Billy Hill & the
Hillbillies (Golden Horseshoe)
An incredibly entertaining show presented throughout the day on the
stage in the Golden Horseshoe. Many people will not go because they
hear the word Hillbillies and immediately run for the hills. They
play a wide variety of music, ranging from Disney to Elvis to Rock
n Roll, and of course some Hillbilly. The group is very entertaining,
it is a comedy musical show. Also its in a nice air conditioned theater,
so in the hot crowded part of the day the chance to sit down, cool
down, and be entertained for a half hour is really good.
The Trashcan Trio (Main Street,
Tomorrowland)
This is a percussion group dressed as custodial workers. They roam
around the park and take "breaks" to perform. I do not know
what it is, but people are drawn to the rythm of guys beating on trashcans
and water bottles. They can usually be found somewhere between the
main Tomorrowland walkway and end of Main Street. If you hear some
loud banging follow the sound and it will probably be them.
Tomorrowland Terrace (Live
Bands)

On this "bandstand" you will see various groups throughout
the year. They range from violin groups(shown above) to the Fab
4 to boy bands to rock groups. Check your Disneyland Today guidebook
to see who is performing on your visit. The performances are in
the evening and during the off season are on weekends only usually.
Carnation Plaza (Live Groups,
Swing Dancing)
The stage at Carnation Plaza has several performing groups too. These
range from students participating in the Magic Music Days program
to Swing Dancing lessons and competitions. Check out the daily entertainment
schedule to see what is happening on this stage.
Steel
Drum Band (Adventureland)
This band performs throughout the day from a stage on the second level
of the Jungle Cruise Queue. Check your Disneyland guidebook for show
times, or ask a CM. They are really good and its fun to just sit on
the steps across from them and relax for a bit. Its been quite a few years since I last saw them though... possibly not since the late 90s?
Jazz/Dixie Bands (New Orleans
Square)
As you stroll through New Orleans you may hear a band. They usually
perform near the Pirates Exit, or on the stage by the Mint Julep place.
Stop by and give them a listen.
The Bootstrappers (New Orleans Square & Tom Sawyer Island)
This band of pirates roams New Orleans and Tom Sawyer Island performing several sets a day. They first appeared when TSI reopened as Pirates Lair in 2007 and have stuck around since. They tell some great sea stories, sing some great songs, and just a lively group to interact with.
Disneyland Band (Main Street)
The official Disneyland Band performs on Main Street most of the time
you can find them in Town Square. You will usually not find them during
off-season, but the rest of the year they are around.
Flag
Retreat (Main Street @ dusk)
The Flag Retreat takes place every evening at Dusk in Town Square.
It is not a publized event, but its a Disneyland tradition. Several
Disneyland security officiers march out to Town Square, then the
announcement is made, and the national anthem is played as the flag
is lowered. As they fold the flags and march away a patriotic medley
is played. Its a short (10 min) event, but just one of the many
traditions that makes Disneyland so great.
During the summer when the All American College band is performing,
they come down and play for the ceremony, which makes it even better.
Other
Main Street Entertianment(Main Street)
There are several other groups that call Main Street home throughout
the year. Pictured to the right is the Firehouse Sax Quartet.
