Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
I was directed out to the Toy Story Lot, which meant it took a good half hour from the freeway exit till I was in the lot.
No lines for the bus and only a couple people in line for tickets.
There is a pin trading board by the bus stops to occupy you while you wait.
But this afternoon no waits at all.
And plenty of buses rolling in.
No wait to head back either if you wanted to leave.
A closer look at the new signs in the area.
The one board was not turned on (was not when I left either)
Monorail Red making the rounds (Orange was also running today).
First stop of the day, DCA. Bueana Vista Street continues to emerge and looks great. The is the left (east side)
And this is the right (west side) as you enter.
West...
East...
A lot of people walking through Condor Flats this afternoon.
They are working on the tile roof for the Carthay.
Looks to be almost done.
The walls are are still up near the Red Car stop and no signs of what is going on.
More scaffolding is down.
Ready for the sign. This will be the Cafe/Bakery sign.
Work continues on the facade around the corner.
This portion of the Carthay roof is done already.
The Elias & Company storefront.
Looking down the street.
The west (opposite) side is a little further behind.
Still no entrance sign, but the lights are up and it looks ready to be completed.
Sarges exterior looks complete.
A look down Route 66 today. Quite a bit of activity as more landscaping is going in and they work on the interiors.
A closer look at Filmores
The sign for Sarges (I went back in the evening and it was not turned on yet)
Speakers are back but no lights yet.
The rock work overlooking the Pier is complete and it looks great!
The Cove Bar is closed for some work.
Screamin was down and there was a crew working on something near the launch area. (it reopened later in the day).
Another view of the closed Cove Bar.
The line for the Fun Wheel was way beyond my patience, the non swinging line stretched almost all the way to the top of the exit ramp.
They have swapped out the large palm trees that obstructed the view of the sign with these shorter ones (not sure how long ago this happened..)
The Little Mermaid was also closed temporarily.
The water play area in Paradise Park was open for business though.
No real visible change from Fliks to Cars Land.
The scaffolding is all down on the Backlot.
ElecTRONica removal has started. Most of the equipment on the main street has been removed and I am guessing this will be gone in the next few days.
Another look at the recently repainted facade.
It appears to look the same, just new again.
The Pixar Pals
The restroom area is looking rather plain.
The cab is gone too. And the Monsters facade is under wraps for some paint.
Only a few more weeks till ElecTRONica fades away (April 15th is the last day).
Monsters is still open during the work.
The exit path is a bit narrow though.
Heading back to the main street, notice all the lights, projectors, speakers, etc.. have been removed.
Current Turkey Leg pricing.
And if you want a shirt or hat to go with your meal there is a kiosk nearby.
This building recently received some new paint too.
With the ElecTRONica gear removed we can get a clear look up the street to see how it will blend with Buena Vista Street.
Notice all the light poles and trees are in along the street.
Guess the elephants are staying.
The old candy store facade.
Interesting note, this is real brick work.
A closer look around the street.
The bridge is taking shape quickly.
Looking back down the street to the Backlot.
Awaiting its signage.
Out front some new framing is visible to the left of the entrance.
Next up Disneyland. One of the two benches is out from behind the wall.
No drastic changes, guessing they were working on the sound equipment in the base.
Mickey out for pictures.
I really like the new red paint scheme.
Guess the Blue Ribbon Bakery signage is staying? Or just a placeholder?
The Matterhorn work is moving along.
The scaffolding is continuing to be taken down (as is the tarp/wrap around it.
The wait times around 3pm
Some Matterhorn shots.
Time for a Monorail ride. The windows into Elias and Company are still covered.
And you can still see some of the old Golden Gate.
Buena Vista Street is looking great.
This is a closer look at the park area on the left hand side of the street.
Working on the brick work for the Red Cars
Most of the facades are out from behind the scaffolding and the remaining will be very soon too.
Spring has arrived. What a nice afternoon.
A look in on the Matterhorn load/unload area.
Heading around again.. this time looking North.
Still quite a bit of dirt down there.
The central square.
Oswalds.. I like the color scheme.
The Lego store work is moving along. There were several models under wraps out front.
A look across the Esplanade.
Still working on one of the areas of the bus stops.
That line appears to be the snow line.
Wandered through the Ranch area.
Which was all decked out for Spring Time.
Big Thunder was down when I walked by.
Not sure what they were working on, first guess was painting but seemed odd to block off such a large walkway and not just the areas by the rails.
New Orleans Square has returned to normal now that the Bayou Bash is over.
There was a good crowd in the park this afternoon.
The waits around 4pm
Some work on Main Street.
Heading back to DCA.
A closer look at Buena Vista Street.
Spotted another V8 sign on Flos.
A featured item today.
A healthy crowd here too.
Toy Story was down.. but a rare sight.. no wait.
Testing the World of Color fountains as they prepare for the show this evening.
The sign has not returned to the bridge. Guessing one will eventually since the lights are still there.
The rock wall looks great. What a difference.
Wonder if there are any plans to repaint the parade building to blend in a bit more.
More trees waiting to be planted in Cars Land.
This facade looks to be almost done.
More signage going in.. thought this was great.
Notice all the dirt piles that were in the street are gone.
A closer look at the electrical poles. Transformers are now installed.
The waits just before 6pm
The poles that usually reside near the benches as you approach the castle are gone and these large covers are on them, which means no leg room for the seats right now.
Spotted what looks to be a time lapse camera for the Matterhorn project.
Soundsational
Elvis, Scot Bruce at the Tomorrowland Terrace.
If you have not seen his show I would recommend it.
There was an ok crowd for the first set.
The lights on out door seating area are still all off. Seems like forever since I remember seeing them on...
Back to DCA. Nothing too interesting going on at Cars Land, most of the lights were not on tonight.
They were cycling the lights, but not the attraction, at Maters.
This was odd to me. The projectors and lights are all gone, but they still had the lights off and were playing the background sounds.
And of course the bar was still open.
Found a spot of the Tron City Dance Crew Challenge and the first show started late then crashed. Looks like the system for the lights and screen was having some problems. Always a bad sign when you see unix/linux commands popping up.
Here is a video of the event. The lighting was odd but you can get the drift of the performances.
After a several minute delay they started the show but the lighting was all messed up.
The first group to perform was Team Millennia
Followed by Kaba Modern.
(this was by design not lighting problems)
At the end you could cast your vote. After the two nights the winner will move on to the next round.
With the Monsters Facade covered up the projections were a little easier to see.
Went back to the second showing of the dance competition. The lighting worked correctly for this one.
The show was identical. Same routines, etc..
Time to head out...
I had WDW falshbacks waiting in long bus lines.. too bad after this wait I had to get in a car and drive home.
Received this when I pulled into the lot. Did not see anything else about it.
