Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
There looked to be a lot of people at the tram stop so I decided to walk. Also interesting to note it seemed most guests were crammed into the first two waiting areas.. toward the front of the tram looked empty.
They were not parking guest cars outside yet, just the handicap/bus/oversize area.
Still working on the stairwell.
No real visible progress over at the Disneyland Hotel. The map appeared to be the same.
As was the work where the topiaries were.
By summer this will be an Earl of Sandwich.
The Monorail is back in operation (but only blue was in service this afternoon)
The Lego Store is moving along. It has been painted.
Work continues in front of several stores.
Everything is still open during the work.
Next week is an event in Downtown Disney - Signin in the Street. Hopefully the weather forecasts are wrong (they are saying rain next weekend as of today)
A healthy crowd in the Esplanade.
First stop DCA. Buena Vista Street is looking great.
Here you can make out the form of the new bridge. In the background is the Elias & Company sign.
Oswalds has received some paint.
More scaffolding/mesh is down to reveal more building outlines.
And some detail work starting to appear.
Minnie has changed from the Aviator outfit to a Flight Attendant. This seems to work with the show better.
Not much visible progress on the Carthay this week. Just some work on the marquee.
More scaffolding down, this time on the west side of the street.
A closer look.
The east side and Elias & Company.
Here you can see the bridge taking shape on either side of the monorail beam.
The Elias & Company storefront.
A closer look at the bridge.
More mesh is down and you can get a clear shot of Clarabelles facade.
The west side of the street.
One more shot of Elias & Co.
No real visible progress here thanks to the mesh.
The walls are down at the end of the street.
Not much visible progress on the walkway from Fliks to Cars Land. The trees do look great though.
The Carthay fits right in.
A look down the parade route.
Heading to the Blue Sky Cellar Patio, noticed the concept art has been removed from the exterior of the cellar.
Time to check in on Cars Land.
An arrow pointing the way.. made out of hub caps of course.
They were testing Maters again.
The roof looks to be done now. The tires are back.
A look down Route 66.
This afternoon the street is fairly empty.
A large cactus down by the courthouse waiting to be planted.
Sarges looks done.
The Courthouse looks to be ready for Stanley out front.
A closer look at Maters shack.
No real visible progress on the entrance sign.
A look down the street.
Waiting for the signage on this building.
Another look at the arrow.
No real visible progress in the Wharf.
Water has returned to the tidal basin.
Still working on removing the toothpicks and touching up the rock face.
The bridge work is mostly done. The sign has yet to return.
The Midway Shop work appears to be done. The canopies have returned.
What a difference without the giant clown.
More of the Matterhorn is revealed as the work progresses.
Wonder if anything will be done to the parade building.
An almost scaffolding free shot of Cars Land.
No signs of testing going on this afternoon.
No visible progress on the back side of the rock work. Thought they are going to continue the cover.. but maybe not?
The walkway from the Wharf
No activity at the Flying Tires today.
Working on the parking lot entrance near the Paradise Pier Hotel.
A wall of rims by the Flying Tires
A closer look.
Landscaping and fences are going in around the Cozy Cones.
Maters.
Still no progress on the ATM
The walls are down from under the swings.
Nothing sticks out... wonder if it was work with the drains?
The scaffolding is all down from GRR. The new colors really pop.
And water has returned. Nothing was cycling though.
Again the new colors really pop.
Much of the wood has been replaced.
Minnie also wears the Flight Attendant outfit for pictures near her plane. I thought the aviator outfit worked better here.. but I guess they want to match the show.
The cactus is on the move..
Spent some more time looking at the picture. Realized the Red Car pin really obstructs the view of Buena Vista Street.
Had a request for a closer shot of Cars Land. This picture was taken back in January. In just under two monhts they have made a lot of progress.
The light/speaker towers have returned to the parade route.
The Sorain sign replacement has not arrived yet.
No visible progress with the poles. In the back right they have started to put a brick facade on the building.
New signs in the transportation center off Harbor.
A closer look.
Time to visit Disneyland!
No change on Main Street.
The painted mesh/tarp was up today, so we could not see the progress on the facade.
The Matterhorn.
The wait times around 3pm. Seemed like an average day to me, but I do not visit that many Saturdays so a little hard to compare.
Some of the Nemo subs are in need of some touch up work.
A closer look.
Looks like during the down time they resurfaced the monorail station. Noticed the yellow lines were not back yet at the gates.
A look at Buena Vista Street from the Monorail. In the bottom right you can see they have not covered all the old bridge yet.
A closer look at the center (wonder what this area is called.)
A closer look off to the left at the Red Car stop. They have started the brick work for the rails.
Here you can see the new bridge covering. The flat concrete.
A closer look down toward Oswalds
The Lego Store.
Lurking in the shadows in the far side of the shot you can see some of the displays/models under wraps.
From the other side of the Esplanade as we headed back to Disneyland.
Wonder if the elephants are staying.. thought they were to be removed. From this angle they look kind of interesting with the Cadillac range backdrop.
Another view of the new signage.
Still working on some of the stops.
The Tomorrowland Station is open again. Interesting note as I was walking up I was met by a mob of people. They emptied the train for some reason.
The Bayou Bash wraps up this weekend in New Orleans Square.
The Mark Twain has returned to service.
From Tarzans Treehouse
Stopped by the Tiki Room. I had not seen the new intro video.
Kind of funny the animated Tiki Gods doing Vanna White impressions with Dole products.
Some shots from the show..
Was there something on this column before? There was a hole in the middle...
The blimp was overhead. It appeared to be lingering over Angel Stadium.
I ate dinner in Paradise Gardens. While eating the Ellis Island Boys performed (here is a video clip)
I wanted to go for a spin on the Fun Wheel but the line stretched all the way around the lower area which was longer than my patience this evening.
Duffy ready for St Patricks Day.
Stopped by the Blue Sky Cellar Patio again. This evening most of the neon was not on.
Flos sign seemed to be having a problem.
Something went on or was going on at the Hyperion.
Only a handful of weekends left for ElecTRONica.
I hung out for a while to see if the TronCams would be turned on.. they were not while I was there.
Did catch Laserman though.
Looking in the window of the Carthay looks like the ceiling is in this area.
As well as this one to the left.
Watched World of Color from the alternate viewing/stand by area in front of the Little Mermaid.
Made it over to NOS in time to watch Remember as a pre-show for Fantasmic.
The flames for the Indy segment make it look like a forest fire from this angle.
I like how they do some lighting effects, this was during the Haunted Mansion segment.
They also had the lasers on during the Star Tours segment.
Some random Fantasmic shots to end this week with.
All three barges/boats were in service this week.
Ariel was by herself.
Flotsam and Jetsam were in the show this week.
