Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
A crane lifting something to one of the Disneyland Hotel Towers
New signs at the tram stop (assuming those were up last week but we did not park over here)
The plants along this section of the tram route were gone.. guess something new is coming.
Headed into DCA. Two food trucks now parked in the Sunshine Plaza
And a new stand (more on both of these later)
Time to head for the World of Color Fastpasses (and if you do not pay attention you will miss the sign with the crowd in the area)
There was a small line (a couple of minutes) to get a Fastpass
The Miner 49ers performing.
Looks like the walls are going to be going up any day now on the Little Mermaid exterior.
Over at Cars Land scaffolding is going up
The center section was at show level and the other two platforms submerged in Paradise Bay
The Paradise Park was quite empty this afternoon.
The mesh has almost reached the top near the Parade building.
A new photo op. They have re-used the Santa area for World of Color.
Looks like some of the interior walls are going up for Little Mermaid.
Walls are up around the former Burger Invasion
Out for a cruise? They were just talking, maybe a training or info session?
From the Fun Wheel you can still see the submerged platform.
The show level one
Over to Cars Land. A pan over the next several pictures from right to left of the steel for the rock work.
The Little Mermaid Building.
Moving quite a bit of dirt around still.
No visible progress on the footer holes that were dug out from of Mermaid.
They were working on the car, but we saw no test runs in our trip around the Fun Wheel
Looks like the holes are still being drilled for the footers for the rock/steel work on the far side of cars land.
The show building is slowly taking shape.
A Fun Wheel car backstage for some work.
The Muppets ship is still around too.
A wider shot of the area
The new photo area from the air
Soon this will all be gone.
The walls from ground level. They are just around the old order area. I am guessing they will be moved out further soon..
The Mermaid work from ground level since the Zephyr was grounded due to wind.
Wend for a walk on the boardwalk, which was empty this afternoon.
One of the platforms used as a stage for the Carnival of Color
Surprised the fountains were not on.
A couple more Mermaid shots
A healthy line to pick up your picnic meal. (Sorry for the blur I did not stop to take the shot)
Walked through Greetings from California
Now over to Disneyland
They were setting up to film something..
The wait times around 2:20.
The grad nite lights/speakers were still out, I think Thursday was the last one of the season.
The College Band has started their summer performances
Still no sea gulls
Noticed Monorail Red partially out of the station but stopped. Monorail Orange was on the other side of the Matterhorn waiting to enter the station. By the time we got around to Small World they were moving again.
Some painting out in Toontown
The trolley has been moved down to near Roger Rabbit while the work is ongoing. It would be great to see them running again someday..
More painting.
The Princess Faire is back to a full menu of offerings.
The ramp was still blocked off.. but the area was open.
You can just use the steps.
Quite a few people in NOS
A quick trip through the Castle.
Time for the College Band in front of the Castle (this is at 4:20)
A first for us, trying to put some video into our pictorial updates. Here is a clip of the Disneyland Attraction finale to the College Bands set.
Some filming on Main Street.
They had the security tents nearest Disneyland all blocked off and only the one nearest DCA open.
The new Ride Makerz has opened.
For perspective this is hanging over the entrance and I am shooting straight up.
The store is much more spread out now, but not much else new jumped out to me.
It is much more open now with several doors on this side.
Back to Town Square for the Flag Retreat. The College Band has taken over for the Disneyland Band for the summer.
The Star Spangled Banner performed by the 2010 All American College Band as the flag is lowered for the evening.
A better shot of who was at the center of the filming.. anyone know who this is?
The new stand has opened and its a gift shop.. selling glow items.
Eventually this will be moved.. to the new dining location near Goofys Sky School.
Speaking of the Sky School.. had a request for a closer look at the board in the Blue Sky Cellar
Time to find a spot to watch Glow Fest.. noticed the drums did not make it through the week on the bad of the stages.
First out of the parade gate is this rather interesting troupe
featuring two hamster style balls
Here is a clip of their performance
Next up this character and his drummers.
The first group headed backstage
Here is a clip of their performance
Then the MC comes out
Anyone recognize him?
It is one of the Billys
Next up the Glow Fest dancers took the stage
Then a group of Bollywood Dancers takes over.
A clip of their performance
The trucks were opening for the evening.
The menu on the second truck which I did not see last week.
Tables for you to enjoy your beverages at.
One of the beverage locations has moved out to the Sun Plaza too.
The price list
The glasses
They were still performing but it was time for me to head to Disneyland.
The exit was only on the right tonight.. entrance on the left..
Time for the last set of the night for the College Band, 7:15 in front of the train station
Their into number.
The bands Michael Jackson tribute.
Back to DCA and to see the transition of Glow Fest from the Sunshine Plaza to the Backlot
I was disappointed to see the same numbers being performed that I saw earlier.
A clip from the performance as the sun was setting
A VW pulls out and leads the group to the Backlot (I was not in a good position for this and will have to visit again to re-shoot it).
Signs guiding you around as you head to the Pier area.
This walkway was off limits unless you had a Fastpass
The traffic heading to the Pier was routed through the Wharf and over the bridge.
It looks bad, but things were actually quite organized and easy to move around, you just had to be patient.
The viewing areas were clearly marked with ropes or tape.
The pre-show this week had a different hostess
I was over by the swings, so we could barely hear the audio of the show. Wonder why it was not brought into our area..
Show time
From this angle and distance the fountains were extremely impressive.
Also seeing the midst and other low level effects was great!
Here is a short clip of the introduction.
The video was un-recognizable for the most part, which is to be expected from this angle.
The Nemo segment.
The lasers were interesting from this angle (did not photograph that well)
A video clip of the Old Mill/Pirates sequence
The fire effects were intense (and great) from this location.
You can almost make out Dumbo
Time for the finale...
Here is a video clip of the finale sequence
A couple shots as I was walking out.
The crowd heading out of the Paradise Park area.
The crowd queued up for the 10:15 performance.
We headed for Glow Fest
This CM was really into it and had a long line following her around.
The projections on the Hyperion were impressive.
Not so much for their interactivity as their scale/motion/energy.
The area that is captured for the Hyperion projection
The area by Monsters is a dead zone.. you can walk there but there is no activity.. so here is heading back to the street.
The screens show a mix of Disney and abstract film.
The screen by the restrooms was blank
Nothing going on with the screen above Playhouse Disney either.
The Sunshine Plaza had lights going too.
Magicals finale
