Woke up to overcast skies this morning. And really bright already considering it is 5:30am.
Here you can sort of see where we are heading.. the white line.. the ocean was a warm 46.4 degrees..
Today we are at sea all day. So some pictures off the balcony then off to explore the ship.

    Ahead looks brighter.
Looking back and playing with the camera settings a bit.. it was not this dark out.. but I liked the reflection.
Just before 6am now and the hallway is quiet.. you could see all the way to the front of the ship with no one out yet.

Some Disney art in the gallery.
The central Piazza area, there are glass elevators inside here.

A look into the Santa Fe Dining room. There were four dining rooms that looked the same, just different names and themes (Sante Fe, Pacific Moon, Savor, and Vivaldi). There was also a larger dining room further back in the ship called the International.
    The Wheelhouse Bar
  • Page Number: 6
A dance floor in the Wheelhouse bar.
The bar was not open at 6:22am.. go figure...
    Passing by some islands.

While eating breakfast a pilot boat pulled up outside.
Speaking of breakfast we ate in International Dining room since it was the only table service option open.
    The Pilot boat leaving.

The waiting area outside the theater.
    The casino.
  • Page Number: 9
The outdoor pool area. No one in sight and it is now 8:22am..
    The ice cream shop.
Walked up to the front of the ship which was very windy and cold.. notice how bend over the antennas are.. the upper area was closed off.

On the large screen they were showing a film about Alaska this morning so stopped for a bit.
Back to the Piazza and a food carving demonstration.
Can you guess what this is? I could not till they were just about finished with each piece.

First piece finished was a fish. A little tropical looking for an Alaskan cruise to me.
    A pig playing the drums.
    A cool bee.
  • Page Number: 14
    Squirrel!
More with the theme but wrong pole.. a penguin.

Afterwards the creation were left out for pictures.

This was late morning about 11am.
A look down at the water from a lounge on deck 17.
A large chess set out on deck.

Looks nice and peaceful in this picture with the sun out.. but temp was about 60 and it was very windy.
Looking down on our balcony.. it is the one on the bottom of the picture with the door open to the one above.
    The Savoy dining room.
  • Page Number: 20
A log passing by outside.. no wild life today so this was one of the more interesting things to see.
    And of course some waves.
The Skywalkers Nightclub. Nice and comfortable, and inside with great views!

People always ask for more food pictures.. so a couple of the desserts in the International Cafe
Another ship off in the distance traveling the same way as us. Was kind of hoping to catch a glimpse of the Disney Wonder as it headed south today (but no clue the route we were on vs it as we headed north).
  • Page Number: 22
The sun still nice and high at 6pm.
A nice looking evening out on deck.
No one out enjoying the pool area.
  • Page Number: 23
They were preparing for movies under the stars.. which seemed like an odd name since the stars really do not come out this time of year this far north.
A champagne water fall set up for an event to mark the start of the formal night.
  • Page Number: 24
Guests could wait in line and have their picture taken as more was poured in.
  • Page Number: 25
The show this evening in the main theater was a show entitled Do You Wanna Dance featuring the ships singers and dancers.
A couple of stills from the show, no video allowed but stills were..
Which was not a bad thing.. I was not impressed with the show in terms of selection, arrangement, or quality of vocalists. It seemed rather flat and bad to me. I was expecting a higher caliber show from the onboard talent. I did not even go to the second show by them later in the cruise, opted for Glacier viewing and dinner instead

A river dance inspired number was the highlight of the show and received the most applause.

Back in the Piazza there was a street entertainment session with Cory Tabino who was a former Circ performer.
  • Page Number: 29
Cory put on an incredible display of strength and balance (and remember we were on a moving cruise ship too).
  • Page Number: 30
A brief video clip of from his performance.
  • Page Number: 31
A couple more shots out to sea.
The sun was still up at 9:45pm. I want to say there were a few hours of darkness this evening but as we headed north this disappeared but I went to bed soon after this picture so cannot really say.
