  • Wow.. the light pole closest to DCA is finally back.. I think its been a couple of years or at least it seems it.

  • Finally a Fantasy in the Sky poster to replace the Magical one. (I say finally because the show has been running since early January).
  • Stepping onto Main Street USA
  • The annual egg-stravaganza kicked off today at both parks (plus Epcot in WDW).
  • The way it works is you purchase your map and then set off to find the various eggs and match the character sticker to the location you find.
  • Here is the kit you get.. a map, sticker, and then a prize egg. In this example it is Tinkerbell.
  • You can redeem your map at any point and pick your prize. They have a queue set up near the parade gate on Main Street.
  • Under each egg is a character. The one you pick is the one you get.

  • There are six eggs. At Disneyland they did not have them out on display. But our friends at MouseSteps.com took this picture at Epcot. The prizes are the same on both coasts. (Thank you Denise for letting me use the picture). I am going to keep this picture set spoiler free. So if you would like to see the hidden eggs and their locations I will be posting a separate picture set showing all 24 eggs at Disneyland & DCA.
  • Dale came running by while I was walking through Town Square.
  • Walking through the Emporium.
  • Sleeping Beauty Castle has received more of the 60th decorations and it does have a reflection now.
  • Disneyland waits around 1:10pm
  • I will circle back to the Castle in a few minutes..
  • First wanted to see if there were any FastPasses left for the 1st Fantasmic. There were not.
  • Dumbo topiary.
  • Now a walk around the Castle starting with the Fantasyland side.
  • Some cords are visible this week.
  • I think this can confirm that it will light up at night.
  • Interesting. Appears to be large light bars under the jewel tiles to provide the light.
  • The water was off in the Grotto
  • Two turrets have what appears to be a plastic diamond on them.

  • Depending on the angle you pick up some lens flare...
  • In the Grotto area.. guessing it is a speaker.
  • Making my way to Tomorrowland
  • The Big Hero 6 signage is all gone as the theater prepares for the Tomorrowland sneak peek
  • Work signs up at Innoventions. It closes this upcoming week.
  • Passing over the Frozen Fun area at DCA on the Monorail.
  • Quite a few trees have been brought in to the Grizzly Peak airfield area. Looks like a fair amount of shade for the Smokejumpers dining area.
  • A large crane is in place to move the trees around.
  • More new trees in front of Soarin

  • Work continues on the chiller placement backstage in Tomorrowland.
  • Fantasyland is in bloom
  • No real visible progress on the Small World facade
  • Interesting they just painted over the clips for the holiday lights.

  • It was pushing 90 degrees so a stop for Goofy Water was definitely needed.
  • Arrived at the Springtime Roundup as the Bunny Hop was wrapping up.

  • Water has returned to Splash Mountain. I did not see any logs cycling though.
  • Critter Country looks ready to reopen.
  • The walls, fences, and scaffolding are all gone.

  • There was a cast member meeting going on.
  • The walls are down in the River Belle Terrace/Stage Door eating area.. looks like maybe some pipe work?
  • The Mark Twain getting ready for its next cruise.

  • They have added a chef special.
  • Here is todays.. linguisa portuguese sausage & pineapple (thank you to the cast member that helped me with the picture and spelling of this offering)

  • The rockwork at the entrance to Grizzly Peak Airfield is taking shape.

  • Disney California Adventure Wait times around 4:30pm
  • The Cinderella preview has ended and the regular Tough to Be a Bug film has returned. The cast members were enticing guests to enter by saying plenty of ice cold air conditioning inside.
  • The show building mural is showing some wear.
  • Spotted a butterfly in the garden area.
  • Walked through Ghirardelli which has an assortment of Easter candy available.
  • Note the samples are still the regular caramel minis.

  • The view from my table in a quiet seating area (only one other group outside today).

  • A Cast Member driving Red around.. kids really enjoyed this they could not figure out how he was being controlled.

  • Is the Fly n Buy keeping its name? The sign is still visible. I thought it was receiving a new one.
  • World of Color fountains warming up.
  • Grizzly Peak
  • The current assortment of Frozen Treats at carts around the park.
  • Not sure why this one was closed so early.. it was still around 80 out.
  • No real visible progress from this angle except the green on the end of the Soarin building
  • The pool closest to Storytellers (guess that is the North one) is walled off at the Grand Californian for some work.
  • Work continues on this store at Downtown Disney
  • Looks like they split the space. No indication of what is going in on the left side. But the right has a Disney Vacation Club sign.

  • Work continues very slowly on the fall protection at the Disneyland Hotel
  • One area looks done.
  • The Monorail slides were closed already for the evening. The pool was fairly crowded with guests enjoying the warm spring break weather.

  • Work on the entrance arch is still going on.

  • A clip from the Let it Go sequence (I had the wrong lens and was in the wrong spot but it gives you an idea of the sequence).

  • Olaf was melting quickly this warm evening.

  • The redemption line was much shorter than last year. It is only the first day but seems much smoother since they were encouraging guests throughout the day to pick up their prize vs waiting until the evening.
  • Disneyland waits around 8:20pm
  • A look at Sleeping Beauty Castle this evening
  • Still no signage for the Standby Fantasmic area.. it is to the left.. but at least the barrier is moved so it is easier to enter the area.
  • They taped off rows but guests were ignoring it.
  • Looking down to the FastPass area plenty of space still and this was about 5 minutes to show time.
  • Continuing up the walkway another FastPass area is virtually empty. I think they should open areas like this at show time for stand by guests.
