The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.

  • A quick look at the Starbucks progress in Downtown Disney before heading to the parks.

  • Noticed the billboard in Condor Flats is back to normal. The Planes characters are gone.

  • As you approached the area decorations were on the light poles.
  • The decorations lined the parade route, the entire length of the gardens area.
  • Mulan's Chinese New Year Procession featured a horse (it is the year of the horse)
  • And of course Mulan and Mushu
  • After the procession guest performing groups took to the street. First up was one from the Korean Dance Institute.
  • A video clip from their performance.
  • The horse was out for photos for a while after each procession.
  • Bayside Brews had a couple special items for the event.
  • A side view of the horse photo op.
  • The Bandstand was decorated for the event.
  • There was also an outdoor vending cart decked out for the occasion.
  • The carts offerings.
  • The Pork Bao
  • Year of the Horse Shaped Sourdough Bread
  • A better picture of the bread.
  • Some of the performers from the procession were out interacting with guests.
  • Mulan and Mushu were in a meet and greet location.
  • Mickey and Minnie rotated with them at the location (also I read Chip and Dale did too, but I did not see them).
  • Signs to help you find what year you are.
  • There was a face painting area, but it I opted not to push through the crowd for a picture.
  • The Garden Grill stuck with its regular menu.. and as you can see Lunar New Year guests did not seem inspired by the offerings this afternoon.
  • The Bandstand stage featured guest performing groups throughout the day.
  • A video clip of a drum solo.
  • A fan dance.
  • There seemed to be a fair amount of custom signage and decorations for the event this year.
  • One small area of the merchandise stand near the Corn Dog Castle featured some items for Lunar New Year.
  • The T-Shirt
  • Envelopes
  • A closer look
  • Pins
  • Noticed the cart/stand near the Zephyr was gone.

  • An area set up for New Year Wishes.
  • In the back of the area were tables with Chinese Brush Painting & Calligraphy

  • The snow has melted away on Sleeping Beauty Castle.
  • The Photo supply store still features some Kodak references. Wonder if those will be removed and replaced with Nikon.
  • Speaking of Nikon another converted picture spot.
  • Small World is closed for the removal of the holiday overlay. And this coming week they are going to be using it as a set for the upcoming Brad Bird Tomorrowland film.
  • They are using it as a stand in for the 1964 Worlds Fair. The entrance area is being transformed to match and large blue backdrops so they can add the correct background in post production.
  • The filming is slated for the middle of next week. And the attraction is to reopen next weekend.
  • From the side.
  • The facade itself is looking rather run down again. The scrims added for the projection and the marks from the holiday lights look especially bad.
  • Moving on.. the walls for the sub lagoon have been extended so you can no longer get any view from the ground.
  • Space Mountain has some scaffolding on the top.
  • Looks like they are finally going to do some exterior work on the mountain and hopefully clean it too.
  • Went for a ride on the Monorail. Downtown Disney was quiet.
  • The sub lagoon looked about the same as it did two weeks ago, no real visible change.
  • Small World from the monorail. The blue backdrop covering most of the right side.
  • Alice in Wonderland is still open. Its closure seems to be bouncing around the calendar. Eventually it will close and this temporary fall protection scaffolding will be removed and a permanent solution installed.
