Dining at Disney Resorts

Some of the best restaurants at WDW are located in Disney's resorts. Each resort has its own theme, and to match the theme there are several dining options at each resort. As a general rule:

Value Resorts: All have a food court with several dining options to choose from ranging from hot dogs and hamburgers to pastas and pizza.

Moderate Resorts: All have a food court and they also have a nicer sit-down restaurant.

Deluxe Resorts: All the Deluxe Resorts feature at least one sit-down restaurant and most feature a secondary restaurant and a counter service place too.

The Geek's Choices

Yachtsman Steakhouse: This is my favorite restaurant at WDW. It is located at the Yacht Club resort and features a nice selection of steaks. For you seafood lovers out there the lobster here is incredible (or at least that is what I have been told, since I do not eat seafood).

California Grille: The location of this restaurant is what sells it. The Grille is perched atop the Contemporary resort. You have some outstanding views of WDW, looking one direction you have the Magic Kingdom and the seven seas lagoon. Looking the other you have Bay Lake and in the distance you can see the rest of WDW. This is a great place to see the fireworks of the Magic Kingdom from. They pipe in the sound so you won't miss a bit of the show.

Narcoossee's: Is located on the Seven Seas Lagoon at the Grand Floridian resort. They offer a nice selection of "Florida favorites". This used to be our favorite restaurant, but due to some menu changes in recent years it has moved down to just in the top 5.

Beaches and Cream: Is located at the Yacht & Beach Club. It is a 50s/60s soda fountain. They have incredible sundaes and shakes. They also serve hamburgers and hotdogs. This restaurant is almost always busy. So be prepared to wait (they do not have priority seating). It is also very small.

ESPN Club: I forget the final count but the ESPN Club at Disney's Boardwalk resort has more TVs than you can count. This is for the ultimate sports fan. You can watch pretty much any sporting event live. They even have TV's in the restrooms so you do not miss a thing. The food is pretty good too. The portions are extremely large.
