Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
A video overview of the Star Wars / Rivers of America Construction site this afternoon from the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure
An overview picture of the site.
Starting on the left with the massive show building that continues to take shape.
A closer look as a start a pan from left to right (north to south) across the site.
More trees and rock wire mesh awaiting installation on the far side.
More trees have been put into place on the berm and Fantasmic Marina roof.
In the foreground more foundation work and walls going up for this side of the attraction.
Rebar reaching skyward from the holes now.
Walls going up near the circular structure. Looks like the forms are all in for the interior walls. Guessing concrete will be poured soon there if it has not been already.
No real visible progress on the basement area.
Crews working on the roof. More steel i-beams were being lowered into position this afternoon.
Steel waiting to be raised into place.
A look inside the building.
To get a feel for scale notice the workers in the middle on the second floor.
Trees waiting to be placed.
Wire mesh for rock formations staged and waiting for installations.
Trees are starting to be placed on the roof of the marina structure. Also some rock work taking shape to hide the large pipe we saw last trip.
The rock wall facing the park is moving along.
Guardians of the Galaxy in the distance.
Toward Critter Country the train bridge over the new walkway is starting to take shape.
Back to the walls and foundation work
This structure is a temporary support for the second floor that will be constructed.
To get a sense of scale notice the worker. The walls are well over 20ft assuming he is an average 6ft tall person.
A crew is working on the new bridge.
A better view of the new rocks that have gone up blocking the pipe view.
Here you can get a better glimpse of the new bridge.
A closer look.
They are enclosing the new backstage support building nearest Toon Town.
In the foreground you can just barely make out the forms for the foundation work of the second attraction building for Star Wars Land. This past week some news helicopter footage showing the site showed a the extensive foundation work.
All appears quiet on the far berm from this angle.
The new backstage building in the cast member parking lot looks complete.
This is the area to the left of the circular structure.
Looks like more preparation work for trees on the roof of the marina.
Another look toward the new bridge in Critter Country.
Panning to the right a little the wall that went up in the last few weeks.
An i-beam being lowered into place on the roof.
Crews working on the re-bar for this wall.
Here you can see the rebar extending from well that will be for the second floor.
A team moving a large wall form around.
A closer look at the wire mesh for rock work waiting to be installed.
More deliveries to the site.
A much better view of the new bridge.
The wall still on the move.
Rigging up another beam.
One last look before moving on.
The billboard at the tram stop has not been updated with the new end date. It still says June. The parade has been extended into August.
Timing... a tram passing our tram right as we are by the new backstage gate.
Looking back at the completed gate.
Arriving at the parks. The annual Eggstravaganza Easter Egg hunt is underway. There are 36 eggs.. 12 in Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney. spotted my first one as soon as I exited the tram.
A closer look at Mickey.
Maps are available at several locations. The redemption center for Downtown Disney is World of Disney.
Here is the redemption location in the middle of World of Disney. you bring your completed map back here and pick a prize.
Here are the prizes this year, same ones for all three quests. Maps are $5.99. I did not see a Downtown Disney map on display so no picture of it to share.
While walking out of the store spotted the Donald egg.
Spotted Minnie on my way to the parks.. three eggs in my first few minutes :) I am going to a separate series of posts on the eggs so will only include a couple throughout this picture set.
Oswald was greeting guests near his service station.
A Cast Member in front of the Five and Dime on Buena Vista Street showcasing the DCA Egg-Stravaganza
A look at the DCA Map for this year. The way it works is you purchase the map and get a set of stickers. You are supposed to go around the park, find the eggs and identify which character is in each location by putting that sticker there. Once completed you bring it to a redemption location and get your prize.
Spring treats in the window of Trolley Treats
Mickey was greeting guests near the fountain this afternoon.
Some DCA wait times at 1:52pm. The sign has not been updated to indicate Toy Story has FastPass now (and a longer wait thanks to it).
Nightmare Before Christmas in the window on the Pier. So have we moved to Halloween already? Does not seem like summer merchandise to me.
In line to pick up a Toy Story FastPass. Surprised there is no sign indicating return times anywhere near the distribution point. Guess that is the trend (same is true for Star Tours and Buzz over at Disneyland.. the signs are by the attraction and not the machines).
The machine.
My ticket.
At the attraction the standby wait is posted at 45 only. Half the line board, the app said 80.
Stopped to watch Mr. Potato Head for a while.
Next stop the AP area in Paradise Gardens. They were not selling the Food and Wine passes this afternoon.
Button distribution.
This week it is Donald.
Can you spot the Pluto Egg..
Guardians from the Pier
Tomasina peroforming... seems they got every Friday so I see the same group.
A long line to meet Nick Wilde from Zootopia.
Only one World of Color show tonight and tickets were gone when I walked by at 2:17pm
The Camp Notices board has seen better days.
Guardians and Carthay Circle
The FP return line for Soarin was backed up out into the walkway this afternoon.
Passing by Carthay Circle
The Beauty and the Beast preview is still running. Next up is Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales starting April 21st.
Preparing for a demonstration on the Backlot stage.
The other stage is being used for Performing Arts groups.
Almost all of the scaffolding is now removed from the Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! exterior.
Scaffolding up on the far left side near the gift shop
And some more scaffolding up over the entrance area.
Mickey and the Red Car News Boys cruising by.
A very different feel from the old tower.
This corner is not finished yet.
Noticed the mister fans are going for $20 now a days.
Walked through Trolley Treats
A selection of cake pops including egg stravaganza inspired ones.
Next stop Disneyland. Inside Disneyana, Shrunken Ned items in the vault.
Inside the Opera House Lobby in front of the Disneyland Map are several finalists in the Cast Member Environmentality Art Challenge. There were too many people to get a nice wide picture so here is a look at each sign and entry. Each team/department created an original piece of art using recycled items from the resort.
This one actually moved (I will have a video clip at in a few pages).
The winner this year was from the Golden Vine Winery.
Here is a video look at the finalists for the 2017 Disney Environmentality Art Challenge.
The Disneyland Redemption location is on Main Street.
There was a pass holder pin available for purchase too.
The Disneyland Map (I will have a separate post with all the eggs from all three quests).
Main Street USA at 3:13pm
Disneyland Wait Times at 3:18pm
A duck and ducklings out for a walk in the hub.
Out at the Big Thunder Trail some fence has been moved so you can see a little more clearly into the new walkway. Guessing it was moved so they can work on the new walkway.
Here you can see the fencing is further down, closer to Fantasyland.
Looking through the fence. Thought maybe we would see some forms for the walkway but not yet..
A tree has been brought in and is waiting to be planted.
Looking up river today.
The smoking area still has a wall up and the Columbia is still in dry dock.
Wonder if they will repair this side of the Columbia
The view as you approach Critter Country.
A closer look starting on the left. The new bridge from this side.
Panning to the right. As you pan you can see the rock work in various stages.
Looking through the fence.
To the right a bit you can see more newly formed river band on the far shore.
The left/west shore.
Looking at the river bend you can see the keel boat has returned and is awaiting placement.
Note sure what this structure is blocking my view. Guessing something for the canoe dock.
The the left a new tree and the back of the wall along the walkway.
A wider view showing the structure that partially blocks the view. On the left what looks to be stairs, guessing the exit for the canoes.
A closer look at the rock work and trestle
Another view of the new bridge from a lower vantage point.
The shoreline from near ground level.
The lower level of the Hungry Bear was quiet today. The signs have been moved off the wall on the left to be along the new walkway.
A wall up as they restore the area that was used as the temporary walkway entrance during construction.
Walking out to the new area.
The ground..
Looking up the ramp. Some trees in between the dining area and walkway.
Walking on the new path.. this used to be water.
Passing over the stream that will flow through Critter Country to the river.
The temporary walkway boardwalk has been removed. The wrap on the right is where they are working to restore the where it connected.
Notice the scrims are down from along the walkway up to the Hungry Bear.
Where the new meets the old walkway.
From the Hungry Bear entranceway.
A closer look out to the river from this elevated vantage point.
Here you can see the keel boat
You can see the steel work for the new show building through the trees.
Looking down to where the temporary walkway attached.
The rail and border have been replaced where the temporary walkway connected near the entrance to Winnie the Pooh
Where the temporary walkway was.
Ropes and signs up for Royal St. Veranda to try and manage the crowd. No line this afternoon though.
New Orleans Square was not too busy.
The new mens room has opened in Adventureland. It was way too busy to go in and take pictures.
Sleeping Beauty Castle this afternoon.
Snow White Grotto work continues.
They are completely rebuilding it.
Fantasyland this afternoon.
Another family of ducks this time on the old motorboat dock.
One of the few quiet spots left at Disneyland.
On my way back to DCA ran into a Dance the Magic pre-parade. I was not in a good spot for a picture.
Over at DCA I managed to catch the last minute of the Jammin Chefs twice today..
Sourdough pull-apart bread $3.99 at the beer truck in the Wharf
DJ Rolling out of Radiator Springs on Cross Street
The view from my table as I ate and posted pictures.
Guardians from Cars Land
The Cozy Cone with Guardians lurking behind.
Guardians and Bugs
I spent some time walking through Downtown Disney searching for eggs. A Beauty and the Beast Lego mural
Beauty and the Beast banners still up at the AMC
A posted wait of 20 min for the Monorail. I do not recall this sign at Downtown Disney before. I only saw Monorail Orange in operation again today.
No visible progress on Splittsville
Noticed some of the new tables set up across from World of Disney too (these have probably been there for weeks like the ones on the bridge but I just noticed them)
Back to DCA and Buena Vista Street. Spent about half an hour to walk DD and find the eggs.
DCA waits at 5:57pm
The sun was setting and the World of Color platforms were up for some work before the show tonight.
The Cove Bar queue switchbacks were filling up.
With the new Toy Story FastPass they have not integrated the parks into one system. That means you can no longer have a FastPass at each park. Here is what happened why I scanned my card at Big Thunder earlier. It told me I had a Toy Story one.
Time to use my Toy Story FastPass
A posted wait of 90 min now, app said 80.
Mr. Potato Head was on break. The FastPass return uses the old queue entrance.
This is the FP return line.
It merges in right past the glasses distribution.
My score today.
For comparison..
It took 18 minutes from when I entered the queue to this picture exiting.
Quattrosound performing at Paradise Gardens
Ornament Valley this evening.
The moon overhead.
Flos this evening.
The moon over Guardians.
All quiet on the Backlot.
Disneyland waits at 8:07pm
From New Orleans Square you can still see lights for the parking structure but as the trees fill in and Star Wars Land buildings rise these hopefully will disappear.
The Mark Twain in port
Found a spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade
About 5 minutes before Remember Dreams Come True and Main Street was not jammed.
Closed out my evening with Remember Dreams Come True Fireworks.
