
The Bakery next door, no Starbucks make over here.
Looking back down the street.
Part of the line board in the hub, this was just after 6pm.
Making my way toward the Castle. The upper portion is under wraps for renovation.
This walkway is the parade route leading to the back of the park, just like Disneyland in Anaheim. To the right is Tomorrowland to the left Fantasyland.
The entrance to Tomorrowland from the hub.
Looking toward Adventureland.
No partners statue here. For spring Mickey and Minnie are in the center of the hub.
Off to the right Snow White Grotto.
As soon as you pass through the Castle and into Fantasyland a mob of guests in line to meet the Frozen sisters. They are as popular in Asia as they are in the States.
A closer look. Anna and Elsa are on the stage and Olaf off on the side, no one seemed to want a picture with him though.
Fantasyland.. Cinderella Carousel is directly in front of you.
Speaking of Cinderella off to the side was a display to promote the feature film.
Frozen in the store window.
Fantasyland trash can.
The menu at the Royal Banquet Hall (which is where Snow Whites Scary Adventure & Pinocchio are in Anaheim on the left as you enter Fantasyland... seems I forgot to take a wide shot today).
I did take a couple quick pictures of the food on display near the menu.
Passing by Dumbo
Philharmagic is on the left in Fantasyland.. taking the place of Pinocchio and the Village Haus restaurant at Disneyland more or less.
Merlins gift shop on the walkway leaving Fantasyland.
A small photo op for Pixie Hollow between Fantasyland and Adventureland.
A new walkway splits off and goes under the train tracks for the three new lands added to the park.
Here is the walkway.
A closer look at the signs
First up is Toy Story Land.
Woody greets you as you enter from this direction.
A line to meet Jessie.
Benches...
The gift shop for Toy Story Land (on subsequent trips through I take an in depth look throughout.. this is just a sampling of the area).
Another photo op, this one featuring RC
A snack shack
Learned later in the visit this is the only place in the park that sells Churros. Also note these are Hong Kong Dollars.. so divide by 8 to get a rough idea of US Dollar prices. So about $4.50 for a churro.
Slinky Dog has his own attraction.
Toy Soldier Parachute Drop entrance.
Just under an hour today. I think this was the longest wait I saw all week.
A photo op right before the queue.
That is the queue for Slinky Dog.
The other attraction in the land is RC Racer (the u shaped track you see).
Rex is at the other entrance to the land.
A Toy Story Land trash can
Next up Mystic Point.
To the right is the Explorers Club Restaurant
Straight ahead Mystic Manor
A quick look at the menu for the Explorers Club
A look at some of the food on display near the menu.
Mystic Point trash cans
Mystic Manor
As I was debating if I wanted to wait 30 minutes the attraction went down and everyone came out of the queue.. so I did not have to make the decision and would have to try later.
Continuing down the trail to Grizzly Gulch
This area is called Geyser Gulch and is a water play area.
The Bath House is home to the restrooms for the land.
Next door the Lucky Nugget
A closer look at the menu.
Food samples
The entrance to the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars attraction (the coaster)
The sheriff was not in when we passed the jail.
A mine train going by.
The peak...
Grizzly Gulch trash can
Roastie-Toasties are present in Hong Kong too. Here is one in Grizzly Gulch
The cart sold caramel flavor popcorn.
The Jungle River Cruise passes around what in other parks is the Rivers of America. On the Island is Tarzans Treehouse.
They offer the cruise in three languages.. we choose English since it is the only one I know!
A couple of really poor pics since it was quite dark and the boat moved fast. I go on again another day and get better pics and video.
The finale, which this picture does absolutely no justice to, features water, fire, and fog effects.
We decided to find a spot to wait for Paint the Night and snack/food while we waited. A look at the Main Street Market offerings (we ended up with Mickey waffles).
Also walked through Bakery..
One in the group got the hot dog on the top. He reported it was ok.
A Mickey Balloon for sale on Main Street.
The parade was cancelled due to weather so we now had free time...
So walked back through Adventureland.
And Grizzly Gulch.
On my way to a now open Mystic Manor.
Lord Henry Mystic and Albert as you enter the queue, since this was first time only a couple random pictures as I walked through and tried to soak in the story. The basic story line is Lord Henry is an explorer who travels the globe. On one of his trips he saves Albert who becomes his companion for future trips. They collect artifacts on these trips and bring them home to Mystic Manor.
There was no wait at all this evening.
More items from his travels on display.
Waiting to enter the preshow.
In the preshow a short video to introduce the story in case you missed it in the queue.
Albert makes an appearance.
Then it is time to board.
Since it was my first trip I enjoyed the ride. I did snap a few pictures since I could not resist..
I will try to explain in later passes.
Black light merchandise in the gift shop as you exit. (there was regular merchandise too.. this was attraction specific so I snapped a quick pic)
Since there was no wait I had to go again!
In the last room while you wait for the pre show the wall features a map of the manor and descriptions of some of the artifacts you will see/encounter on your trip.
I have video of the queue and preshow on a later day.
A little more of the story for those who are interested. The newest addition is a magic music box. Seen here in front of Albert. Albert is interested in it because of the monkeys on it. He wants to get inside but is told not to touch it.
Of course he does not listen and opens the box.
This sets free magic dust and anything it touches comes alive.
For example musical instruments seen here
Then we travel into the Mediterranean Antiquities room
And the artwork comes alive.
Followed by the Solarium
Albert runs into some trouble in the Tribal Arts room.
The Monkey King in the Chinese Salon
This room comes alive with a tornado
Albert closes the box in the final scene.
And Lord Henry checks on him to make sure nothing is going on..
Decided vs a third ride I would head to Main Street.
This reminded me of Animal Kingdom.
Pluto in the hub with Spike the Bee
Since I had not been into Tomorrowland yet headed that way.
One of the larger dining location the Star Liner Diner is to the right when you enter Tomorrowland
The menu.
A quick look inside. No lines tonight.
Buzz Lightyear is in the corner between the diner and the Iron Man construction.
Space Mountain sits near the back of the land on your way to Fantasyland.
Stitch Encounter is in Space Mountain.
The Golden Mickey theater entrance in Fantasyland.
Another of the Roastie-Toasties this time in Fantasyland.
Small World has lights year round here.
The Mad Hatter Tea Cups
The back side of Sleeping Beauty Castle
A check of the wait times at 9:45pm. Notice the longest wait.. the Autopia. This held true throughout the trip.
Walked around Main Street while I waited for the fireworks.
Picked a spot on Main Street similar to where I usually watch from in Anaheim.
Show time for Disney in the Stars Fireworks.
There were some projections on the castle, which were hard to make out from this distance.
Cast Members out to wave good bye
A window for Walt and Roy above the firehouse.
More Cast Members waving good bye.
The fountain at night (better pics on another day..)
Time to walk back to the hotel
Notice all the people I encounter on the walk.
Here is a short video clip to show the area on the walk back.
A shuttle bus arriving at the hotel.
Walking up the driveway to the hotel.
Restroom signs as I walked toward the elevator
A final look at the carpet in the hallway before calling it a night.
That wraps up day 3. Tomorrow a full day at Hong Kong Disneyland.
