The Animal Kingdom Lodge is located near the Animal Kingdom themepark. Most of the rooms have a savanna view with others having a pool view. A minority of the rooms have a parking lot/garden view. We stayed here for a couple nights in December 2002. Our biggest concern about the hotel was traveling time to the parks because it is "so far out there". Well to our surprise traveling times were not that bad, actually they seemed a little better than from the All Star Resorts.

If you stay at this resort spend some time walking around. The savannas have slightly different animals and there is a lot of African artwork around the resort. Also its just a nice place to relax for a while. If your going to spend all your time in the parks and only be around the resort in the late evening, you may be wasting your money and missing a great opportunity.

We had a great savanna view out on the Zebra trail. One note, to really bring the animals close bring some binoculars.

All transportation from this resort is via bus. One nice thing is it does not share routes with any other resort. So you have your own busses, a definite plus in saving time.
