  • Page Number: 8
The characters were out with their Halloween costumes on.
Quite a few people in the park this afternoon.
  • Page Number: 9

  • Page Number: 15
A look at some of the radio stations lined up out front of the Haunted Mansion.
  • Page Number: 16
There was a healthy line at the near by gift shop.
  • Page Number: 17
  • Page Number: 18
Out in Critter Country Pooh was stationed in front of his attraction for pictures.
Because the normal Meet and Greet spot is behind walls.
  • Page Number: 19
Trying to get a look through the fence.. it appears the planters are all out and they are reconfiguring the area.
  • Page Number: 20
You can still get into the Gift Shop, but it is a narrow walkway.
And it dead ends at the drinking fountains so you have to enter the store or go back around.
  • Page Number: 21
A look at some of the Halloween merchandise
  • Page Number: 22
  • Page Number: 23

  • Page Number: 37
  • Page Number: 38
The BBQ seemed fairly crowded too.
  • Page Number: 39
There was a large tour group blocking the entrance/exit area as they tried to assemble in a narrow crowded spot...
    Their sign.
  • Page Number: 40
The Tangled overlay has been removed.
But the meet and greet and line still remain.
  • Page Number: 41
The Villains have taken over the Small World Mall again for photos. This year only two stations. I seem to remember three the last couple.
  • Page Number: 42
  • Page Number: 43
    Ghost Galaxy opened today also.
  • Page Number: 44
The R2D2 buckets are still available. So if you are into popcorn buckets you have a handful of choices in the parks right now.
Looks like the pavers here have all been replaced (saw on some sights there were walls up here the last few weeks and guessing that is what was going on).
  • Page Number: 45
Not a bad wait for Star Tours
  • Page Number: 46
Nothing new in the hub jumped out at me.
  • Page Number: 47
Interesting there was a Castmember walking along with the horse.
And another down by the pumpkin.
  • Page Number: 48
Still working on the back rooms of the Emporium.
More characters out this pass by.
  • Page Number: 49
  • Page Number: 50
    The Straw Hatters
Time to head over to DCA.
  • Page Number: 51
The Carthay Circle Theater received its topper since my last visit.
  • Page Number: 52
As I walked around DCA there is not much in terms of Halloween decorations this year, just merchandise.
Speaking of merchandise.. the area that used to be the Cars Meet and Greet across from Soarin is now a gift shop and Photo Pass area since Greetings is closed.
  • Page Number: 53
  • Page Number: 54
Some of the walls have been moved around a little. You can now walk right up to/by the sign.
More details starting to emerge as they exterior of the Carthay takes shape
  • Page Number: 55
The planter area is out from behind walls and now sports low rails and more green.
The demo work on the stores looks to be wrapping up.
  • Page Number: 56
It looks to be fairly well gutted
  • Page Number: 57
Over on the other side of the street the Candy Store signs days are numbered.
The Greetings sign is slowly coming down.
Palm trees are now in by the Pump House. Wonder if those walls will come down soon.
  • Page Number: 58
You can see right through the old toy store
Heading out to check out the Cars Land work.
The facade on the left is being framed.
  • Page Number: 59
The Cadillac Range is more impressive with every visit.
Quite a bit of green in on the back left of this shot now.
The framing of the courthouse is moving along.
  • Page Number: 60
The scaffolding around the radiator cap is slowly being removed.
A pan across the range starting on the left.
  • Page Number: 61
  • Page Number: 62
A wide shot of the range.
Several workers gathered around the far turntables at Maters
  • Page Number: 63
They were testing out the ride system.
It is a bit hard to see but to the left of the center column in this shot if you look near the bottom you will see something sticking up. That is a point where the tractors will attach. It was cycling.
If you compare this shot to the previous you will see it moved a little. Very hard to tell and not that interesting, but they did have it going around the figure eight.
  • Page Number: 64
    A look at the shack
This area looks to be ready for the wire mesh soon
I was disappointed to see this. The nice wood railings along the Pier have been replaced with these metal designs. So you can no longer rest/lean on them and take pictures (comfortably).
  • Page Number: 65
They did this all the to Ariels
They look ok, but I really liked the smooth ones. You could use them to steady yourself for pictures, etc..
  • Page Number: 66
    Still working on this section.
If you were curious how they were attached here is an unfinished area.
  • Page Number: 67
Duffys photo area is decked out for Halloween.
  • Page Number: 68
    Here he comes...
Wonder if these railings will get replaced too...
Screamin is closed for some scheduled work. They are replacing the loop and painting.
  • Page Number: 69
Here you can see the old (left) and new paint.
Was hoping they may do some work to the queue/load areas. But looks to be just painting and refreshing no substantial changes.
  • Page Number: 70
Here is what the old/current area looks like
    Then they clean/strip it
  • Page Number: 71
    And the repainted.
  • Page Number: 72
As I mentioned the loop is currently gone.
  • Page Number: 73
Time for some Fun Wheel shots of the Cars Land work.
  • Page Number: 74
Notice all the trees being brought in on the right. Also the walls are being extended behind the Cozy Cones. No visible progress on the cone itself though.
  • Page Number: 75
  • Page Number: 76
Here you can get a better view of some of the trees that are being brought in.
The painting is slowly moving toward the finish line.
More scaffolding is gone in this area.
  • Page Number: 77
Hmm.. Thought this was interesting. A group walking the track. I could not tell if they were inspecting it or if they were just walking.
    A look in on Maters
  • Page Number: 78
The trees are going in to the Tires queue.
A closer look. Are those the load gates in too And some lights.
  • Page Number: 79
More scaffolding is down and you can now start to make out one of the bridges.
Over to the Carthay now. Here you get a good view of the elements that have been added around the top.
  • Page Number: 80
More toothpicks going up and looks to be the start of scaffolding on the far side of the mountain range.
A look at the missing loop
  • Page Number: 81
    Oddessy performing at Paradise Gardens
  • Page Number: 82
    The current guidemaps.
    A peak inside Disneylands
  • Page Number: 83
    Not very busy this afternoon
  • Page Number: 84
The center platform was up, no signs of work going on.
The fountains were on but with the light crowd and overcast no one was playing in them.
  • Page Number: 85
Hmm never noticed that sign on the second floor.. how long has it been there...
    A closer look
  • Page Number: 86
Wood boxes for what I am assuming will be speakers going in. May be lights?
The window of Towers Gift shop
  • Page Number: 87
    A quick look around inside.
  • Page Number: 88
ElecTRONica is closed till the end of the month.
  • Page Number: 89
Walls up around the intersection. Wonder if they are working on the pavement or is this ElecTRONica related.
  • Page Number: 90
You had to cut through the Muppets queue or go around.
Speaking of the Muppets a poster for their upcoming film.
Here you can see the far side of the wall. The ODV carts are gone so you can walk through.
  • Page Number: 91
  • Page Number: 92
Notice the hole in the bottom. Wonder if that means they are going to be removing these soon.
  • Page Number: 93
While taking pictures of the Carthay the background music seemed louder than usual. You could hear the Backlots track playing. Turned around and looked up and the speakers were pointing to the hub area.
  • Page Number: 94
Circled back for another round of Cars Land shots.
The poles are making their way down the street.
  • Page Number: 95
This area looks to be all cleaned up and marked off.
  • Page Number: 96
  • Page Number: 97
  • Page Number: 98
A lone worker taking pictures of the site (I would like copies to share).
  • Page Number: 99
Back to Disneyland for the Flag Retreat

    The wait times around 5:00pm
  • Page Number: 101
    Some fresh plants in Tomorrowland
Went for a ride on the railroad and the last dino scene is back in operation and our from behind the curtains.
  • Page Number: 102
A video of the dino section.
  • Page Number: 103
Heading into Main Street station a look over at DCA
  • Page Number: 104
Down near the AMC/Rain Forest the banners are for Halloween Time.
    Some concrete repair going on.
  • Page Number: 105
Heading to the Disneyland Hotel. The exterior work lift is gone.
And a narrow walkway is open to get to the hotel.
  • Page Number: 106
The parking lot side of the Fantasy Tower.
Plenty of walls up around the front entrance.
But they were nice enough to put some windows in so I could take pictures of what was going on behind them.
  • Page Number: 107
Notice the columns on the right have been removed and the structural supports are walled off.
    A palm tree forest.
  • Page Number: 108
The walkway from the convention center to the lobby side is done.
Wonder if the old photos will return somehow? I enjoyed seeing those.
  • Page Number: 109
You cannot go through to the lobby.
  • Page Number: 110
The old guest relations area is now just a sitting area.
  • Page Number: 111
  • Page Number: 112
    Quite a different feel.
To get to the lobby you can walk through a narrow corridor (or circle back around the way I came)
  • Page Number: 113
  • Page Number: 114
  • Page Number: 115
This area was interesting to me. You can see the new (left) and old.
    Another old meets new area
  • Page Number: 116
A closer look at the new
    And old.
    The lobby is still untouched.
  • Page Number: 117
The lower restrooms look the same to me (was thinking they may have Fantasyland attraction posters to match the others... maybe they are not done yet).
Working my way around to check out the outside work.
  • Page Number: 118
A look at the E-Ticket pool area (this is the old Neverland Pool area). The new D-ticket/monorail pool is directly behind me in this shot.
The exterior of the Fantasy Tower looks to be done.
  • Page Number: 119
  • Page Number: 120
  • Page Number: 121
  • Page Number: 122
  • Page Number: 123
    Heading back to Downtown Disney.
Interesting to see Snoopy at Build a Bear
  • Page Number: 124
The Autopia was just reopening. No idea why it was down.
A look toward the entrance of DCA from the monorail. Notice on the left the old ATM building is gone and the front of the restroom/locker building has been removed.
  • Page Number: 125
    A closer look
And looking over ot the right side looks like the path has been cleared all the way out to the walls now.
  • Page Number: 126
    A closer look
Circling back around for another pass. A look into the former Greets sotre. It appears to be completely gutted now.
  • Page Number: 127
  • Page Number: 128
    The 80z All Stars
    They had a decent crowd
Spent some time watching the Ghost Galaxy projections. This year the sound seemed much quieter and not as much activity with the projections, must have been there 10-15 minutes and nothing really happened.
  • Page Number: 129
The line board in the back says 85 minutes.
  • Page Number: 130
  • Page Number: 131
It dawned on me that I do not think I have walked this way at night and taken any shots of the Star Tours lighting.
It cycles through some different light patterns
  • Page Number: 132
And the sign has some motion (well lights that turn on/off) too.
The Halloween tree (it is behind this large tree and the wall) is not decorated or lit. Guessing it will be once they finish the work.
Headed over to the Haunted Mansion craziness next. It took us several minutes to get to the Fastpass Return queue. (Standby was posted at 75 minutes)
  • Page Number: 133
  • Page Number: 134

A quick walk through the French Market
Funny how the sign was on the far side not near the cake... here is the cake.
  • Page Number: 140
Thought this was odd.. a lot of guests milling around the Pirates queue area.. no clue what they were up.
The pumpkin was not lit tonight.
    These were though.
  • Page Number: 141
  • Page Number: 142
Mickey did not line up tonight.
