Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
A banner for the Halloween party as you leave the Mickey and Friends garage.
Several barriers stacked up on the goofy level. Guess some work is upcoming or just wrapped up?
Looking up there is some work going on.
Halloween billboards at the tram stop but thanks to that tram parked in front of them this is the best picture I could get on arrival.
The usual displays along the tram route (I goofed with the camera setting, but luckily nothing new to see).
New banners along Downtown Disney.
The backside is still Cars Land.
The walls for the planter at the right (west) side of the DCA entrance have been pushed out.
Mona Monorail going by overhead.
The pumpkin characters atop the entrance.
The floral Mickey is not really in the Halloween mode this year. Looks very traditional.
Magical ended its run last week and Remember starts this evening.
Main Street was quiet thanks to the over 100 degree weather. City Hall and the Firehouse are behind wraps for some work.
City Hall and the Restrooms are still accessible.
The usual Halloween decorations are up. I did not spot anything new.
The Mad Hatter is closed for some work.
Some work by the Carnation Cafe entrance.
No visible progress on Coke Corner. I hope they replace the archway. It looks rather plain without it to me.
The wait times around 1:25pm
Indy is closed for several weeks of work.
Jack and Sally out by the Haunted Mansion FastPass area. New this year, no Fastpasses for the Mansion.
Today was the first day of operation for the season.
I skipped the line this first time by, wanted to go see the Carnival and waiting in the heat did not sound fun.
The Jack popcorn buckets are back.
Stopped by the Pirates League and it was quiet this afternoon.
A quick look around the store.
Since they were in between guests the crew let me take a couple pictures of the courtyard. There are four stations, two on this side (two on the other).
Overhead some props.
The other two stations.
The large walkway is blocked off and looks to be used for photos or waiting area.
There is some Pirate treasure out and this is another photo area.
Walked back noticed no one in this area so grabbed a clean pictures of the gift shop.
The Halloween tree has returned to Frontierland.
The Zocalo Park is again celebrating Dia De Los Muertos.
A wider shot of the area
Heading up the trail they have the water side blocked off again, assuming storage for the Halloween Party stuff like last year.
No signage as you walk down the trail.
Big Thunder was down when I walked by. They were just releasing the trains from the brake zones.
The small signs featuring the bears were still up.
Out at the ranch the Halloween Round up was going on. The shack was about the same. The pumpkin carvers were moved to the Jamboree this year.
The goats are into the holiday spirit.
Moving to the Jamboree area the Carnival has come to town.
Thought this was a clever use of cotton candy.
The Halloween Vittles that were for sale.
Inside the tent was the Astounding Cauldron of Magic - Conjuring Villains, Just for Fun!
Only a few carvings have been done since today was the first day.
The gate has not been painted yet..
In the back corner there are a couple of games you can play.
I gave the fortune a spin...
Landed on the witch.
Was given a card (and a brief story too)
A coloring area for kids to make a mask for the character parade.
Waited about 10 minutes to enter the tent. Captain Hook was on duty for my stop.
There was a photopass photographer on hand to take your picture if you wished.
They were rotating villains throughout the day.
Back outside. As you can see it was not too crowded today.
The line for the tent.
I had a half hour till the Billies so went for a quick walk...
Casey Jr is being worked on (actually the entire area so the Storybook Land boats are also closed).
But the ticket booth was outside the fence.
Monstro is under wraps too.
The line for the Princesses was not too bad.. guess the blazing sun has a way to shorten things.
Small World was a near walk on.
Surprised the signage was still up.
Inside looks like more covers were removed but you cannot see anything else. Assuming they are working on the seating area.
Benny was missing form Cartoon Spin.
Minnie was in a shady spot for pictures.
The hills were being worked on.
No shortage of choices for what you want your popcorn in around the Disneyland Resort (these three, the coffin, then over at Cars Land the car as well as cone box I think in Tomorrowland they still had R2D2 too).
No wait for the tea cups, and even some empty ones.
Rumor is this winter they are going to finally replace this temporary solution for Alice with something nice.
A quick check of the new Princess home shows they have scaffolding and wraps up so that must mean all the steel is in place and they are starting the facade work.
Sure seems the flags have been at half staff a lot recently...
A rare mid day on a Friday shot of wide open space at Disneyland. (temps were hitting 107 at the park according to some reports).
No real visible progress by the boutique.
Back to the Roundup with a few minutes to spare.
The banners along the walkway appeared to be the same.
A better picture of the carving area, it is the focal point when you first walk in.
Mickey was out for pictures.
The initial reports were the characters with their Halloween costumes would only be at the Jamboree this year. Then later some had backed off that so not sure the final stance.
If I were betting I would say when the Jamboree is open they will be there then in the evening once it closes they will be on Main Street.
Pluto was also out.
Since Mickey did not have a line he went over to spin the wheel and play around a bit.
He got a ghost which scared him...
Looked up and noticed some pumpkins overhead.
Donald was next out of the gate.
The Billies made there way around the arena leading Mickeys Mask Parade which seemed a bit unorganized to me.
They eventually made it to the stage.
And the characters paraded around a little (Donald and Goofy were out at this time).
The Billies did their Haunted Hillbillie show.
Which featured the Devil Went Down to Georgia
And Ghost Riders in the Sky.
The halloween beverage cups.
A video of the Billies and parade.
A better picture of the coloring area.
Minnie was out after the show.
Mickey joined her for a couple pictures.
Time to head to Main Street and over to DCA. Pased some props in Frontierland.
Waits around 3:30pm
The Straw Hatters on Main Street.
Very few guests outside this afternoon as it was the heat of the day.
Random Emporium picture.
The tarp up in front of the firehouse.
A nice little maze to get to the mens room, you have to use the wheel chair ramp and there are walls all around you.
An ad for the party on the way out.
A better picture of the walls where they are now. No real visible progress yet.
If you have been following any of the DCA news recently you probably already heard about the Buena Vista Street window controversy. They have taken the incredible windows the Imagineers made and added random merchandise to them. I hear they are better now, but they still bothered me. Here is the baseball window.
And the other Five and Dime one.
A new edition of the Buena Vista Bugle is out, this is issue 4.
Another window. The glare was terrible so I gave us and said I would try again later.
Headed into Hollywood Land.
Frankenweenie inspired food.
The Animation Building lobby has been taken over with a display too.
A little background on the exhibition.
The first display case I walked up to featured the classroom.
They had a couple of cameras in the display and you could capture a picture and then send it via Facebook.
A look around the classroom.
The back side of the display.
Next up the attic set.
Here you could flip switches to make lights go on/off.
The last set was the kitchen.
Then there was a display case with several figures.
Here is a wide shot of the lobby so you can see the four displays and how they are laid out. On the screens they would play some info about the film from time to time.
This says nightly but Friday they had it playing all day.
No pictures allowed at the sneak peek.
The entrance was closed and just like Tron you entered and exited through the exit doors of the theater.
The movie posters on the way out have been swapped.
The large Dancin with Disney sign is gone. It is still open though.
A quick look inside.
Guests were still avoiding the streets and sun.
The Red Car had just pulled out and no one was there so went for a ride. Ended up having it to myself for the first leg from here to Carthay Circle.
The wait times at 5:00pm. Notice the Racers are only an hour.
A little hard to tell but no mist today, instead it was a steady stream of water, maybe a rain show is a good way to describe it.
An attempt to capture it. Anyways there was a lot more water than normal but guests seemed to really like it with the heat.
Two of the three World of Color platforms were up for some work.
Walked through the Wharf and spotted this sign/promotion.
Headed into Cars Land.
Decided to give the Racers a try since single rider looked reasonable (which is was, only the first switchback was full)
But as luck would have it with only a couple guests in front of me it went down. They started to evacuate riders and I bailed at that point.
On the way out spotted them checking this car.
Heading back to Disneyland.
Still some bad glares on the windows.
Does this really help to sell the merchandise?? I am not a marketing person but it does not make me want to go inside and buy something more than the previous window without the added items.
The Main Street crowd waiting for Soundsational at 6:30.
The parade making its way through the hub.
Pizza Port is under wraps for some work.
Ghost Galaxy has returned.
Scot Bruce/Elvis was at Tomorrowland Terrace.
Waits around 7:45pm
Went to visit the Mansion, posted 50 minutes, actually just under 30.
Sparkys grave.
Some random shots from inside, no real changes jumped out to me except the new gingerbread house in the ballroom.
The new house is very tall and hard to capture a decent photo of on a first pass by...
The new Halloween Cups.
Back to Main Street to wait for Remember.
Nothing too new or exciting jumped out during Remember.
On the way out I was able to see the tram stop billboards
The current guidemaps and time guides.
The Pirates League flyer.
