Finding Nemo in the Disney Theme Parks

General Information:

Media Type: Book
Type: Parks - Picture
Release Date: 2009-04-03

Geek's Thoughts: This relatively small (24 page) softcover book takes a look at the Finding Nemo attractions that have opened in the stateside parks as well as a mention of the overseas parks.

The book covers the following attractions:

  • Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage (Disneyland)
  • Turtle Talk with Crush (DCA and EPCOT)
  • The Seas with Nemo and Friends (EPCOT)
  • Finding Nemo the Musical (Animal Kingdom)
  • There is also a mention of Crush's Coaster (Disney Studios Paris)

I thought it was great that a couple pages were devoted to the original Submarine Voyage at Disneyland as well as the original Living Seas at EPCOT. Throughout each section of the book are some great photos of the attraction or in some cases concept art or a model even. I was kind of surprised the Nemo wrapped monorail did not make it into the book (or a picture of the dedication, that would have been nice). I was also a little disappointed that the Crush Coaster at the Disney Studios Paris only had a brief mention and a poster.. I would have liked to have learned a little more about that attraction, a page or two like the others. But then again I am a disneygeek and always want more info.. more pictures... more Disney!

This book is the first in a new series called Disney in Detail. This series is going to explore individual or groups of attractions in a little more detail. I think this is a great concept and cannot wait to learn more and see what is next. Also add in that they are softcover and small and the price point comes out at a reasonable place too (this book retails for $6.95). The first two books are this one on Nemo and one on Expedition Everest. One on the windows on Main Street is coming in July.

One last interesting note with this book is there is a D23 logo on the back.
