Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
The view from our balcony this morning. Hong Kong Disneyland is just beyond those trees. Below is the main entrance to the Disneyland Hotel and on the right a walkway that will lead toward the park.
Panning a little to the left. That is the mountain that is visible behind Fantasyland.
Continuing to pan left you can see the hotel. Beyond it the construction for the new hotel and beyond that the Hollywood Hotel.
Walking to the elevator and looking through a window you can see the pool area.
Looking beyond the pool the water and fog/clouds.
Off in the distance you can see the city.
Continuing down the hallway. Signage throughout is in English and Chinese
Looking down at the lobby. Quiet this morning.
Looking out the back windows of the lobby.
A closer look up at the dome above the lights.
A closer look at the Mickey design element.
The back of one of the tables in the lobby.
Looking out the back window at the Maze.
Spinning around looking back toward the front doors.
Inside Walts Cafe they were setting up for breakfast
We were heading for the shuttle bus stop.
looking back up toward the lobby.
The shuttle bus schedule.
A trashcan at the bus stop.
Parking lots down the driveway.
The banquet rooms have their own entrance

Our bus arriving.
It featured Grizzly Gulch
Driving by the Explorers Lodge construction. It opens in 2017.
The bus stopped at the Hollywood Hotel next
The main road for the hotels.
Onboard the bus...
A closer look at the two hotel stops.
The main entrance road for the park. This was around 8am and park opening was not until 10am so it was very quiet.
Arriving at the bus stops.
Mickey details
Guest Relations
Information signs
A closer look at the sign
The parking lot beyond the bus stops.
The welcome arch on the Park Promenade. The park entrance is to the right once you reach that whale in the distance. If you kept going straight beyond the whale you would return to the Disneyland Hotel where I started.
One of many open areas.
Making my way to the Disneyland Line MTR station.
A train in the station as we entered.
Guests and cast members arriving.
Approaching the platform.
We missed that train and had to wait about 10 minutes for the next.
Which gave me some time to take pictures of the station.
Waiting for the train...
The Disneyland Resort Line only has two stops.. Disneyland and Sunny Bay.
Here comes our train.
Onboard the train. Disney touches everywhere!
Each car had a couple of statues in cases.
As you can see not very crowded leaving the resort at this hour. Only one or two other people on the train.
Mickey hand holds.
A Hong Kong MTR map to help you plan your trip.
Looking ahead since we were in the first car.
One more long empty shot before disembarking.
At Sunny Bay Station.
Had to go up and over the tracks to catch a train in the right direction.
Waiting for our train...
A typical map showing you the line you are on and where it goes. We are taking this all the way to the end in Hong Kong station.
After the train ride we exited and all the websites said to follow the signs... and they were right the signs were easy to find. We were heading to Victoria Peak..
Along the way a look at some of the buildings.
Hong Kong has a series of Tramways also. Here is one cruising by.
Plenty of signage to help tourists like us out.
We passed St Johns Cathedral
Reached our destination.. the peak tram terminal.
Once you get inside a couple of displays on the history of the tram.
Waiting for the tram to arrive.
Found a seat onboard and ready to go up the mountain.
On our way.
I am trying to hold the camera level.. hard to tell the steep slope in pictures since my instinct was to try and straighten the buildings...
Pulling into the station at the top.
Of course you exit into a mall/shopping area.
And a wax museum.
The Hard Rock Cafe store was open. No cafe though..
Eventually we will be going up to the observation deck but it is not open yet.
So we explored the area a bit.
As we stood there the clouds/fog would blow in and obstruct the view quite a bit then clear some. Here are a series of pictures taken over a half hour time period.
What we should be seeing
What we see.
But if you wait a few minutes more comes into view.
Clearing up a bit.
Another tram arriving.
Heading back inside to go upstairs. A coffee shop with a view.
A series of escalators took you to the top.
A Bubba Gump along the way
The view from the Sky Terrace 428 (called that because the deck is 428 meters above sea level).
Where I was taking pictures from earlier.
Looking away from the city.
Other tourists up in the fog with us. As part of the package you got an audio device telling you the sights and some history.
Free WiFi up here so I was able to tweet a picture or two of the view/fog.
Here is a quick video clip of the fog/clouds rolling in.
The view of the city completely disappeared and we were in a cloud/fog bank.
Heading back down.
There is a mall next door so we walked over to check it out.
An old peak tram on display.
The Sky Terrace we were just on.
A McDonalds in the mall.
A quick check of their menu.
These are Hong Kong Dollars so divide by 8 to get a rough idea at the price in US Dollars.
Waiting for the tram back down.
A closer look at the cables that pull the tram up the hill.
A video clip of the tram pulling in.
Time to head down the mountain.
The fare table for the tram.
At the bottom there was a healthy wait now.
We decided to walk down to the Pier and catch the ferry across.
Passing more of the trams
Almost there...
A large Apple store in a building nearby.
Heading toward the central pier to catch the Star Ferry
A Subway along the way.
A new building rising on the far shore
A Star Ferry approaching.
A cruise ship in port
A building with the top in the clouds.
Heading out into the harbor.
Approaching the dock on the other side.
A Star Ferry with Hong Kong Island in the background.
Some pictures from the Pier/walkway now
That is where we were earlier.
There were museums and galleries in the area.
The Hong Kong Clock Tower
Not sure what this was but a bus on display at this building.
Small rail carts with artificial grass on them to sit or lay on.
Enter an upscale district.. stores like Tiffany & Co.
An advertisement for something.
We were on a search for lunch at this point since it was after noon.
Found something familiar and headed inside.
The view from our table.
A quick look inside.
Interesting.. still USDA beef?
In the same building there was also a Ruth Chris
Back out on the street and on our way to the MTR and our next stop.
Found an entrance.
Then took the moving walkways to the station/line we wanted which was several blocks away.
On board and looking to see how far to our transfer point.
The board lit up to show you the stations ahead and where to transfer (we were aiming for the green line)
Made our connection and were on our way in a matter of minutes.
Next stop the Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple
Interesting note this temple complex features three religions - Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism
A closer look at some of the details around the entrance.
Next up a walk through the Good Wish Garden area.
Some turtles hanging out on the rocks of the pond.
Time to move on. Lines of buses parked nearby.
We decided to walk to the next stop on our tour vs going back to the MTR. Wanted to see some of the city vs riding below it.
There were elevated walkways at many of the street crossings. This was nice to avoid traffic but tiresome to go up and down stairs or long ramps to cross a street.
We eventually made it to the Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden
Crossing over the street to the Nan Lian Garden
The Nan Lian Garden
A map to give you an idea of where we are/were. We started about the center of the map on that bridge and went to the left to the large courtyard first. Now doubling back to the garden on the right.
A closer look at the garden
And the Chi Lin Nunnery
Rules for the garden.
A map of the garden.
Heading inside.
This wraps up our tour of the garden.
Back to the MTR and the journey back to Disney which involved several transfers.
Luckily everything is very clearly marked.
A couple pictures from the train.
Back at Sunny Bay
The Disneyland Train arriving.
Again we were going against traffic with more guests leaving now and we were just arriving.
Found the Resort Hotel Shuttle bus for a quick trip back to the room
A Mystic Manner bus.
The carpet in the Disneyland Hotel on the way back to the room.
This wraps up part I of today. After a quick stop in the room we set out for the park and that will be Part II.
