The fences are down and now simple barriers block the Pixar Pals Parking Structure connection. The new garage will officially open on Sunday.
Cast Members working on setting up some cones.
The pedestrian walkway to the new structure.
  • Page Number: 2
Final touches and tweaks are underway. This crew was working on something, I could not tell what.
The fences have been reconfigured and the former tram stop is being removed so it can be rebuilt with new pavers and landscaping.
A parade of dump trucks were pulling in to hall away material.
  • Page Number: 3
A temporary walkway from the escalators through the work site to the new security area and tram stops.
  • Page Number: 4
Fences are close to the escalators.
Some construction near the elevators and Mickey and Friends structure. Wonder if a new bank of elevators is going to be added to expand capacity.
  • Page Number: 5
One of the new tram drop off areas is now open in the distance.
Fences are up around a small area between the elevators and escalators on each floor, one of the reasons I am speculating a new set of elevators is coming.
  • Page Number: 6
The new bag check is open as is a new walkway across the tram route to Magic Way.
Traveling down the escalator. Here you can see the temporary walkway through the construction.

From the concept art the trees will continue through the entire tram stop area once completed.
The escalators look ready to go for opening. Some barriers up today.

The entire area now features speakers with background music.
The Pixar Ball is in a planter in the center. Guessing a similar sculpture matching the signage will go near Mickey and Friends.

Making my way back to security.
This afternoon was not crowded so most of the checkpoints were closed.
  • Page Number: 18
The new tram stop features three zones. Here is a pan across the area starting on the left and working to the right. They were using this far left one as a drop off.
The center one was staging and to load wheelchairs.
  • Page Number: 19
Then the right hand station was being used as the primary load location.
There were two types of overhead lighting. Large square boxes.
    And these more detailed ones.
  • Page Number: 20
The far wall features bubbles with characters in them. There are two driveways so trams can pass and in the far left is the Mickey Van load/unload area and some space for other Disney vehicles.

Onboard and heading to the parks. You pass by this access driveway between the two garages.
Then you enter the first floor of the Mickey and Friends Structure. Temporary fences are up along the route. It appears they have not removed much of the old tram stop yet.
The Esplanade had some guests moving about but no lines to enter either park this afternoon.

There are some benches and tables in the area, guessing these will be here after the AP corner leaves too. Having some tables will be nice but I liked the old benches that had backs on them more than these to sit on.

The last stop is a photo backdrop with a PhotoPass CM on hand.
